we could continue to galvanize Republicans with fear that Billy Joe might return. That assumes that the Clintons play by rules we recognize. They don't. They would actively plan to destroy the country and plant evidence that GW Bush was behind it. And they have the backing of the media. No. I don't want to see this law changed--for anyone--not even to have Pres. Bush serve for more than 2 terms.

Ron Kuby on WABC radio (NYC) just said that if Hillary ran for President with Bill as her VP running mate, he could legally become President again if she stepped aside, regardless of the 22nd amendment.

Term limits always imply/ied a mistrust of the people I agree with the principle. But they also recognize the reality that people in power have access to ways to get re-elected that other, equally qualified, people do not have. While I don't want to see term limits on Congress, I want to see our 2-term limit on the presidency to remain in place.

Smart people, because the 22nd kicked in and rid us of Clinton. It worked exactly as designed.
The power of incumbancy is incredible.

Does he want it changed before or after Bush's term? (Rhetorical of course)

Clinton wanted to be President in the worse way He achieved his goal. He was President in the worst way imaginable.

He wants the females falling all over him because of the power of the presidency. I guess you can't score as much when you're a former president.

Ron Kuby on WABC radio (NYC) just said that if Hillary ran for President with Bill as her VP running mate, he could legally become President again if she stepped aside, regardless of the 22nd amendment. No, it wouldn't be legal, since Bill is now ineligible to be president. But when did that ever stop the klintons? Bill would merely promise that, as candidate for VP, he would let the presidency go to the Speaker of the House if anything, heaven forbid, happened to Hitlery.
Who would stop a klinton/klinton ticket? The US Supreme Court? They were barely able to stop the klintons from stealing Florida for Algore. What could a klinton/klinton ticket be charged with? Who would enforce it?
If the klintons attempted it, legions of flying-monkey "constitutional scholars" (like James CarVILE) would appear out of the woodwork, saying that it was a "gray area", and the klintons should be encouraged to do it, "for the children".
Bill had people "looking for loopholes" before the 2000 election. I have no doubt that if the Y2K changeover had produced even the smallest hiccup, Bill and Hitlery would still be in power today based on some lame emergency proclamation that was sitting on his and her desks.

Yes, someone on another thread pointed out the last sentence of Amendment XII, which reads (thank God):
"But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

Emotionally, I agree with you. The cool thing about 22 is that it prevents governmental bipolar disorder (the highest of highs and the lowest of lows).
Whether the president in question is godlike or satanlike, without 22, they'll do anything to hold on to power.

The Dems are becoming a permanent minority party. Their last 3 presidents have been LBJ, Jima Carter, and clown klintoon.
They have lost the house under klintoon and now the GOP has all 3 branches in comtrol. 2004 will have huge Bush coat tails and we could have 60 GOP senators.
The Dems are melting and will probably beg Hillary to run which will be the final nail in the coffin.

I agree. For the record, I don't want to see it changed either.
My comments that it might actually help us by keeping alive Widespread Endemic Fear Uf Continuing Klintoon Destruction" (WEF*KD) was tongue in cheek.

The first four presidents of what is now the USA had one-year terms. Done and out. Sounds like a fine idea.

I think it was Alexander Hamilton who wrote or said words to the effect that: 'Once a president's term is finished he should leave the country lest he create mischief.' How true in clinton's case.
