And people on this thread really should check out link 1000, and see if they can contribute with some information.

I did a few quick searches on monkey pox, which I posted on that thread, and it sounds like a real mystery for it to show up in the US.

It is supposed to be mostly in Africa and very rarely do humans get it.

Where did the prairie dogs come from, how did they get it and how did it get transmitted to humans?

Could turn out to be another mystery, like SARS.
