July 13, 2003 -- More women are cheating on their husbands - and doing it without remorse, sex researchers say. A stunning 90 percent of adulterous wives told one Manhattan researcher they suffered "no guilt," but rather felt "entitled" to the pleasure and excitement of their secret trysts, said Susan Shapiro Barash, a gender-studies professor and author.

And I was taken to task by some readers for even suggesting that women want the best of both worlds without consequences.

"Women feel entitled because they're not getting what they need in the marriage. That's why women today have affairs," ---- So much for communication, let's just go out and find something else because I don't like where things are right now and I don't feel like talking to the guy cause he won't change anyway.

Marxism has taught them that the concept of "honor" is for fools. Rather, replace it with childish self-involvement, and live a television life free of rules and consequences. And find oneself at thirty-five wondering what the heck happened.

The growing attitude being preached is the - It's all about "me", and what "I" want.

I bet if the courts start ruling that if the parent that leaves the home for another, must pay the child support, these statistics will go down. Right now, women are having thier cake and eating it too!

This is sickening. American men are considered a big joke here but elsewhere.

Prior to the Sexual Revolution (so they say) women were not getting what they wanted in marriage. All the pleasure was the man's and women's needs went unfulfilled. Now, we've had the revolution. Everyone (just about) experiments with premarital sex. Everyone (just about) has read a book about improving your lovelife. And women are still being unfulfilled (sexually) in marriage.

Some problems may have no solution.

A freind of mine, loved his wife to nearly worshipping her. He gave her all kinds of earthly things he could afford. He wasn't wealthy, but he did the best he could. She married him, knowing he didn't have money and finer things. She came from a similar background, they were a match! When you saw the two of them together, you can tell they were still infatuated with each other. They had 2 children, a girl and a boy. One day, it seems as if she (wife) woke up and wanted more! She met a wealthier man, left her husband (my buddy) and then filed for divorce. After 10 years of marriage, and him staying faithful even to this day! She petitioned for custody and won, based on the larger income of her newly found sugar-daddy. He is left flipping a $1000 a month child support bill. He only makes $2500 a month. Why should he be left paying a child support bill, when it is she who left? It was she who broke the vow/promise to him, not the other way around. Why did the courts show favor to a wondering/lieing/cheating wife, yet punished a man who was commited and faithful?

I fail to see the logic...

This very same situation happened to my brother. However, he got the best revenge...

When his daughter turned 18, she told her mother that she hated her and the way she treated her, and moved back home to be with her father(my brother).

Some things take time to work out for the best.

One answer-no fault divorce. Bork would say this is one of the downfalls of our society.

"I fail to see the logic..."

It's simple: He was the man.

On another note-I am part of that new generation of married men whose wife's work skills and current paycheck far out strip mine. I have always been fairly liberal about women's issues because my deaf-blind mother was very liberal. You learn quickly about equality in a marriage when you have no more leverage than your partner. I also tend to think I am part of the new generation of men who are stepping up to the plate and taking a more active role in the home life-one of the women's groups biggest complaints-lazy husbands.

Yeah that's great.

If the man fools around, he's at fault, and he loses 50% of everything, plus continuing child support.

If the wife fools around, the man loses 50% of everything and he's responsible for continuing child support.

It sure is a fair system!

Men are the fall guys.
Women of today are selfish and self centered.
Who ends up suffering? The kids.
While Mom is finding her way to be self loving and going for something "better", the kids lose their daddy.
It is soooo sad.
Daddy is needed by those kids. Whether women like it or not.

Child support should be apportioned without regard to fault for the break-up of the marriage. The kids are entitled to support no matter who strayed.

I'm in favor of returning fault to the equation in terms of property division, however. And no, I don't care how messy and ugly the divorce cases get. That's part of the pain of screwing up, have it all paraded in open court for the edification and amusement of the general public.

You rang?

Yes, bring back fault based divorce. As I said earlier, let's see it proven. In open court. Before God and Man.

I'd love to hear the judge saying, hey, you got up in front of the whole world and pledged your faithful love to this man, now lets see, before the whole world, how you were lying to all of us when you said that. Obviously, you can reverse the genders there, as well.

The humiliation and embarrasment might serve as a useful tonic to those in attendance. Along the lines of "damn, I don't want to be in that poor sap's shoes!"
