Pollack's painting was based on his disgust for watercress and white bread sandwiches, after an incident where he threw up on his hostess' lap due to the cucumber being washed in unclean water.

Jackson Pollack's painting, 'This was supposed to be something else, but I screwed it up and later used the canvas to dry my brushes' shown here, will be offered at Sotheby's Evening Sale of Contemporary Art in New York on May 13, 2003. The painting is expected to sell for $5 million to $7 million, and to be bought by someone with too much money and too little common sense.
