I'm sick of these bellyaching gasbags distorting the truth. It's a lengthy read so TIA if you get through it. It's a rant but a heartfelt one. But I've had enough of these people, and I just wanted to say so.
"When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?" Eleanor Roosevelt
"As the Bush Administration wages war against Saddam Hussein,"
our hearts and thoughts go out to all those who will suffer as a result of this attack. Bush's tunnel vision is jeopardizing the women and men serving in the U.S. military and millions of lives in Iraq, where more than half of the population is children.
Bush wants us to believe that the U.S. is united for war, but many millions are united for peace here and around the world. In defiance of the U.N., Bush is acting as a renegade, arm-twisting our allies and disregarding international law. How can we aspire to advance democracy around the world if we can't practice it here at home?
We may never know the true devastation of Bush's war on Iraq due to the Administration's stranglehold on the U.S. media. Television news is helping the Bush Administration obscure the carnage with bloodless video game-like simulations of military strikes. The most horrific consequences of this war will not be covered on the nightly news.
The reality is that many lives will be lost, and an already-ravaged country will be further destroyed. Bush's reckless mission has also endangered the safety and stability of the U.S. and the world.
N.O.W. calls for the Bush Administration to end this unprovoked attack immediately and to help restore the democratic principles he has undermined. We also call on international leaders to join in working toward peace and human rights around the world. As the drumbeat to stand behind Bush in a time of war grows louder every day, it is more important than ever to raise our voices for peace.
(my response)
Wow...great opening line! Really frames the focus of this message.
Bush! Bush! Bush! Attack! Attack! Attack! One line into the article and your message becomes immediately transparent to those that know your true agenda.
Back to the opening "feel-goodism". Was this asked by anyone of today's female political stature of Saddam Hussein? Answer? No! He would laugh, let them be raped, kill their children (if any) in front of them, and then feed them through the shredder feet first...and then laugh some more.
So no!!! Eleanor Roosevelt, nor any other moronic feel good type woman of today's political climate, can only get away with screaming this on soil that is occupied by decent, moralistic people who will just casually disagree. Our virtues, generally guided by a Christian upbringing, will not allow us to rape, maim, kill and and laugh in such a vile, inhumane way. Note to Hillary, Babs, that Pelosi chic and some broad named Patsy Schroeder among others... Shut the hell up!! You're asking these stupid, inane questions of the wrong people. And it's obvious that you only want to further your own ambitions by doing so and demanding humanity out of an already humane country, while ignoring other butcherous leaders. Which bring me to my next thought...
"...(your) hearts and thoughts go out to all those who will suffer as a result of this attack". Where were you on September 11th? Were you heads really that far up your collective asses? THAT was an attack!! Our president was nowhere near those buildings on that day, but I'm sure your hatred wishes that he were. Innocent people were there carrying on their day to day lives. Mothers... Fathers... Aunts... Uncles... Sons... Daughters... Did you lose anyone? Did you pray for them who harmed no one while earning their right to live and prosper in a decent society?
What about all of those who have suffered for years in Iraq? Where were you then and what is your stance now? And on the issue of Bush's tunnel vision... A volunteer force is never jeopardized. Their cause is understood. And pay close attention to the following...we understand your intentions to undermine our President. Your intentions to undermine and destroy Freedom. Your intentions to become conventional thought police, guiding and controlling our independent thoughts and Freedoms, and limiting Freedom out of existence. This is your subversive, cowardly goal. Today's military are not being jeopardized. If they felt that way it is they who would be protesting. When you say "You support the war", it's obvious you don't, because it is painfully obvious that you don't "get it"! No one supports war, not even the one's who are fighting it. They support what you are trying to destroy...Freedom... Let me say it again. FREEDOM!!! This is why your mantra of "supporting the war" is wholly transparent, so stuff it where your head is. It is Freedom that we support, not war. And we support our troops for protecting the Freedoms you are trying so hard to deny us of.
And jeopardizing millions of lives in Iraq where more than half the population are children?? First, and let's cut through the mustard here...stop playing on emotions and using the "for the children" argument. Organizations like you USE the children by playing them up to people's emotions, all the while lying and distorting the truth and backing up nothing, with facts.
