Thanks for the info! I am sure that he has a chain of restaurants because his son, the former, louzy Bengals coach, is head of the chain. He went from football coach to head of the restaurant chain -- if he doesn't do better as the restaurant head then he did as a head coach, the restaurants are doomed!

(**shrug**) Some people feel 5% is too much...some feel ANY is too much...some, like the Dems trolling for NEA votes, would insist that 20% is too LITTLE.

Bob Graham is in the sunset of his career and he may be able to have his next "work day" as a greeter at Walmart if he could wake up. Lots of Floridians don't even remember that he was Gov. of Fla; he made such a lasting impression not. His gravitas is transparent and mostly hype. He reminds me of Jimmy Carter for some reason.

On the other hand, Republican Congressman Bill Young is very active, an advocate for his constituents and worthy of his position on the appropriations committee. There's no comparison - Young's work has been superior. (responding to your picture of Ketchup Kerry and Bob Intel Graham.

Rush is right again ... Bush has taken every single issue away from the dems and now they are left with going against their own issues ...

Hugely wasteful education spending in an area for which the federal government has no responsibility or authority, supporting the assault weapons ban renewal, wasting $15 billion on African AIDS, hugging up to the sodomite faction that never vote for us anyway, etc., etc.

I guess Rush does have it right if what he's saying is that with Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), signed into law by President Bush in January 2002, paved the way for IDEA reauthorization by making key reforms to ensure children with special needs get the results they deserve. Under NCLB, schools, school districts, and states are asked to show progress in educating children, including children with special needs. If expectations are not met, both parents and schools qualify for additional options and emergency help.

Under President Bush, federal funding for IDEA has increased by more than 50 percent. At the unprecedented level of funding requested by President Bush for FY 2004, the federal government will be paying approximately 19 percent of the overall cost of educating children with special needs. This is a share far greater than at any other time in history, and more than twice what it was during the last time Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and the White House. The IDEA legislation proposed by House Republicans would achieve the full 40 percent in the next seven years, contingent on reforms to improve results and reduce paperwork. LINK

Well ... I can see you have decided the repubs have just become the dems. I don't see it that way at all. I see it as a brilliant move. Why ? Because ... the BIG issues the dems always use like education and CFR - now, here they are dissing the very plan which Ted Kennedy wrote! How stupid is that?

Secondly, how about the tax cuts. By having a sunset clause is brilliant. When the campaigning gets heated, the President can say the dems want to raise your taxes - instead of renewing the tax provisions which are about to expire.

Thirdly, even though I didn't agree with CFR - by signing it, the President accomplished 2 things: it took away McCain's lever, and it took away McCain's constant drip, drip, drip to the media.

I believe the President is expecting such an upsurge of repubs in the Congress, it will allow him to set about fixing all these issues. After all ... the dems are going to be out of power for probably 40 years.

Actually, President Bush has been leading the dems around by the nose since the campaign. They just didn't know it. They fell into every trap he set for them. And ... all the while they have done nothing but call him names and disparage everything he's done ... while he has remained cool and calm and collected - and totally decimated their whole party ... and I don't recall hearing him call the dems any names in the process.
