BERLIN, Sept 3 (AFP) - Hollywood hearthrob Johnny Depp has slammed US President George W. Bush's policy on Iraq, calling him "one of the worst liars I have ever seen," in an interview with German magazine Stern to appear Thursday.
Depp, who lives in France with his wife, pop singer Vanessa Paradis, and two children, told the magazine that "grown-up men and women in positions of power" in the US government had shown themselves to be "idiots" in choosing to go to war against Iraq and attacking Paris for its opposition to the war.
The 40-year-old, who plays a swashbuckling hero in the summer blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," said he was perfectly happy in his farmhouse near St. Tropez with Paradis, 30, daughter Lily Rose, 4, and his one-year-old son Jack.
Although he still has a house in Los Angeles, Depp told Stern he "could not imagine living there" for a long period with his family.
The once hard-living actor who had long relationships with model Kate Moss and actress Winona Ryder told the Thursday edition of German magazine Bunte that meeting Paradis had put him on the straight and narrow.
"Being a father puts things in perspective and gives me strength," he said.

Arrested? It kinda looks like they're... Taking advantage of him in a rude, prison sort of way ;-) BTW, after Winona dumped him he changed the tattoo on his shoulder to "Wino__ Forever." I am NOT making that up.

Well, his charactor in Pirates was a bit feminine.

I am concerned. Perhaps we should consult him on foreign policy more often.
I did like him in Pirates of the Carribean, though. Kook or not, he's a decent actor. And he also has the courage of his convictions to put his money where his mouth is and stay out of the US - unlike Alec Balwin, Babs, et al, who threatened to leave if Bush was elected.

Who is Depp? I dunno; but with statements like his, he ought to change his name to Dipshit.

Notice how he waited for two things:
1) His Disney movie already raked in your dollars
2) He didn't have the guts to berate the President a month earlier when the Libs first realized this President's appeal is his HONESTY. I give them credit for noticing one of his key STRENGTHS, but their ruse at accusing him of dishonesty seems to only hold traction with Hollyleft clowns.

Depp leaves America? Why this is so tragic, I can hardly stand it. First Altman and then Depp move to France. What will become of us if all liberals leave the country permanently?
I know, but I can dream can't I?

Doesn't that mean that he doesn't lie well? What's the difference between a good liar and a bad liar? The best liar -- and the worst liar? I believe Johnny boy has just given the President an unintentional compliment.
I'd have to agree -- the President doesn't lie well. Depp is an idiot -- he needs to learn how to articulate what he really means.

I will not be renting or buying any more deep movies.
Johnny boy has not done so well in numerous other countries either!
By 1974, he was apparently known as a drug user, vandal and thief by his peers and was suspended from school for flashing his buttocks at one of his teachers.
High School dropout
In and out of one marriage and three engagements by the age of 30.
Also in 1989 he was arrested in Vancouver & charged with assault & mischief in connection with a fight he had with a hotel security guard. The charges were later dropped. IN CANADA!
October 31, 1993 River Phoenix died of "acute multiple drugs intoxication" (to quote Los Angeles county coroner Scott Carrier) on 31 October, in the Viper Room, the "cool underground nightclub" on Sunset Strip co-owned by Johnny Depp.
In 1994 Depp was arrested for trashing a $1200-a-night hotel room in New York City.
In January 1999 Depp was arrested for fighting with paparazzi in front of a London restaurant. NOT THE US But England.
He left Hollywood because he deplored what he called its "bad influences and superficial values."
He has no come out with violent films such as BLOW and hugely gratuitously violent film named Once upon a time in Mexico.
He really is delusional if he thinks he can judge anything or anyone.
