Wheel of Fortune confirms no one is watching CNN
ABC

Posted on 10/04/2003 10:34:32 PM PDT by stephydan

Was anyone else watching Wheel of Fortune Thursday night?

The phrase on the board was completely exposed except for two letters. It looked something like this:

CNN ANCHOR _OL_ BLITZER

What happened next was hilarious. The contestant guessing letters couldn't figure it out and guessed "D". Now that's pretty bad, but it gets worse, the next contestant didn't know what it is either and guessed "S".

After the second person couldn't figure out the puzzle, host Pat Sajak (who has a show on FOX News) chimed in "well, I guess that confirms the ratings!

Useless trivia: Rush Limbaugh made his TV debut as a guest host of Pat Sajak's late-night talk show on CBS back in '90.

Maybe they just had a rare crop of morons on the show.

Plenty of people know who Wolf Blitzer is, without having watched CNN.

You know, this has nothign to do with this thread on CNN, but...

If they get rid of the government, which is what Anarchy is all about, who's going to make the welfare payments?

For real horror check out Jay Leno's "Jaywalking" skits where he asks (usually collegiate-claiming) people serious history questions. Ten minutes before the hour for the West-side brethren.

I don't know. I'm still not sure what a bunch of Libertarians are doing drumming up money for a conservative website.

The only problem with the story is that this is SOP for the show. They have the dumbest contestants on the planet.

No, that wouldn't work. There was no "A" in the phrase.

I don't know what you mean by that, but when I see something like that photo, or see anything about "anarchists," usually they're very hard left wingers, and actually support huge and powerful government. I don't know... Maybe they think that they'll be in charge, so it will be OK for them.

Pat Sajak is a conservative, is on the board of Hillsborough College (a conservative classical-liberal arts college), and has an in-depth interview show Sunday nights on FNC. Good stuff.

Besides all that, I also like the guy because my wife won a trip to Australia on the Wheel about 17 years ago. We had a great time. 5-star hotel up the hill from the Sydney Opera House, spending money, airfare. Far beyond our means at the time.

Seems to me that if you abolished the state and let anarchy reign, you would then have the most brutal mafia-style capitalism imaginable. Am I wrong?

Of course. To them, "the State" means the capitalist state. They abhor all authority, especially a righteous authority.

Besides, don't forget that the other thing they abhor is consistency.

Capitalism means freedom, and what you would get if you let anarchy reign would be everything but freedom. It would be oppression by a number of mafias, as opposed to oppression by one central despot. (And sooner or later one of the clans would overcome the others, and centralize all power).
