Scott Peterson exchanged at least 18 telephone calls with his girlfriend in the nine days before his pregnant wife disappeared, according to partial phone records. He also received at least 47 calls from Amber Frey to his cell phones in the three weeks after authorities believe he killed his wife and their unborn son, the records reveal.

All 65 calls -- totaling more than 3 1/2 hours -- were made at a time when Scott Peterson insisted that he didn't have a girlfriend.

Two of them came on New Year's Eve, the day more than 1,000 people attended a commun-ity candlelight vigil for the missing Laci Peterson.

Frey made more than 50 calls to police starting Dec. 30. Some of those calls were made after police were authorized to tap Peterson's phones, and court documents show the wiretaps picked up a call between Frey and Peterson as late as Jan. 20.

Frey figures to be an important prosecution witness in the high-profile case and has been protected by private guards.

Frey was not the only woman with whom Scott Peterson had an affair with, a source said. He had at least one other girlfriend during his five-year marriage, the source said.

The phone records reflect only a portion of the calls between at least four phones known to be used by Frey and Peterson.

The 30-year-old fertilizer salesman has pleaded innocent to murder charges. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

Frey, 28, has said she met and started dating Peterson in November, not knowing he was married.

The phone records from Dec. 14 to Jan. 14 also reveal that:

Frey, a Fresno massage therapist, called Modesto police at 1:43 a.m. Dec. 30. The call lasted 22 minutes. On Jan. 28, when Frey went public about her romantic involvement with Peterson, she cited the pivotal Dec. 30 call.

She made the call immediately after receiving two calls, starting at 1:24 a.m.

In the next three weeks, Frey exchanged at least 48 calls with Modesto police Detective John Buehler. She also called the phones of police Detectives Phil Owen and Al Brocchini twice each.

Frey's attorney said she has cooperated with investigators, who tapped at least two of Peterson's cell phones.

Authorities had an affidavit sealed Jan. 22 for a "search warrant for Scott Peterson's phone records," a Stanislaus County Superior Court order shows. It is unclear whether investigators executed the search warrant for the phone records.

But court documents show that authorities did use a search warrant May 28 in connection with the case for toll and subscriber information from five telecommunications companies: AT&T Wireless, Nextel, Cingular, Sprint and SBC. The companies provided investigators with dozens of pages of information, according to court documents.

Most of Frey's calls to Scott Peterson lasted five minutes or less. Only one, on Jan. 7, was longer; it lasted 100 minutes.

Frey and Peterson called each other an average of two times daily in the week before Laci Peterson was reported missing Christmas Eve. There were at least four calls on Christmas as media descended on Modesto to cover the disappearance. On Dec. 26, while volunteers combed the Petersons' La Loma neighborhood and a park, the number of calls shot up to 14. All calls were made between 3 and 9 p.m.

Frey put in two calls, on Jan. 10 and 14, to a volunteer search center based at Modesto's Red Lion Hotel. It is not known whether she spoke to volunteers or Scott Peterson, who regularly visited the center.

Peterson apparently spoke to Frey on the phone only once on Dec. 23, the day his wife vis- ited her doctor. Laci Peterson accompanied her husband that day to have his hair cut by her sister. Authorities have said they believe Laci Peterson was killed later that day or the next day.

On the day a judge agreed to let police tap Peterson's calls, Frey spoke with him at least twice. She called Buehler's phone number eight times that day. Frey hasn't spoken to the media, aside from the initial news conference revealing the affair and another staged by Gloria Allred, her Los Angeles attorney.

Allred declined Wednesday to comment on specifics surrounding her client's phone conversations with Peterson.

"I can only make a general statement that when .........

MODESTO -- A broker of photos for men's magazines has posted nude photos of Amber Frey on his Web site, and the Fresno massage therapist has talked with her attorney about suing him.

The broker, David Hans Schmidt, said he bought the photos and release rights from a Fresno photographer earlier this year. The Web site, where Schmidt charges $19.95 for access, came to light Wednesday.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Frey as she prepares to be a witness in the Scott Peterson double-murder case, said her client has never relinquished rights to the photos.

Allred said her job is to defend Frey from attacks on her credibility that may come from Peterson's defense team and elsewhere.

Allred called the Web site "disgusting and an attempt to exploit Amber simply because she may be an important witness in a high-profile murder case."

"We have advised Amber of all of her legal rights against Mr. Schmidt and anyone who is involved in the sale and distribution of her images, and she will seriously consider her legal options," Allred said in a written statement released Wednesday.

