A crowded field with no clear frontrunner has fueled speculation the Senator Hillary Clinton (D, NY) may enter the 2004 Presidential race.
Two recent polls conducted within New York indicate that she is facing obstacles even within her "home" state of New York.
In addition to a recent poll which showed her narrowly trailing President Bush in a potential head-to-head matchup, two more polls indicate that she continues to carry high negatives.
A recent Marist College poll rated her job performance at 47% good/excellent, while 49% rated her fair/poor.
Likewise, a Zogby poll revealed 47% positive with 51% rating her either fair or poor.
A lagging economy, particularly in upstrate New York has had a major impact on approval ratings for most politicians.
Nevertheless, a lagging economy is just what Clinton and many Democrats are hoping for by 2004.

Im sorry, but there is NO WAY Hillary will be elected. No way in hell. Im going to go right out against those who say "no one thought she would win NY either..".
Im going with my gut and my feelings toward America and America isnt as dumb as NY ended up being.
Hillary is assasinates her own character by her history alone. Bush wouldnt even have to bring anything up. I bet he could tell her to get back to the laundry at a debate and he would still beat her.
There, I said it. Flame away at my optimism.

You overestimate the intelligence of many Americans. How do you think Bubba was elected twice?

There, I said it. Flame away at my optimism.Heck, rather than flame you, I'll pray you're right - the past stupidity of the voters keeps me at least mildly pessimistic...

Hillie won't run in 2004. If she loses against a very strong Bush, she has nothing to fall back on. No NY Senate seat and no national office. She'd have to find another crooked state to run for the Senate from, maybe California in 2006.
The dem candidate in 2004 will be Al Gore!!! Remember where you heard it, AL GORE.

Daniel Patrick Moynihan gave her her Senate seat.
He paved the golden road for her because he was respected by both sides of the aisle, and out of respect, nobody interfered.
Well guess what. HE DIED!
Why won't anybody mention that very important fact. Daniel Patrick Moynihan handed Hillary her seat, and the votes that she couldn't produce, she had her husband "pardon" family members, and did other such tricks.

Voter stupidity, or voter fraud?
Will be harder to commit voter fraud new that the FBI has brass balls.

Ross Perot was responsible for that double debacle.

You overestimate the intelligence of many Americans. How do you think Bubba was elected twice?Well, the 1st time Ross Perot took enough votes away from Bush to let Clinton win. If Perot had not run, Clinton would not have been elected. The 2nd time the Republicans ran Bob Dole. I suspect any sitting president could have beat Bob Dole. I suspect that a stuffed plush toy could have beat Bob Dole.

Politicians don't create jobs. Businesses create jobs.
The only thing politicians can do is either get in the way or get out of the way of the process.

And in this last election Nader was a factor in getting Bush elected. Hopefully this situation will continue.
