I clicked on someone's profile this morning, and noticed that John Robinson has updated their format.
I like it! Great job!

That is all. Please return to your regularly scheduled Freeping.

Am I the only one who is seeing little tiny font?

No. Try this. Edit your profile page and before your text, add the following HTML tag:

<font size=+1>

At the end of the text use this tag:

</font>

This will format the text one point size larger. You can also add color this way:

<font size=+1 color=red>

It would all come out this way:

Try the HTML Bootcamp!

Some of my fonts are extremely small, some of them are larger - I don't know what to do about it. It says I can edit this page, and I clicked on that and got the edit form - I tried to put the tables back and clicked on ok or post or whatever it is we click on to make the changes. It didn't do one thing.

Body BGcolor isn't recognized, but you can do tables and get the bgcolor the color you want it.

Yes, but you can no longer hover the mouse pointer over a poster's screen name and see his sign-up number. How are we gonna razz newbies?

I'm shocked, JR, absolutely shocked to see such a thread in your bookmarks.

Ah, thanks for the info!

Do you know if there is a limit to the width of a table?

Right now I have my image cut up and set in a table that is currently 600 pixels wide.

Yep... the sign-up number was one of the best ways for rapid troll acquisition and elimination.

I have already asked John Robinson about that.
It severely impacts the troll-detection abilities of the Nasty Little Clique™.

How else will we know when to call in a ZOT from the AM??

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the problem is, everyone else's page has small fonts too. The part that John added at the top, where it says....."view home page, enter name:" and "~ About ~ Links ~ Contact ~ In Forum ~ Mail To" is so small, it is not even readable.

Wouldn't this indicate that it is something peculiar to my computer settings or my browser settings that is causing this. Any ideas what that could be?

Me too, I couldn't ask for a nicer looking new layout but I miss the numbers.

At first guess, it sounds like your resolution is set too high?

Well, that sounds logical, but it is set at 600x800, where it has always been. I guess I could try changing it and see what happens.

I also can't find any place where I can edit my page anymore. Could be the font's so small I can't see it. LOL.

One minor request. Could we maybe include the state's name as well as flag? The flag is cool everybody should know their own state flag, but it's a drag to have to click through the flag to find out where somebody else is from, with the 50 state flags plus however many countries FReepers come from there's simply no way to learn them all.

As far as I know, no - but you probably should rememember that many of us have screen resolutions of 800 x 60, so when you set a table wider than 750 with borders, etc. we'll have to scroll. :) (I set most of my tables at 600 - 650, and use multiple tables with lots of borders and cellpaddings.

Hm, well, that is rather odd. Sorry, I don't know what else could be the problem!

Oh, and if you scroll to the very bottom of your "About" page, you'll see a link on the far left that says "You can edit this page." :-)

Here's a little known secret of HTML: IE and Netscape do not display fonts the same size, or at least not all fonts. Commercial websites detect your browser and deliver a page tuned to your browser.
