(Wesley) Clark Tanks

DEAN-DUMB
So much for the Democrats' hope that retired General Wesley Clark was going to be their Colin Powell. "He's more Benedict Arnold than anything else, if you believe the mail we've been getting here," says the Democratic National Committee staffer who, only a month ago was touting Clark as his party's answer to the military star power aligned with Republicans.

"Any cachet he might have had he's pretty much pissed away on TV," says the staffer.

Since the outbreak of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Clark has been on CNN, bemoaning the Pentagon and Gen. Tommy Franks's strategy in the opening days of taking down Saddam. And while several other senior retired military men have made critical comments about the ongoing fighting -- Ret. Gen. Barry McCaffrey, another former Clinton-era official, has been quick to criticize during his stints on MSNBC -- Clark has by far been the most vocal.

"It just looks really bad that he's knocking the troops and the way we're executing this war," says the DNC staffer. "He's taking hits everywhere, on TV, in the newspapers, on talk radio. People are furious at him. We can't fundraise off performances like this. The only presidential candidate that would probably want to be seen with him is Howard Dean."

Prior to Clark's "tanking" on CNN, the DNC had Clark pegged for political stardom. He'd visited New Hampshire, and had hinted that he was interested in perhaps running for president as a Democrat. Now, the DNC isn't sure what they can do with the man who directed Bill Clinton's military machinations in Kosovo.

LOW TURNOUT
The University of Iowa invited former President Bill Clinton to speak on Wednesday night, and even though tickets were free to students, turnout was comparatively low.

"It wasn't the sellout they thought it would be," says a Hawkeye undergrad. "There were lots of girls who went to take a look at him, though."

There were no estimates on the crowd, though more than 1,000 tickets went unused. For once, the terms Clinton and sellout weren't synonymous.

There is something about Westley Clark that gives me the heebie jeebies, his eyes look like they have no color and he looks like he could play the roll of a Star Trek Klingon. The simple fact that a General in the armed services would align himself with the DNC is scary enough for me. I suspect he would be a big supporter of the U.N.

Even though I don't care for him much, I salute his service to our country, he just wont get my vote for any kind of elected office, that's all

Col. David Hunt: The best military analyst on TV, IMO.

Last night, he looked like he had one cup of coffee too many.

If this is the kind of heat the Democrats get with a general, imagine how unpopular the other candidates will be.

I find this article amusing. You have the phrase "sellout" and Clinton and Clark all mentioned together. Karma is a b*tch isn't it?

Clark is one of David Hackworth's "Perfumed Princes". A Pentagon operator, who, when he went to Da 'Nam, just got his ticket punched, a few love notes in his SRB, and skated ASAP.

Just because he climbed to the top of the corporate heap in the military does not make him a soldier, still less a Warrior.

Wesley Clark was hated by the professional military. He was perceived as a "poltitical pretty boy", and an arrogant, insecure sack of shit.

' Another good one, who is one with Col. Hunt late nights is David Christian (Capt. or Col., can't remember).

Capt. Christian doesn't get as much attention as Col. Hunt, but,he is another fine analyst, very calm, very methodical.I also like Lt.Col.Cowan,Major Bevelacqua and Maj.Gen Vallely. Col.Hunt wouldn't last a minute on CNN- I can see him decking somebody, after one too many stupid questions.Maybe that's what CNN needs to beef up ratings-allow some military analyst to punch Aaron Brown in the nose every night!

I don't call the man WC for nothing, he couldn't get his Apaches up, becuase as a Commander of a Major Command, he had neglected their training and there supplies.

WC wanted to nuke the russians who beat him into the serbian air field (Actually the British Brigadier under him said he was going to start WWIII, for anyone).

Clark is the idiot that killed and wounded thousands of innocent Serb civilians with his fight'em at 30,000 foot scenario.

Barry McCaffrey was the drug Czar in charge of the drug war for five years under Klintoon. Guess what, he lost that war, and now he dares to question President Bush and General Franks five days into the Iraqi campaign? What a treason ridden duet these two French agents are.

"There were lots of girls who went to take a look at him, though."

These are the same kind of bimbos that would stand in line for an application to appear in a 'girls gone wild' video.

Yeah I'm easy...easy like Sunday morning...mmm

General George McClellan, redux
He's gambling on a long painful and ugly war that bogs down and is mishandled.
Exactly, another mediocre general with ambitions for higher office. His hopes, like McClellan's, rest on a war going badly, though for different reasons.

I had little respect for this man before, but now see him as a worm.
