The first channel that puts on something decent that conservatives could watch will absolutely clean up!
Would that it were so! But I'm afraid it ain't gonna happen any time soon. Conservatives are grounded in reality, and liberals are wallowing in fantasy. We don't need to go to TV to get true reality (so-called 'reality' shows are not, of course). We can see that every day.
Who wants to watch people succeed through hard, productive work? We already know it's true. Those who watch TV are not there to see truth. They want the fantasy of being able to escape from work into glamorous, exciting lives.
So the market, despite those who frequent this site, is for the lazy who live through fantasy, not conservatives.

I don't think there's any jab at the Oil Conspiracy theory, again it's just entertainment. They are portraying Politicians as the Bad guy's who would weasel out on their friends at a minutes notice, unfortunately I think that this plays out in real life way to often in real politics.

Remember, David Palmer is a DEMOCRATIC President. If some are going to nit-pick about the direction the show is going, shouldn't they be cheering the fact that a DEMOCRATIC President has his cabinet scheming against him - trying to remove him from office?
Sheesh, it's television. I don't watch West Wing because I don't want to support Martin Sheen, not because of the material - from what I understand, the material is no good, so I probably wouldn't like it anyway.
When Kiefer Sutherland comes out and makes an ass of himself to the degree that Sheen and others have, I'll stop watching 24.
Until then, Jack Bauer rocks, and is the toughest S.O.B. to grace our televisions since Marshall Matt Dillon.

Just remember, you can always change the channel. Or, I recommend just turning the TV offOr put it out for the garbage.

Yes. Lex is portrayed as having a heart. Now, can you tell me how Smallville is a conservative show?
To: FlJoePa
10-4 on that, Jack kick's @ss and takes names.

...the story line changes every 15 minutes. Who knows how it will end up. Good point. I don't watch the show, BTW.

Never watched either; don't plan to either.

I could not stand to watch the poorly written and acted 24 last season. I didn't even try to this season.
As for Buffy, I am a long time fan. It's mindless and I enjoy some of the plot twists and turns that the creators are so good at. Plus there's usually one or two shows each season that are incredibly well done. Hush and the Body are two such episodes.
That being said, there have been evil clerics mentioned in plenty of sci-fi and horror media. It is nothing new at all. Yes, the character is absolutely evil and has absolutely no redeeming quality, the kind of pawn you would expect the First evil to have and use.

I don't watch it for underlying tones. I watch it because it's the early story of Superman. Same reason I watched Birds of Prey, another excellent show on the WB (sad to say it was cancelled). I didn't say it was or wasn't conservative. But to call the producers 'neo-marxist' because they don't always paint businessmen in a good light, especially considering the businessmen in this storyline are predestined to turn out evil by the storyline itself, is a little ridiculous

My favorite Liberal TV twist was in the movie "Sum of All Fears." The book had Muslim extremists as the bad guys. The movie changed it to.....everones favorite PC bad guy: Neo Nazis!
Except now I just call them National Socialists.

BB do you follow the Comics?

Used to quite a bit. Dropped off considerably about two years after Supes 'death'. But I know the last few I read at the time, while Luthor wasn't squeaky clean it seemed as if they were painting him in a not so dark light.
Personally, I'm more of a Midnight Sons kind of guy (Ghostie, Blade, Doc Strange).

24 is awesome Yep. I don't see it as too politically correct either. There are good Arabs and bad Arabs, and good white guys and bad white guys. President Palmer is an honest Democrat, but his associates are often thugs. All in all, reasonably fair and balanced.

I'm a fan of 24 also- missed the first season but have been watching ever since. I have never been a huge fan of this type of show, but 24 has made suspense into an art form. Never before have I seen a show that literally has me on the edge of my seat, my heart rate elevated, yelling at the characters on the screen!

You ever read Preacher? By the way I have the Black Bag edition of Supermans death as well as the whole Doomsday story line. It was good.
To: adamyoshida
"The Shield" on F/X is a wonderful, conservative show.

All Hollywood writers are neo-Marxists.

Won't happen. The creative types who happen to be conservative as well can't get a job in the industry. The industry is so left it falls over on itself.
