NEW YORK (AP) ? With two key meetings ahead that could determine whether the Episcopal Church splits over homosexuality, the denomination's leader defended his support yesterday for an openly practicing homosexual bishop.
Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold said in an interview with the Associated Press that he voted at last month's General Convention to confirm Bishop-elect V. Gene Robinson because Episcopalians in New Hampshire had overwhelmingly chosen him in their local election and had the right to make that choice.

Later he said that in biblical times there was no understanding that homosexuality was a natural orientation and not a choice. Sheesh, do you THINK Jesus knew?? This whole issue is getting insane.

Bishop Griswold also argued that the Bible does not condemn homosexual acts, a position his opponents vehemently reject.Anybody know if griswold is a practitioner of the bone dance with mr. sphincter?

Later he said that in biblical times there was no understanding that homosexuality was a natural orientation and not a choice. This may be a valid point, but there's not really enough left of Sodom and Gomorrah to really be sure.

The Midwest Conservative Journal Blog has a good commentary on Griswold's statements:
http://mcj.bloghorn.com/ Griswold is really mind-blowing, completely pushing aside any thought of God/Jesus knowing everything for all time, and seeing that what we need to know is in Holy Scripture...

..if the Bishops' crazy decision makes 77 million members splinter into other groups,so be it....just about as important to this "Bishop" as what to have for breakfast, I guess......

all this talk of how "natural" homosexuality is is pure bunk...
it may occur now and then, just like a zillion other abnormalities of nature, but let's be perfectly clear.....
its not a wanted expectation of nature...its a mistake...
We don't have to hate people that are differant, or treat them badly, in fact, we should love them .....but we can't just go around saying that an aberration of nature is good, natural, needed or wanted....
it goes against all science as well.....survival of the fittest refers to the ability of a member to produce offspring.....

I know him and his family. No, he isn't an homosexual, nor a bisexual; he's a heterosexual, married with two grown daughters and a snob, an elitist, and very full of himself.

Church Decline
One of the bishops made the following statement:
"I think it's clear there is no biblical teachings about long-term committed homosexual people, so I think we have to have a debate about how to apply the biblical principles, which really apply to promiscuity, and apply it to this modern and contemporary issue,"
Leviticus 18:22: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination"
Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them."
On the nature of man's ruin beginning at Romans 1:19B:
Romans 1:26 "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature"
Romans 1:27: Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due"
Corinthians 6:9: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites"
Methinks the pastor should re-examine his knowledge of the Bible.
Here's my take on the modern churches, by and large:
They have no fire, they have no passion
they preach what's in fashion,
their prayers are spoken by rote,
their teachings are nothing of note