Since you've used the term millions I suppose I will too, and outline your folly while throwing up largely unaccounted for numbers. There's a million man army in Korea...where children are starving..., largely because in order to eat you have to join the military. So by all means feel free to take your "for the children" argument to Kim Jong Il. And while you are there, feel even more free to ask him about his "tunnel vision..." Can you pull your head from your backside long enough to understand the comparison I'm trying to make? Some how I don't think so...
Regarding the President on wanting us to believe that we are United for war. Thanks, but no thanks. You've relegated the majority of Americans to nothing more than war mongerers. In short...screw off!! But since you are so adept at manipulating media coverage and steering the beliefs of others (i.e. thought police), please use it's more blatantly, right-wing, hatred filled form of...F**k off!!
Many millions are united for peace?? More arbitrary figures to make you look good, but may i ask you what you are doing to maintain it? I don't see your peace rallies organizing in Iraq, and with the news coverage the war gets, I'm sure you will find plenty of opportunity to get some TV time. But for more on why you wouldn't be there protesting...see my opening paragraphs and please re-read carefully. And then apply more of my right-winged hatred...
No, instead, I see brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines sacrificing their lives so that you may have the opportunity to claim your patriotism and enjoy your Freedoms, protected for you at the expense of others lives. Which by the way, the only people who brought your patriotism into question....was you... I won't, however, explain to you how you manged to do so. Patriotism, like Freedom is a concept. If you understood the concept of Freedom, then you wouldn't be trying to take it away. How can you then comprehend Patriotism?
You prey on the minds of the young, organizing them into frenzied protest mobs, making them believe they are serving a cause for peace. You take their money in the form of donations, all for the furtherance of your cause. You lie to them and fuel their hatred over issues they can't possibly comprehend at such early ages. You infiltrate colleges and schools, and charge them ungodly amounts just to educate them with pure unadulterated Communist, Socialist, Marxist crap. In short, you CAPITALIZE off the ignorance and inexperience of "the children". Organizations such as yours should be ashamed, yet that's not the reason for your existence. It's because you have no shame that allows you to infiltrate your un-American viewpoints while CAPITALIZING (a FREE society concept) your ability to exist on the backs of the younger generation. And to think we have Freedom fighters defending your right to do this...the very people you protest. Can you see how transparent you are? Probably not considering where your head has been.
Before you ask me that stupid question..."Are you questioning my patriotism?" No...I'm not...I'm smart enough, and brave enough to tell you that it doesn't exist. It infuriates me to see certain arguments get deflected by that stupid question. It should be beaten back and challenged until it's nothing but a shallow hole in the ground. None of the other "isms" were based on Patriotism, so why would I even bother to question an "ism" you not only can't, but don't want to understand. You would rather destroy it.
Given that, I now ask you the same question...How can YOU aspire to advance democracy around the world if YOU can't practice it here at home...??
And how is Bush in defiance of the UN? I don't see the UN going into Baghdad either. But maybe the US, a "peace through strength" country should drop a bomb on the UN building while we're at it, thus solidifying the UN's existence into irrelevancy. President Bush is in defiance of no one. The UN did not elect him. The American People did. And if you will notice, he is not in defiance of the American People. It is this nation's sovereignty he was ELECTED (no S) to protect, not the UN. We did not elect Kofi Annon nor Hans Blix for that task. This is just another classic example of how organizations such as yours are trying to mis-educate the American People. As I said, your intentions are clear. And international law does not apply to a free and sovereign nation. This statement will be too difficult for you to comprehend. International law applies to nations that aren't free... get it? And your reference to arm-twisiting is an utter joke I won't address.
A media stranglehold? Why don't you just slap America upside the head and call them stupid up front instead of the cowardice fashion you have chosen to do so. Americans are not dumb, although it would serve to further your cause, hence your form of educating the young. This is how transparent you are to those who see it. If the Bush administration has such a stronghold it's due to nothing that he nor his administration has done. It's because you have been tuned out. And you can't stand for Americans to have the ability to make up their own mind. Does the term "thought police" mean anything to you now? Stranglehold my ass! You're message is one of pure anti-americanism and should be identified and treated as such. So please take this moment to briefly replace your head back where it belongs.
