Prove it... show me ONE thing where he states he will give them permanent residency.

Once again, from your own post at #275...

"Now we have to move forward with the whole thing and to look at it, what we're going to do with all the people that are undocumented immigrants here in this state. What should we do? Should we have them to stay here, which I think is the right way to do, but how do you then include them in our society, how do you make it official, how do you make it legal?" he said. He added he would try to team up with other states with large immigrant populations and lobby the federal government to address the issue.

What could "stay here" and "make it legal" mean, but granting them permanent residency?

Do youreally think Arnold wants to legalize Illegals, and then make them leave?

C'mon, words have meanings, and the words of Arnold that you've posted mean that he wants Illegals to stay. That's Amnesty.

If you want to prove that Arnold now believes otherwise, you're going to need to come up with a more recent comment to that effect.

You, too? "The only difference I see between Busty and Arnold is that when Arnold goes to raise taxes, the Republicans in the legislature will cooperate."

Please tell me on the list below the positions that Cruz would agree with?

Thank you.

I just hate it when pious conservatives practice their exclusive little "I'll decide if you are conservative enough to get into my little club".

Believe me, I understand. Perhaps it's now time to graduate.

Temporary work permits ARE legal. I've heard some go to 6 years before renewal comes up, but am not positive.

"By the way, if you are planning to throw the vote down the McClintock hole, are you up to speed on Bustamante's views since you would be passively voting for him?"

Don't fret surfer boy, I live in God's Country so I won't be voting in your election. Looks like you're gonna end up with either a Hollywood gun-grabbing liberal, or an Aztlan gun-grabbing racist.

Again, I think you serve some agenda. He's been interviewed and answered very well in may areas you keep bringing up.

PS: BY law you can't touch the education budget. He has to change the law by way of the people at an election to do that. So much for your being up to speed on even that.

No excuse to send your vote down a McHole and end up passively enabling a Democrat victory. That isn't conservative.
Since you are in effect electing Bustamante, please go look up his views and familiarize yourself with his radical leftist agenda, because if you vote McSpoiler, you have just helped elect the most radical of Democrats!

A vote for McClintock is a vote in fact for Bustamante by denying that vote from the Republican front runner who could have won.

The polls shows McC supporters say "my way or the highway."

Typical of the extreme, no compromise members of the right to let somebody even worse get in due to their stubborness.

You said "C'mon, words have meanings"

He wants families established here and working already to be "legal"... work permits are "legal"... work permits are not "permanent residency".

Words have meanings.

I have to go get some work done... have fun promoting your unfounded "facts".

After reading through this thread it is becomming apparent that Tamsey and many others are frustrated because they have misjudged the nature of this forum.

They can't seem to convince others that Schwarzenegger is an acceptable alternative. Their zeal to succeed is, I fear, frustrated by a false assumption.

The problem for Tamsey et al appears to be that they feel FreeRepublic is a Republican arena. It is not. It is a conservative forum and many if not most on this forum vote their political philosophy, regardless of the candidate's party affiliation or the affect on any political party.

Trying to convince conservatives that a liberal will do is a classic application of the 2nd law of thermodynamics. I suspect that if forum members were polled only a plurality would be registered Republicans.

Don't forget that in 1968, then Governor Reagan passed an abortion bill in California.

He also signed the Mulford Act in 1967. This act was gun control.

New Yorker turned Californian decades ago and my family name has great significance in our American History...Thank you very much.
I did surf as a child because I like to try new things. Stopped when I found sharks in the same waves twice. I figured ot is their ocean. I claim the land.

I am in favor of getting the most conservative people elected to move a more conservative agenda forward. I am with you on that 100%, but in this case the more conservative Republican is way down the line and unelectable.
If he were electable, you and I would not be crossing paths.

Had the reverse happened, I bet Arnold would have had the class to drop out long ago. Arnold is at least a man, you have to give him that.

You're against everything Arnold is for? Just so I'm clear: That means you're FOR Partial Birth Abortion, against parental notification, against cutting taxes and bringing businesses back to California, against Worker's Compensation reform and stricter border patrols, against "English only" and for driver's licenses for illegals. Wow!

You just proved you aren't even READING the proof you ask for. I gave you that exact cite back in post #279.

OK, I missed that one. Let's take a look....

"What he doesn't understand is that people like myself waited 15 years to get citizenship," Schwarzenegger, who came to the United States from Austria in the 1960s, said. "There are people who have been waiting 20 years. I find it unfair to all of a sudden push the whole thing with undocumented immigrants and say they should immediately get citizenship."

No Amnesty has ever granted "immediate citizenship" to Illegals, nor am I aware of any proposals to do so. Amnesties always involve the changing of status to legal, through the issuance of a green card.

Therefore, to oppose the granting of "immediate citizenship" is not to oppose Amnesty, as that has never been the term of an Amnesty for Illegals.

In short, this is a red herring, as Arnold could very easily support legalizing Illegals without giving them immediate citizenship.

Correction on your 9/9/poll:

Schwarzenegger is at 25%, not 22% as you have him.

"According to Republican and Democratic sources, the poll shows Bustamante leading Schwarzenegger 30 percent to 25 percent with state Sen. Tom McClintock (search) at 13 percent and Peter Ueberroth (search) at 7 percent."

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,96785,00.html

You also left out:

The Field Poll asked voters whom they would support if McClintock dropped out of the race and found that Schwarzenegger was ahead of Bustamante 33 percent to 31 percent.

Pro 13. pro business friendly and wants to change the tax code to favor business and jobs.
Marriage is between a man and woman only.
He wants to get special interest out of the state capital.
He will block and fight the repeal of illegal drivers licenses and so forth.

Don't need to go on and on, get off the McClintock websites and read what this guy is for.

This "conservative forum" has evolved into a Republican forum among other things. Things change and I think it may no longer reflect the views of the "pure" elite of conservative opinion. We are here, the impure so called conservatives, so I suggest we deal with one another. Unless of course, we want just discourse and no real accomplishment in influencing how this country is run. The country has changed, is changing everyday. How are we going to run it if we establish exclusionary rules.