When reached by phone, Allred declined to say what options were discussed or whether Frey would sue Schmidt.

"I hope she sues," Schmidt said Wednesday while traveling in New York. "You can print that. I hope she sues me."..........

September 25, 2003 --

The other woman in the Laci Peterson murder investigation was fully exposed yesterday - after a Web site started charging $19.95 for more than two dozen racy pictures of her.

Web site operator David Hans Schmidt posted 27 pictures of Amber Frey, 28, a massage therapist who had a fling with murder suspect Scott Peterson.

The photos were taken in 1999, Schmidt said.

"She responded to a local ad for nude models," said the Internet entrepreneur.

Frey is involved in the mystery surrounding Laci Peterson, a pregnant Modesto, Calif., woman who vanished last Christmas Eve.

Her body and the remains of her unborn child washed ashore near San Francisco in April, leading to Scott Peterson's arrest........

A pornography broker has posted nude photos of Amber Frey on his Web site, and the Fresno massage therapist and her attorney have discussed suing the man.

The broker, David Hans Schmidt, said he purchased the photos and release rights from a Fresno photographer earlier this year. The Web site, where Schmidt charges $19.95 for use, came to light Wednesday.

"I hope she sues," Schmidt said Wednesday while traveling in New York. "You can print that. I hope she sues me."

Allred contends that Schmidt never has produced an original document signed by Frey releasing her rights to the photos. Schmidt contends that he has a signed, legally binding release.

Peterson Informer Convinces Ex-Cop

Peterson Informer Convinces Ex-Cop

Wednesday, September 24, 2003

The inmate who claims he overheard double murder suspect Scott Peterson (search) talking about kidnapping his wife Laci convinced the ex-cop who gave him a polygraph test that he is telling the truth, the officer told Fox News in an exclusive interview.

Lt. Melvin King (search) told Fox News' Geraldo Rivera Wednesday that he was skeptical of inmate Cory Lee Carroll's (search) story at first, but changed his mind after their two-hour session.

"Mr. Carroll was able to convince me that he truly believes what he's saying has some validity to it," King said.

King, who has dealt with numerous inmate witnesses in the past, said they typically ask to cut some sort of deal for a plea bargain. But Carroll was different, he said.

"He was just the opposite," King told Fox.

Peterson, 30, is accused of killing his wife Laci Peterson, 27, and unborn son, Conner.

Carroll, a self-described petty property criminal, told investigators he first met Peterson last November at the City Lights strip club in Fresno, Calif...........

I think is was most likely a delay because of them, LE and Rochas trying to find Laci... Which "mother nature" brought her back and DNA confirmation of Laci and Conner, which lead to scaughty's arrest, because of his possible fleeing the country... ???

I hear ya, trying turn the stones to relieve the possible twists Geragos can twine... ;o)

Regarding jurisdiction, proper jurisdiction can be: -the county in which the fatal injury was inflicted, OR -the county in which the victim died, OR -the county in which the body was found.

I think, if memory serves, in La. you must try the murderer in the jurisdiction the crime occured.Does that sound right to you. Maye the assumption is the murder location is where the body is found lacking better info. I know there is a dumping ground by the Rigolets, where killers in Jefferson Parish dump their kill, but it is just inside St john Parish. St. John picks up all the bodies, no matter who finds the remains;or it did for years. In CA is it finders keepers? I'm gonna read the code;thanks...;-)

Jumping into this thread...

Something that has bothered me a lot throughout this ordeal, happened right in the beginning--when the searches were being conducted out of the make-shift search center at the hotel.

Has anyone here ever heard anything mentioned about the men who flew in from overseas to hold a meeting of some sort with Scott? Has anyone ever heard if anyone investigated this?

Does it seem odd to anyone here that this meeting occurred while Scott should have been grieving and looking for his wife? Does it seem odd that this meeting, if it really pertained to business interests, simply took precedence over a colleague's missing wife and soon to be born child? Does it seem odd that *Scott* took them sightseeing through San Francisco before he also drove them to the airport?

I think the prosecution must have a lot of great evidence against Scott, but this meeting, I just can't shake from suspicion.

Anyone?

Remember how they always talked about Almonaster Avenue as being "where dey dumps da bodies"? After the body of that Dr. Mark Fisher was found out there? Remember that one? He went to Cigar's Pool Hall, which was somewhere near Exchange Alley. I had never seen the place, but John Dillman in his book about that murder said that Cigar's didn't even have a real door--it had an "opening".

