LONDON — The heroes of Eastern Europe's anti-communist movement denounced Fidel Castro's "Stalinist" regime in Cuba yesterday and demanded action from the West to encourage its peaceful overthrow.
Former Polish President Lech Walesa, former Czech President Vaclav Havel and former Hungarian President Arpad Goncz made their call in a letter to the Daily Telegraph and several other leading European newspapers.

Nowhere is Castro more popular than in western Europe -- except possibly in American news media.

G'morning, my friend.

Goodmorning JohnHuang2.
To: Rationality
They already do resent their conditions. But the fear outweights their resentment, and why shouldn't it? Their only hope betrayed them at the Bay of Pigs, left them to die, just as in Iraq the Kurd's only hope abandoned them and 300,000 Kurds paid the price of putting their faith in a country with the attantion span of a two-year old.
Cubans need an ally to rely on, just as we did in our Revolution. But once betrayed, there is little hope to fire a revolution. Their hated leader spits on the US and sows death and misery in the Americas and beyond while we bend to his will; why shouldn't they fear Castro and see him as untouchable, when he keeps even America at bay and humble?
And every act Castro gets away with reminds people of the old betrayal. We fight terrorism in every hemisphere but seem incompetant or unwilling to fight it within 100 miles of home.
