VANITY, Who were the pro America protesters on hwy 49 in Auburn, Ca?

I drove north today on Highway 49 in Auburn, Ca. towards hwy 80 and noticed a LARGE contingent of pro America protestors. Of course I honked my horn to show support but one sign caught my eyes.

It said, Baghdad Chamber of Commerce with an arrow pointing to the much smaller peace protesters North of them. I laughed all the way through Auburn.

It had to be someone from FR; so fess up so I can thank you!

I did a search on protesting, Auburn, Ca. and came up empty so I apologize if this is a repeat.

I also went by some peacenikskis with their no war in Iraq stickers on the drive as well. I just looked at them but one of them shot me daggers as I went by. Guess he didn't like me old gas hog classic. If I were younger, I'd get a plate that says, Powered by Spotted Owls.

If they are Pro -American, they are NOT Protesters. They are Supporting the troops, not protesting.

Hey! I'm hoping to retire in Auburn in 15 years but by then it might be too big. Seriously, my brother and his wife live in Colfax and have a son serving in the Air Force right now. I will see if it was he.

Good point. Although it could be argued that they were protesting the protesters?

Pity the anti-American protesters didn't have a die in. What was that thump thump?

What kind of gas hog classic do you drive. I drive a '73 Licoln Continental MarkIV. Gets about 9/gallon city. Have you made contact with the NorCal Freepers? You should. Go see Comwatch's Patriot Watch site.

1969 Chevrolet Corvette roadster base model (350-300).
In other words a small block and 4sp and as I found out on this trip, a soon to be expired rear wheel bearing set. I manage to eek out 10mpg on the hwy. I need to jet it down 2 sizes on the primaries as I can smell the rich mixture then maybe I'll get 10.5mpg.

I love those old Continentals. A friend of mine had the four door one with suicide doors mid 60's I believe, I love old cars. Is yours the one with all the switches on the driver's door to control everything?

I like the Patriot Watch site, Thanks a bunch.

I was at the Auburn Support our Troops rally. I think at one time I heard a count of over 110 patriots supporting President Bush and the troops. I believe this rally was sponsored by the republicans in this area.

I didn't get to close to the America haters because I was afraid I might get arrested for saying something foul! The patriots were rather subdued I guess because many of them were older vets in their late 60s and 70s. They understand more than most of us that our troops need support! There were also a lot younger people there and they played patriotic music. Many folks that drove by had flags on their cars and pickups. We had support from the firefighters, police, and ambulance drivers also. Placer County is over 51% republican. Yahoo!

The America haters had a sign "honk for peace". Guess what! Nobody honked!!!!!!! They honked when they got to the "Support America" Group! The pathelic America haters were depressed when they went home, I'm sure!

I was one who honked continuously, I was going South now that I think about it, I said North above. Anyway, I had my horn going until I saw the peacenikskis.

Thank You for supporting our troops.

I'm still laughing at the, "Baghdad Chamber of Commerce" sign. If there's one thing these nitwits can't take, it's humor. Great Job!

LOL! I don't know if this was freepers or not, but I sure am going to steal the Bagdad Chamber of Commerce idea! That is just too funny!

It is the least we can do when our young men and women are putting their lives on the line for us. They are doing a marvelous job over there. I pray several times during the day, as many of you do, that they come home safely to their families.

Could they have been protesting the protestors? LOL!

Sorry, I live in San Diego and have never heard of Auburn, California or Highway Route 49 (we have a Route 80 down here though that runs east-west near the Mexico border).

By our estimate, San Diego (county) now has at least 100,000 San Diegans in the Persian Gulf (1st Marine Expeditionary Force).

We support our soldiers, sailors, and aircrews, and have numerous marches to say and show so. (Our Griffins S-3 group from North Island Naval Air Station sank a "significant" Iraqi naval vessel this week with an AGM65 missile in the Persion Gulf - we also have five aircraft carriers from San Diego on station).

The Bush haters