Yes--the people who came in from out of town were executives from Tradecorp, Scott's employer. (Although I believe he was more of a contractor in his position--a sales rep or something like that.)

Yes, there he was, not long after Laci "disappeared", sitting with the big boys in the bar of the Red Lion Hotel, sharing drinks. He said offhandedly, to some hotel staff member, that he was taking the big guys sightseeing in SF the next day.

The executives also visited him at his Covena Avenue house. At the time, media people mistook them for some sort of plainclothes police.

Hi and Welcome. Yes I do remember that meeting held with the head of Tradecorp from Spain. And you are absolutely correct that Snott was out drinking and laughing it up with his work colleagues. Majorily inapproriate behaviour to most sane people. But then Snott has NEVER acted normal right from day ONE. Your assessment certainly lines up with what I observed.

Jump on in here GMO! You know it seems that everything Scott has done has been odd, including sightseeing with the bosses when his wife was missing.

Do you think he drove them out to the marina? I wouldn't put it past him.

“Enough has been leaked for me to get the impression that police believe strongly that she died in the house. Whatever
They know that makes them believe that has been closely guarded. It may be a bombshell! “

Me think you give these clowns way too much credit. They have seven unsolved murdered women in the last 2 years, Three with bodies and four without. This is the only arrest of the bunch. No husband standing around in the others, I suppose.

They desperately wanted to arrest Scott from day one that was no secret. Consequently, they would have arrested him the minute they could prove that Laci died in that house. You know that would be enough for an arrest. Yet, as late as Aug. 4th, when MPD wanted to arrest SP without a body, the DA would not give them a warrant b/c he could not connect Scott by evidence, only circumstances. He told them to get more evidence.

I do not understand why the DA would want to hide connective evidence. I mean, that’s what it’s all about, and if it’s solid no one can do anything about it. In Louisiana the DA listed the DNA match on the arrest warrant of the South Louisiana serial killer to show the public he was not acting capriciously but professionally. It just makes sense to calm things down, checkmate the press and stifle any social unrest.

I can see the defense holding back until the DA lays out his case, The DA is the aggressor, he either has the connective proof or he doesn’t. He has to comply with discovery, so if the defense has the evidence, why not the public.

“Oh, Ray, she could have died accidentally... or it could have been suicide! But as they said during Chandra Levy's disappearance, "you can kill yourself, but it's hard to hide your body afterwards". LOL. “

I am surmising; I will leave the stories up to the defense. But remember that five people saw her after he allegedly left, and caffeine shows up in her system, indicating that maybe she was alive in the morning, which ties in with the witness stories, possibly.

Without Carroll, Sketter, and Dirty, he could possibly get a pass by default, rotten alibi or not if no one saw him after 9:30 AM. Listen to me now, if physical evidence separates, or appears to separate Scott and Laci by time and/or space there better be someone on the scene to re-connect him or it’s Katie bar the door; he will be “Walking To New Orleans”. Sure looks to me that he had help; it just keeps hitting me in the face.

Laci was alive Dec. 24th AM; There are too many indications present to ignore them. She had caffeine in her system when her remains were recovered. Two couples and a high school teacher-coach saw her or her dog sequentially between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM (times approximate).

Now we know there was no DA Laci look-alike, with a golden retriever, walking her dog that day as we were told for months by MPD, who said they had checked her out and there was no doubt about it the eye witnesses saw the look-alike.

During the "look-alike" days the witnesses were regarded as regular people who simply saw the wrong person. That was all right because she was a remarkable likeness to Laci and additionally she had a dog exactly like Laci. Further, she was pregnant the same term almost as Laci; Kinda cute in a way, but everyone knew Laci was dead before the 24th AM and Scott had killed her and all was well in “forumville”.

In due course, Mark Geragos, bless his “little wiener”, looked the lady DA up and down, no no up he, he looked her up and low and behold she unequivocally stated she was not walking her Golden retriever on the 24th . Also she confirmed she had told MPD months before the very same thing.

Well it was open season on those no good, senile, showboating, 15 minutes of fame, lunatic witnesses. What had happened? He, he he he…..Well some of the less informed Freepers miscalculated and wrongfully concluded that Laci being alive on Christmas eve meant in some strange way that Scott might get some relief from eternal damnation. As soon as they realized that he was still on the hook, and that he could have killed her by contract with him in attendance, they settled down. I only mention it so I might welcome the Laci witnesses back to humanity and sanity and thank them for their forbearance as regards the rashness of those Freepers. We all make errors!.

