I don't back spoilers who help get Democrats elected.

No, you back liberal Arnold the spoiler, who's trying to get himself elected.

McClintock was the first Republican to file his candidacy. It's this damn Hollywood RINO that's the spoiler. He's spoiling our party, and our beliefs. He won't have my vote. Period. I'll stay home rather than vote for another fake Republican.

Arnold supports the ban on partial birth abortion and is for parental notification!

But he is pro-Choice for the rest of the abortions.

Arnold is against illegal immigation -- Cruz welcomes them.

Arnold supports Amnesty. Get your facts straight.

Arnold is against driver's license for illegals -- Cruz is for them.

I cede this point.

Shall I go on?

Please do. You only listed one other difference between Arnold and Cruz beside taxes...

The perfect is the enemy of the good. McClintock supporters need to know this. Republicans need to know this.

The California state GOP party lists the sanctity of life as one of their core beliefs. It also ists a whole plethora of other beliefs that Schwarzenegger doesn't hold. It appears that California "conservatives" don't care about anything besides the easy "win".

"You've neglected how frequently that Republican establishment has made it their priority to fight against the grass roots in this state. "

===

Like it or not, we have a choice between Republicans and Democrats. And "you are either with us or against us".

If you are working against the Democrats, by definition, and consequence, you are helping the Democrats.

Please drop out, Mr. McClintock! Absentee ballots are already out. The election has begun!

Tell Jack Kemp, Bill Bennett, George W. Bush, Karl Rove, and Gerry Parsky.

Loyalty needs to be more than a one-way street.

If you are working against the Democrats, by definition, and consequence, you are helping the Democrats.

As succinct a summation of the logic of the pro-RNC position as I've seen. Thanks.

As long as you're wishing pain and suffering on California, allow me to return the favor and hope that a class five gulf hurricane tears through Louisiana and clears up that nasty kudzu and nutria problem you've got.

If it destroys a thirty thousand homes, maybe your property values will increase.

I'm only hoping for the best for you, you know.

You two are acting foolishly.

You want to burn California in order to save it.

It is possible this problem will solve itself. We've been listening for the past two weeks as McC's supporters were claiming he was surging. Now we've got a new Field Poll -- no surge. Survey USA is due out tomorrow. If their numbers more-or-less confirm these, with McC still in the low teens, and Schwarzenegger trailing Bustamante by five points or so, that will be confirmation that McC's campaign has no traction. At that point, even if McC hangs on, it may be that enough of his supporters will do the right thing. At the very least, they may hold off casting absentee ballots until closer to the election. I've certainly seen a lot of people here on FR say they want to vote for McC, but will wait until just before the election for the final polls, to see if he has a chance. If enough people do that, the problem might be solved even if McC doesn't withdraw.

"You two are acting foolishly. You want to burn California in order to save it."

This is a good point. But Thomas Jefferson was quoted as saying that revolution is necessary. A political revolution is needed in the state, and in the country for that matter. In state politics. In immigration. [We will never do something sensible statewide and nationally until we are desperate.] In education. I am hoping and praying for the precipitating event that creates revolutions.

But it won't happen by electing Arnold or McClintock. The press will make them the problem during the next budget cycle.

So, flame away, but this Republican is seriously considering voting for Bustamante. And not because I have one iota of respect for him as a politician. But I know that he will drag the Democrats down with him next year.

This happens in business all the time, by the way. Some smart young buck or well-connected idiot preens himself for the big time when he isn't ready or qualified. Those that know better let him get the big assignment or promotion and let him fail. The same for Bustamante.

"...But it won't happen by electing Arnold or McClintock. The press will make them the problem during the next budget cycle."

Right. Just the same way that they denounced Gray Davis for his mismanagement.

Nothing Bustamante will do will be wrong as seen by the press. They'll 'celebrate diversity' and blame everything on former Governor Pete Wilson and Enron for putting us in this mess as if Gray Davis never existed. The Ninth Circuit Court will do everything they can to help, and the USSC won't hear a thing about it.

Republicans like Tom McClintock will be blamed by the press for steadfastly opposing Governor Bustamante's tax-burdening budgetary plans for 2004 -- 'LA Times Editorial: 'Bustamante's Tough Love: The Right Man, The Right Plan'. I've seen this movie before.

The recall is your 'Revolution', and you want to vote in Bustamante. Brilliant.

Maybe you could help exacerbate California's woes by travelling up and down the state setting brushfires?
