I've been asked to start a prayer thread for Joel Kernodle. He was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Memorial Day weekend as he returned from visiting fellow veterans in West Virginia.
Joel, known as PointManHerc, was the inspiration for the Patriots Rally for America III held in 9 degree weather on the morning of January 18 this year in Washington, D.C. He and his group of veterans, MOVEOUT, came to our nation's capital to stand up against the communist-led anti-war demonstration that day. They were doing for those serving now what wasn't done for them when they served in Vietnam.
Here is a message I received tonight about Joel's condition: His wife and a couple of bro's made it to him and apparently he was conscious for awhile and gave Marla's hand a squeeze. Docs say tonight is going to be an extremely rough and decisive one. Trying to get as many folks praying for him as we can.

Pinging for some recent information on Joel... funeral was in Indiana, and upcoming burial service in Arlington (July 7th).While there is more to the story, Joel's comrades would prefer to wait until Joel is at rest in Arlington before updating y'all. Details for the service remain as posted in #211.

Thanks for the ping. I'll try to make the burial service in Arlington. Joel was a good man and I'll continue to say prayers for his family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

i would like to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts. my father was a wonderful man. he was so courageous, intelligent (too much for his own good), and so damned funny. he has made me who i am. i only wish that the intellegence would be passed down through the father's side.
he was so proud to serve this country and even prouder to be a marine. i think that i am the proudest of him. when i would march in the Veteran's Day parade in the band, he would be at the front of us as pointman. he will always be MY pointman. i am blessed to say that i have had 25 wonderful years with him. i loved him more than anything and i always will. my favorite picture of him is in his combat gear.
i look forward to seeing some of you at the arlington services. July 7th at 11:00 am.
my mother (dad's first wife), brother, my boyfriend and i are all going to dc on friday to go see things that dad would have wanted us to see before the services.
my beliefs tell me that when dad entered heaven his vietnam buddies welcomed him home..............
thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers,
jennifer kernodle (daughter)
