No kidding. If they would learn not to overcook their fish they would do more business.
They have the world's wimpiest rainbow trout, too. They used to have great lagostinos and it was worth going there for that, but I don't think they carry it now. We haven't been to a red lobster in years.

So if FR opened a restaurant, what dishes/cuisine would we offer?

Darden Restaurants Inc. Wednesday said it had replaced the head of Red Lobster, its biggest chain, after an all-you-can-eat crab promotion went awry. I don't suppose my observation that "a fish rots from the head down" would be particularly welcome at this juncture, would it?

Talk about not knowing your customer base. Reb Lobster goers are not there because they prefer quality over quantity. They're there to stuff their gullets with rubbery "seafood."

This story is total BS. I smell something more than FISHY in this story. My guess is that they dumped this Affirmitive Action glass cealing breaking, bimbo, because she was a flop in more than her Crab-fest.
""Higher-than-expected crab expense, along with other issues at Red Lobster,..""
Their are dozens of layers between the top dog COO, and a marketing promotion, and my guess is that she surrounded herself with a bunch of assorted asskissing freaks..none of which were worth their seasoned salt. Look for a "mass resignation fest" in the top tier of this once proud chain.
"People want to see the food and maybe we spent too much time talking about the love," he said.....DUH fest.. *<]:\

D'oh!
Just damn.
If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
[As i mentioned, the B/C & JD! lists are going to float into and out of whack over the forseeable future, while I try to cobble a rig back together for myself. My apologies for any incovenience or misunderstandings in this time frame. New signups/removals may be flaky in this time-frame as well; please bear with me, and keep in mind you may have to FReepmail me more than once for me to get it done. Thanks again!]

>> Darden executives said Red Lobster management had badly miscalculated how many times customers would refill their plates after paying $20 for an "endless" crab entree. Meanwhile, crab prices were going up, sending the profit margin crashing. "It wasn't the second helping on all-you-can-eat but the third," said company chairman Joe R. Lee on a conference call.
It appears my wife and I are partly responsible. We ate about a "ton" of snow crabs and butter (in one sitting, but over an extended period of time, or course).

Here's a tip. Never, ever eat at a seafood resteraunt whose HQ is in Des Moines, Iowa.
To: jimbo123
Red Lobster is the Jack-in-the-Box of seafood.
