May the Lord touch the broken hearts of Jabbar's parents, and may He bring forth those people needed to minister to their grief ... I ask for wisdom for those investigating this tragedy, that the guilty will be found and judged accordingly. Gather this community together, Lord, as they seek to minister to their own, in the name, and for the glory of Jesus, Amen ...

Thank you for a powerful, lovely prayer. This Friday will be the funeral.

Thank you for that powerful, sweet prayer. The funeral is this Friday. I'll keep you guys posted. Just think: There's a killer on the loose out here somewhere in Fresno. Gives you pause - especially those of us who live in Fresno.

They still don't know who did it. I pray they find the killer soon. The funeral is this Friday, 5/16, 1 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Van Ness Ward, 5431 N. Maroa Ave., Fresno. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. this Thursday at Yose & Webb Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Farewell Funeral Service. Love you, Sis.

HALLELUJAH!! Jabbar's funeral was last Friday. I am speechless. It was so powerful and spiritual!! The Church was packed!! About half of the attendees were young people, friends of Jabbar and the family. The whole service was so sweet and lovely and POWERFUL.
They had a "viewing" in another room and Jabbar looked so peaceful; then they closed the casket and brought him into the Church sanctuary. Every person was touched by the Holy Spirit!
The Bishop talked about how the money that came pouring in was MULTIPLIED miraculously so all the funeral expenses were paid for perfectly!! The Bishop was crying as he spoke. I can't tell you how glorious it was.
Jabbar's Mom looks much better. She, in fact, looked lovely. Jabbar's father was all sobered up and looking good in a nice suit. Jabbar's brother - the one who is a gang banger - showed up about a half an hour late with an attitude but as the service progessed I saw his countenance change until he looked quite handsome. (He's the one I think was meant for the bullet.)
The whole family is very good looking. Jabbar's send-off was really spectacular. It was an experience I will remember forever.
Our Bishop says he has such fond memories of Jabbar passing the Sacrament. Their Visiting Home Teacher told funny stories about Jabbar (but it was hard for folks to laugh but we tried our best).
After the trip to the cemetery everyone was invited back to the Church for a meal. We were all filled with God's LOVE!!!
Best part is the Bishop spoke about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all those kids were listening intently, as were we all. And the very best part is that we know for SURE that Jabbar is with Jesus and he's happy, peaceful and filled with GLORY. Hallelujah!!!!!!!
Thanks to all the FReepers for your prayers, love, and concern. For victory & freedom!!! Saundra

So sad.

I pray that the good Lord works on this guy's heart.

Made me cry. Joyful, but crying too.Tears still come to my eyes when I think about Jabbar, too. He will be missed.

The brother with an attitude who showed up late - you should have seen what he was wearing. So disrespectful. But on the other hand, we were all glad he came. Many people went up to him and hugged him and encouraged him to change his life around. It was neat to see all the young people there - with open hearts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ooops . . . here come the tears again.