True devastation of Bush's war?? Unfortunately, for you, we may eventually understand the "true devastation" of this war. First, this is not Bush's war.... Make no mistake about it, this is Clinton's war. He declared the war on terrorism for 6 years...he even signed the Iraqi Liberation Act... he just never committed to ending the war on terrorism, or Liberating Iraq. That is the true devastation, along with the atrocities that have occurred in Iraq while Clinton sat with you, on your collective asses and "Spoke Loudly while carrying a toothpick" while more children starved, more women were raped, more were tortured and brutally killed at the hands of a person and a regime that you insinuate is a better man than President Bush by protesting the existence of what you call "his war". You people are less than pathetic...and your President (Clinton) was the high point of cowardice and embarrassment.
As you say, the most horrific consequences of this war will not be covered on the nightly news. That's probably a good thing for you as well. To air the brutal executions of the first group of POWs might be detrimental to your cause and help to outline and lend credence to the brutal reality of who we are dealing with. It might identify, and simplify to the American people as to why we are there. You're right...it probably won't be shown, which should serve to prove who has the stranglehold on today's media. Although the treatment and execution of those POWs was pure carnage (as you have so adeptly defined), it would serve to rally Americans around this President faster than you claim he claims he has. This concept might also be a little deep, but I'll leave it at that. You can't slap stupid with a brick and build a house...
I'm glad you can predict the future too. You say many live will be lost, as if you know. I agree many lives may be lost but what you still fail to comprehend is that it's not war that is expensive...it's that Freedom is not Free...
You demand Bush account for the cost of the war and he plays you like fools allowing you to keep demanding and identifying to America that it's not the sacrifice of lives defending Freedom and the protecting the safety of Americans and their children for future generations to come, but that all you care about is a dollar figure on what it will cost. Once again, you fail to understand the concept of Patriotism...and Freedom...but you identify who you are...I hope you are proud. For the record, you never...NEVER asked for this cost to justify the actions of Clinton.
The reality is that many lives may be lost, I agree. But the further reality is that I would rather die next to them protecting America's Freedom, rather than support a group such as yours in subversively killing America...how's that for reality?
As for calling on the Bush administration to end this unprovoked (...9-11, USS Cole, Khobar towers, the 1st World Trade Center bombing just to name a few) attack (spelled response, something Clinton failed to do), along with international leaders to aid your misleading cause to do nothing in the name of human rights... Shut the Hell up!! And refer to my opening paragraphs for further understanding.
Another sad reality, is that the military is their own worst enemy in times of war. But for reasons you either fail to comprehend, or knowingly understand. We protect the Freedoms that allow disgraceful organizations such as yours to organize, protest, lobby, and contribute to entities that demand we fight a humane, just war, as if that's completely possible. We protect the Freedoms that allow you to impede our ability to do a swift, decisive, and effective job. Your organized efforts that prop up a world body such as the UN, and demand we seek approval, and a diplomatic end that you knew would never come (and really did not want) has allowed the enemy more time to mobilize and prepare and dig in while more brutal, murderous killings of Iraqi citizens have been committed at the hands of a tyrant dictator and his despicable regime. It is your protected abilities to obfuscate and stall that has already led to these killings, yet you label us "babykilers". And when the military comes home, you will become increasingly, ridiculously loud and continue to label us "babykillers"...because your ability to do so has been protected. It is YOU, because of your subersive actions, who perpetuate the killing. It is YOU whoare the "babykillers"....I ask you how it feels to be called one??
Maybe the next time we correspond, we should completely identify they ways of deception that allow you to profit from protesting wars. You all have your little "donate" button on your website. You profit from furthering the threat and existence of war. These months of delay have you allowed you to continue to organize and protest. Deaths allow you to go organize and become even louder while you really hope to accomplish nothing. You prey on the ignorant and uneducated to further your existence. In reality, alhough you claim to not support the war, it is organizations that delay the abilities of the military to end it quickly and decisively so you can collect more donations in the name of peace. So it IS you (and we know the definition of is) that actually supports this war. The longer this war drags out, the more profitable for you it becomes. It is not you that can claim any existence to the belief and notion of Freedom.

NOW is not for the children. They make a lot of their money from the people that abort them.
Speaking of money. As I have posted here since about the first day I found FreeeRepublic: "There are over 850,000 "nonprofit" corporations in America. Way too many of these "charities" are in business to either enrich their handlers and/or push their own political agendas. We need nonprofit corporation reform in America!"
Now how do we make sure every member of NOW gets to read this? and every protester?
