We had a great time at our freep this afternoon, FREEPERS starting to show up around 2 PM with their signs and masks. Some other splinter groups were there to join in the fun as well as some residents who just hated the dragon lady. Many were honking their horns as they drove by. The Dragon Lady came late as usual while her minions waited in the heat from 7AM!! Check back later for the pictures.

Those who were in attendance were: Firebrand; Race Bannon; Doctor Raoul; Coleus; Captain Culpepper; ml/nj; Ziva; kphockey2; Exit 148; I hope I remembered everyone, if not just add your name.

We got the word out about free republic and recruited some people to come and join us. Some heard about us on the Sean Hannity Show and came down to meet us after that, it was Race Bannon who called from his cell phone, they kept him on hold for about an hour.

News 12 was there and took some video; however, they did not show us on TV.

It was nice seeing all you again from the tri-state chapter of the Free Republic and good to meet the new freepers who came down. Some stayed in the background a little bit since they were new at the game and were glad they showed up and will probably see them again. Ok, gotta to the airport now, see ya later, Until next time...

Just three things to add to the report.

As a gag, I told the crowd that we felt bad for them that Hillary wouldn't conduct a normal book signing, one where the author reads from their work and answers questions.

So we'd do the next best thing and WE would read from Chapter 1 of Hillary's book, which we did, sort of. Over the megaphone, I recited the lyrics of "Stand By Your Man".

I got through about half of it when the Captain from the Ridgewood Police made it across the street. He suggested that the megaphone might rile up the line and that with the number of officers assigned that would be a problem from them, so we decided not to "interact verbally" (at least with the megaphone). Of course later in the day as they did a few tacky things, we did provide an appropriate response.

I scouted the location a few days before and would NEVER have expected the physical intinidation that a few attempeted, like the guy who went towards Race. Rich liberals are more angry than most any kind of poor people.

There was one minor "incident" with an SUV. I stood at a curb, at a "crosswalk". Every so often on that street, there is a gap between parking spots that's stripped off to so no parking. An SUV left and another backed into the space, continuing through the parking space and the "crosswalk" and hitting my right arm as I held up a sign.

As it was effectively behind me, I didn't see it coming and it pushed my arm out of the way. It was going slow, but the power of an automobile is still impressive. It's going to do what it wants to do and you'll just get moved.

The police officer behind us saw it happened and detained the driver briefly and informed them that I'd been hit by the vehicle. They said they didn't know it, but apologized at the officer's suggestion.

From the choice of words the officer used, I get the impression that he felt the driver might have done it deliberately. So thanks to the officer for interveining.

Personally, it's reminded me that autos are extremely powerful and to not get complacent out on the road.
