This is all from way back when Ron Frey gave the orginal denial.The Ted Rowlands phone interview with Ron Frey was April 24th.

How could that be? He was fishing near Berkely, CA on the 24th and when he got home from fishing he said Laci was missing.

The phone call from Maine,was a ruse. He had told Amber he was going to be out of town. Maine was one of the places Scott had told Amber he was going to be visiting.

This is from an interview between Ted Rowlands and Ron Frey.This could have been televised and what you were thinking of.I do not have a date for this interview.

Ted Rowlands:"Scott Peterson has said on several occasions that he told Amber about his wife shortly after Laci disappeared without a trace on Christmas Eve. But Ron Frey said that is not the case.

Ron Frey:"Amber figured it out herself, Scott didn't tell her," Ron Frey said. "She had a client (Amber works as a massage therapist) who was a detective. They compared notes and figured out who is was - is - and she came forward." "

Does any one else remember Ron Frey, telling another interviewer,that Amber learned who Scott was, from Eva Frey her sister?

So I'm confused now...did Snott call Amber on the 24th??? The day that Laci "went missing"? I know there is a report that there was a call between them on the 23rd..that itself is enough to speculate on. But if there is a record of a call when he was "sturgeon fishing" in the bay, that woud be even curiouser. (is that even a word?)

Way,Way,Way back,I thought,I remembered reading, that Scott had called Amber on Dec 24th,from "Maine". But perhaps, the wording was slightly different, and I misinterpreted, what was actually said. It now appears that is the case, since no one else seems to remember a senario, like that phone call.Sorry Spunky and Jackie-o if that confused you. :)

Hey Sandy!! I do remember us discussing that item a lot. However, I don't think we ever came to a conclusion or ever found out if Amber had gotten information from a Private Detective, if there was one. However, I am clear on the fact that her father was adamant that she had NEVER called nor spoken with Laci!! In fact, if you recall when she gave her press conference, she seemed quite shaken at having discovered "via the news" that Laci Peterson was Scott's wife and was missing!!

He was LYING Spunky. Don't you remember the Gloria Gomez interview with Snott in his house? She pinned by the ears into a corner about his lies. eg. She said, Amber says you called her on December 24th and said you were visiting with family in Maine and that after the holidays you had to take a business trip to Paris. He said No I never talked to Amber on December 24th. She kept on him and exposed his lies. Finally, he said, "Look, I'm not going to waste the little time we have left here talking about me, we should be concentrating on finding Laci!! GAG!!

I don't ever remember Amber saying she found out about Scott through her sister. That is news to me. I don't think that's true myself. That in itself is at odds with what Amber herself said.

Cell phones do cross continents now, and one of the reasons they are so popular is that the number now stays with you, no matter where you move. So, if one was always traveling, and only making periodic trips internationally, no need to buy a new phone. T Mobile is good example, just depends on what service plan you purchase.

So, one would not know if a call was placed from outside the country on this phone. As to Amber calling him, she would be placing a call to his basic number. Who's to say he didn't originally get the cell phone with a San Diego phone number? Or, any other city for this very purpose of displaying on caller-id (girlfriends-given that we know Amber wasn't the first). He tells Laci this is his "international"/business cell phone. Thus, it explains calls at all hours, etc.

I seem to remember that there were at least 4-5 mobile phones involved with Scott, but some could well have been other family members.

Oh Mags, I take that back. I don't recall Amber's Dad or Amber saying she found out through her sister. I thought her comment was that "when she found out from Televison....then she contacted the Police right away.

DA, talk about compussive obssessive. I find it espcially notable the 14 calls in one day immediately following Laci's disappearance. While everyone is frantically looking for Laci, Scott is on the phone with Amber. This was the most critical time of Laci's case and Where's Waldo? The man could only turn to one person, and it wasn't anyone who knew Laci, just why was that, if he wasn't involved?
