Absolutely, "the wording was a little suspect." Bingo! Now, I didn't see him say this--I didn't see him on TV--but we know people will sometimes split hairs when it comes to telling the whole story, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ron were one of those who pulls that sort of trick.

I'm no expert on cell phones, but it's been my experience that I can no longer even halfway tell "where" most phone number originate or are "anchored"--whereas before cellphones were common, I could often tell just by the first three numbers, more or less, where the owner of the phone lived.

And remember Tradecorp had a little office in Modesto. He could've told Amber it was a cellphone gotten for him by his company, or any number of similar lies.

And yes, Spunky, isn't it kind of a weird experience nowadays--when we called someone in the past we knew where they were; now they could be anywhere!

According to the court document it appears that she has reason to believe the scumbags (unnamed doe 1-50) were getting ready to make a profit off of some kind of book deal or movie or something and she has moved fast to put a stop to it.

BTW, isn't it odd that this supposed "private detective" friend of Amber's hasn't found his way to the press? So many other peripheral players have.

Yes, I remember Ron saying that about Amber's sister. But you see, Maggie, it just has seemed obvious all along that Ron often speaks b/f he actually gets his facts straight--and that, especially in the beginning, he knew a lot less about all this than he let on.

He told us he was leaving, after commenting that everything, really, is kind of "meaningless".

That constant need to be making contact with someone makes me think of Scott as a real narcissist--an emotional infant. I know a few people who I really do think are narcissistic, and two of them are "phonaholics", that is, if there is no one physically with them, they absolutely HAVE to be on the telephone. In my (totally nonprofessional) opinion, narcissists cannot stand to be alone. Picture a tiny infant--how long would a tiny infant really last if it were left alone? Not long.

So I think Scott's hundreds of phone calls reflect this pathological need on his part. And even more so, his calls to Amber. I think whatever woman he happened to be intimate with became a sort of surrogate mommy to him.

And you make a very good point: it's not necessarily odd for someone with a missing family member to spend a lot of time on the phone--but it is very odd for someone in that predicament to spend so much time on the phone with the ONE person who DEFINITELY could not help them find the missing family member!

Dev you know what convinces me that Laci never ever knew about Snott's affair? The fact that the night of Dec. 23, probably shortly before her gruesome death, she was talking with her Mom and was cheerful and bubbly as always. Sharon Rocha has said all along that Laci was NOT the kind that could hold something like this in and make plans for the next day as if nothing was wrong. I truly believe Laci was blindsided!!

Knowing the greedy Peterson's,I am sure they had all but inked a deal for a book and a made for TV movie. Sharon,has out manoeuvred them and it does my heart good.

Hmm, I wonder what kinds of opportunities are in the offing for young Scott to make a buck. And I wonder if any of that has anything to do with the recent argument between his lawyers.