One of the couples was parked next to a beige van occupied by two rough type men at a service station in the 200 block of Covena. Laci Peterson was spotted in front of 220 Covena Blvd. Moments later by the husband as he pulled out of the service station; She was walking her Golden Retriever at a brisk pace, away from her home. Fifteen to thirty minutes she was seen passing the Mitchell’s home and making a corner turn toward a less populated stretch of road. The teacher saw the retriever near the Peterson home 15 to 20 minutes later; Laci Peterson was never seen alive again.

“So I think time/date, and place, are provable as of now. You've sure got a point about "how", though”

Never happen, because neither side will allow it. Both sides will have experts with impeccable credentials and different estimates; you can count on it!

IMHO, I see new or renewed topics in greater concentration in the not to distant future. I refer to chemicals, neo nazis, contract killers and methamphetamine, the chemical structure, and how the chemicals are obtained on the Black Market….

you give these clowns way too much credit

I hope Geragos and his traveling circus underestimate them, too. But I doubt Geragos will; he knows better...

If there are four murdered women in that jurisdiction and their bodies have never been found, how do we know they are really dead, and that they didn't just leave the area?

If the DA held them off, if they wanted to go get Scott even b/f the bodies were found, it's b/c the DA knows that prosecuting him w/o the bodies and losing would be absolutely fatal to the case, and then if the bodies turned up, perhaps w/ incontrovertible evidence against Scott on them... everyone would be screaming as Scott walked, protected by the double jeopardy clause. Gotta know when to hold it, etc.

You can see the defense holding back? Yes, I could see that, too. So why DON'T they?? Instead, they were making fools of themselves. The schism btw Dalton and Geragos tells us a LOT about the state of Scott's defense, IMO.

I don't see why Laci couldn't have walked the dog, and then been killed by Scott. I don't see why she couldn't very well have been alive as the 24th began--but still have been killed by Scott. Scott's whereabouts, as far as I know, are unknown for most of Dec. 24--unless I want to take his word for where he was all day.

How convenient that that couple, the Maldonados, serve as not only "witnesses" who saw Laci alive, but also "witnesses" to the tan van in the neighborhood. I call that economy!

The teacher dude, he was a strange, kind of weird, liberal-nut-looking kind of guy. Be that as it may, he absolutely said that he could NOT identify who/whatever he saw near the dog as Laci, only as "someone who seemed round". He freely admitted he didn't get a look at a person, only at the dog. And he wasn't even too clear about the dog.

The Mitchells... lol... you already know all about them, and her standing at the sink doing dishes, an 80-something woman recovering from hip surgery... and him, watching football games when there were absolutely ZERO football games of any kind on the tube.

Some have suggested that Scott did see one of the pregnant ladies (Kristen Dempewolf?) around on the morning of the 24th, wearing black pants and white shirt, and that that was why he listed black pants/white shirt as "what Laci was last seen wearing." BBL!

Map out the places where the Maldonados and the Mitchells supposedly saw Laci walking the dog that day, w/ attention to which direction they said she was walking. It appears that if she was doing all that these witnesses said she was doing, she'd have been zigzagging all over the place, at times needlessly retracing her route. I'm not saying that she, say, went north on a street and then later went south on the same street; I mean, the route that comes up when you consider the "sightings" is a route which makes little or no sense.

I see your point, that the experts will disagree on how. Yes, they surely will, and surely will subject the jury to many a tedious hour--unless perhaps her skull is found with a bullet hole in it.

I'm a little more interested in King's interviews on TV than I am with Muna's. King, you know, is the former LE, who interviewed Carroll and gave him the LD test. On Greta, the other night, King said at the first meeting of Carroll and SP, that after they shot pool, they went to a table for drinks and conversation, and that a photographer (girl) came over and snapped a picture. Carroll told King that the girl kept the picture, but he had given her name to the powers that be. He also said that he had not asked a question on the LD about that, but he "wished he had". There was something else Carroll told King in the interview that he said he wished that he had followed up on, but hadn't. Right now, I can't put a handle on it. If I think of what it was, I'll let you know.

On the Catherine Crier, live program, substitute host Deborah Norville had a phone conversation with Muna. The story is Carroll was doing some handyman work, at the home of the "witness". The "witness" said Scott stopped by to talk to Carroll. Muna has a signed statement from this "witness". There is an agreement, that the "witness",will remain anonoymous, but cooperate with LE.Did anyone else see this program?

If this is is a valid verification,of Carroll's story. It appears to me that the UPS store,PO Box, was either going to be a drop off point for drugs or payment drop off to do "something" to Laci.
