Excuse me, but are you about 6'2", dark hair, brown eyes, mustache?

Pardon me for being nosy, but I am just trying to see if my husband signed up for FR and didn't tell me.

Oh, God. I remember I was the last person in the family who was still up. Finally, finally, I heard Bush had won, so I started for bed. I heard that Gore would be making his concession speech momentarily. (Of course, we all know now Gore was getting a cell call while in his limo--and then there was the famous "snippy" phone conversation, but I digress.)

I put on a walkman which had a radio. I wanted to hear at least the beginning of Gore's concession, but I had to have the headphones b/c everyone else was asleep. I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited... finally gave up and fell asleep. I awoke to---well, you KNOW what I awoke to. I awoke to the beginning of WHAT WE WOULD HAVE SEEN FOUR OR EIGHT YEARS EARLIER, IF CLINTON HAD NOT WON OR STOLEN THOSE TWO EARLIER ELECTIONS.

Your tagline reminds me of my license plate frame.

Very good points. I also see Geragos as one of the purveyors of the problem for which he will NOW demand that the Judge fix. The truth is, the change of venue to anywhere in California won't make any difference. I'm with you, I think the change of venue will be denied. IMO Geragos has NEVER been comfortable with this Judge and frankly submitting a pile of "empty" crap on possible other suspects likely clinched it for the Judge. He knows for a fact now that Geragos is shooting blanks and pounding the table. LOL

Well, even if a change of venue was granted, still, it's not like Geragos would get to choose where the case was ultimately heard. So it's just possible he could end up in a worse (for him) venue than the one he's in now. I am not familiar enough with the county-by-county politics of CA to know what would be to his liking. Except, of course, I know that the LA area has lots of wackos, etc., and I know that those super-tolerant people in the area close in to SF are so prudish that they disapprove of Hooters restaurants. (Ahem.)

IF a change of venue were to happen, the ONLY place I would hate to see it is in downtown LA! That's NOT going to happen. I have this visual in my head today of the Geragos (in total disarray defense team), having a brainstorming session. Matty baby is likely storming up and down the room!! ROFLMAO!! He's probably seen the warrant affidavits etc. already and they are likely listening to Snotty incriminating the bejeezus out of himself of the tapes. OH, dear, I have ABSOLUTELY NO sympathy - NONE!!

I think certain aspects of this defense are going to be especially hard for them. For example, it appears that no one knows exactly when Laci died. So how could Scott bring forth even a faked alibi?

It seems like they'll all have to work mainly from the time she was allegedly last seen or heard alive. So the prosecution will be contending that this was at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 23. If Scott wants to contend that she was actually seen the next day, he'll have to present something as proof. No doubt he'll put on one or more of the so-called witnesses such as the Mitchells. But the Mitchells have already been caught in inaccuracies. And the high school teacher guy seems like the type who will go so far and no farther. He is not claiming that it was necessarily Laci he saw. In fact, he says he was focusing on the dog. Well, he MIGHT have seen the dog in the park b/f about 10:30, as the dog was running loose. But that doesn't really prove much.

That leaves the Maldonados, and Scott himself. I don't know much about the Maldonados, except as I remember their account may contradict that of the Mitchells. Then there's Scott himself. Given Scott's known various stupid behaviors, they will have to think long and hard b/f they decide to put HIM on the witness stand.

"This is an incredibly dramatic decision and obviously a big win for Vice President Al Gore," she reported breathlessly as the decision was released.
All that therapy -----down the drain!

I hope the nightmares don't start again. (sob)

When the election was called for Bush, we were jumping up and down and screaming and laughing and cheering! Our neighbors were laughing at us (the liberals!) from over the wall. We even photographed the TV as it said Bush won! I will never forget that.

And then came that phone call when Gore took back his concession and called Bush snippy.

What an election to have lived through. What a time that was.

I am sure our extended family was not the only one to have a political gag order on it that Thanksgiving. It was like the Civil War for polarizing families.

No way could you put Scotty on. He lies so much he'd lie about what time of day it was, or how to spell his name. He doesn't know how to STOP lying.

It was horrible! The whole set of maneuvers by Gore had all the earmarks of the Clinton playbook. That was the scariest part of all. I actually wondered, what if this isn't settled by Inauguration Day? What if somehow Clinton finagles another term, or even an extra DAY of presidency out of this? The idea of Clinton is scary enough by itself; the idea of Clinton in an uncertain situation like that, with no boundaries of precedent to curtail his megalomania, was terrifying.

I was cheering that Florida judge on. Now I can't even remember his name! When the people started yelling and demonstrating outside that room in Dade County--protesting when the vote counters tried to take their act to the back room--I was relieved. I heard someone called up "the Cubans" and they came down there and gave the liberal power-grabbers hell. These would be the Cubans whose families were specifically screwed by Castro in the 50's--60's. Those people will NEVER forget, and I don't think they will ever vote democrat.

Al Gore was getting crazier by the day. I believe that he has obsessive-compulsive personality disorder. I thought he'd NEVER go away! It was fun to joke about him early in the campaign, when he was having so much trouble with his tenant in Tennessee (he wouldn't fix their toilet), but it was no fun any more when he was pulling that coup attempt.

I remember some other fun things about the campaign, such as Al saying his mother-in-law took the same medicine as the dog, and saying that hers cost much more. People used to ask (on internet forums), do Al and Tipper have two dishes on the floor--one for the dog, and one for "Mother"?

"Point-Counterpoint"

But nobody does it like the (very) old SNL used to...as in:

"Jane, you ignorant slut!"

Now there was some honest expression! ;)

But yes, lately Geraldo reminds me more of his talk show circus days than of a journalist. Cosby, Greta and the rest are becoming just like him, or maybe it's Jerry Springer. Regardless, Fox is losing a lot of class with this thing. Weekly World News, televised.

But you've just provided FNC's "continuous coverage" so we don't even have to go turn on the teevee this morning! ;)

I provided the same coverage in 5 Seconds, that they take 20 mins and 5 ON-SITE reporters to give you.

I sick of the same stuff repeated on all their shows.

When they mention lacy peterson I turn the channel.

"Jane, you ignorant slut!"

ROFL!!! Those were the days!

I only saw the original Point-Counterpoint a couple of times. Just enough to make me appreciate the Sat. Nite Live version. I think by now more people remember the latter. If they ever tried to revive Point-Counterpoint, they'd find themselves with the audience unable to keep a straight face.
