the Religious Nut Party There IS a Religious Nut Party, it's the DemocRATS.
Their religion has two main tenents: environmentalism and sexual adventurism.
Don't think they take those things religiously?
Just try speaking out in public against either.

Well if you can be optimistic living in an efficient socialist state, I ought to be a little more cheery living in a totally corrupt one.
You're right about the Warsaw Pact.
But sometimes lately I almost think the sheeple are sleeping less soundly.
But there are still many a long hour til dawn.

Outsider here. Certainly do not presume to get into American politics. Do not pay taxes and cannot vote.
Having said that - A word on Mr Foxworthy. Yes, I have heard the man, now I turn anything off when I hear or see this individual.
Like Roger Moore, he makes a huge joke out of certain people. That is ok of course. This man is on safe ground with his humour. Perhaps people do not dare criticise. All good fun, of course. Problem is that he is a white liberals dream. Pour on the stereotype and make believe it is fun.
Ok Foxworthy, you gets Peter Libra's gold medal. You deserve it. Question is when you mount the podium, Where should the gold medal be put?
When and if people see though his "hate' which is what it is, he won't seem funny anymore. Flame away. Semi-icons are there to be shot down.

This A$$hole just doesn't understand that it only takes two words to unify all of these splinters and many dim as well.

But there are still many a long hour til dawn.It is always darkest before the dawn, after 40 years of exile in this socalist hell, I think that the tide is turning.
When I look at the young FReepers in the Boston area and their conservitive ideals, and the youth of the libertarians, I think that in time we can have another Gadansk.

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a Republican. A person has to be something if he wants to play in the game. If fellow Rs are doing things that embarass, call them out, demand justice!

Ok, let's repeal all laws and let people do what they want because you don't want "big government".
We are a Christian country, we need to pass laws that reflect that.
Man, I thought this was a conservative forum. some of you guys sound like appeazers to me

There is such a thing as a healthy society made up of individual citizens who decide what the norm is in their communities.
Society has a right to protest federally funded public schools agenda to present this diseased life choice before their children as normal or without hazzards.
In fact the public school has no business what so ever discussing it or teaching anything besides the three R's. Morality is best left to the parents to instruct.

There are those people that want to be left alone,
and there are those people that refuse to leave others alone
Ping for a common sense, hence controversial, article.

You are correct in all your statements.
In an earlier post I took the same position on schools. I just did not expand on it.
But you cannot force morality and at some point any power you give government to try and do so will turn on you.
Government needs only the most minimal amount of power to enforce a basic rule of law.

Oops, part right. I don't think we are 'adventuring' in Iraq. We are doing some overdue housecleaning.
To: My2Cents
You make a very good point. Too many people castigate Snowe, for example, over the 35% they don't agree with rather than the 65% they do agree with.
Some realism is in order. Tom Foley was as liberal as they come, but he was always a big 2nd Amendment supporter. When asked why, he replied that he would be tossed out of office if he backed gun control.
In many areas of the country, a Republican can only be elected if they are pro-abortion. I know that outrages some people on this forum, but the alternative would be a pro-abortion 'Rat. In choosing political candidates, heed the words of Mayor Ed Koch: "If you agree with me on 9 of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 of 12, see a psychiatrist."

While the premise of a limited government is to be hailed this writer is not correct in his break down of 'republican' factions or the ideologies.
I am a Right Wing Christian Conservative, I am also a Fiscal Conservative. I dont hate gays or brown people. I am anti-abortion and anti- federal tax. I don't want to outlaw porn or guns. I don't want D.C. funding welfare or public schools or churches. I do support State and local control even if they want to display the Ten Commandments, a Buddhist bell or a statue of MLK. I am against the Drug War but not for legalizing pot across the board. (it should be a state and local issue).
This writer only wants to separate us so that we cannot work together on the issue we agree upon.
