if homosexuality is something one is born with, then by definition it is genetic. if this is so, WHERE IS THE GAY GENE?

Neither should we witch-hunt gay people for their private sexual behavior.

What if one is a closed-door pederast? At what point must the state take an interest in sexuality conducted in privacy?

In other words, at what point does witch hunt become protection of the innocent?

Or do we simply permit in private every behavior defined as or associated with sexuality?

A very wise man, about 35 years ago, warned that divorcing sexuality from its procreative purpose would create a slippery slope upon which definitive curbs upon sexual behavior would become impossible. (Pope Paul VI, Humanae Vitae. I think we have arrived.

I think the mistake people make is feeling they have to choose one over the other. Case in point, I have an adult cousin who is gay. Growing up, his older brother was as heterosexual as can be, captain of the football team, the school heartthrob to all of the girls, etc. My gay cousin, from an extremely young age was always more interested in engaging in girl's activities such a dolls, etc. There was no significant difference in the way the two were raised, therefore I feel my cousin was indeed born gay. If the nurture argument is correct 100% of the time, why do the vast majority of gays have heterosexual siblings?

That's not to say people can become gay. Witness the many survivors of sexual abuse who end up gay to cope with their previous tragedies.

Neither should we witch-hunt gay people for their private sexual behavior.

Gay lifestyles are their own punishment. Most die by the age of 45 anyway. The push for Gay rights is a sham. Gays have the same rights excepting marriage, which is simply a religious statement which they reject anyway. What they want is special rights.

All men are created equal, some just want to be mandated by law to be a bit more equal.

Always remember the rules of homosexuality:

1.) 'Homosexuals' don't reproduce they recruit

2.) To a mentally healthy person (heterosexual), sex is something they do
To a mentally ill person ('homosexual'), sex is what they are

3.) Any exposure of children to homosexual behavior is child abuse

With logic like this:

"In other words, the gay rights lobby should not be treated in the same way as the civil rights and gender rights lobby."

suggesting that somehow one liberal program is different than the other two liberal programs, the moral battle has already been lost. How can one speak fondly of two disasterous "rights" movements that trumped thousands of years of property law, "civil rights" and "gender rights", and then ask to exclude some other special rights group?

I didn't "choose" to be attracted to women. Neither did I "choose" to be repulsed by the thought of sex with another man. I can't imagine how a homosexual would be able to simply choose their sexuality, when I never did.

My guess is that for gay men, the thought of sex with another woman gives repulses them about as much as sex with another man does for me.

I find it hard to believe that an adolescent who is just discovering his sexuality would choose to be attracted to his/her same gender. Even in today's liberal society, they are going to be ostracized by their classmates at a time when they most want to be like everyone else.

Considering that hormones are given to promote the desired gender of sex-change individuals, it stands to reason that some individuals are simply born with fewer of the hormones that make them sexually attracted to the opposite gender. (My question has always been -- why not just give them the hormones that would encourage an attraction to the opposite gender?)

Just because they can't find a gay gene doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Is there some gene in my body that determines why I prefer chocolate to pepperment?

I think homosexuality is often a combination of nurture and nature. And for those who use the Bible to condemn them, it needs to be said that adultery is an equal sin in the sight of the Lord.(Though I doubt we will ever see a parade of "proud" adulterers, or a demand for "adulterers month")

While I don't like the idea of homosexuals being ostracized by society, neither do I think they should have special rights and their efforts at recruitment should be shut down.
