It is only disfranchisement, when Democrats lose an election

Liberal Activists did not even wait for the polls to close in Californias historical recall election of Governor Gray Davis before they were screaming about their voters being disenfranchised.
Liberal Activist and Democrat Operative Jesse Jackson wasted no time in charging that the Davis Campaign had received calls from over 30,000 California residents who Mr. Jackson claimed were being disenfranchised, could not find polling places, and that there were not enough polling place available in an appearance on Fox Newss Hannity and Colmes.
When host Sean Hannity pressed Mr. Jackson on the fact that if Mr. Davis did in fact win this recall election would Mr. Jackson and other activist1 press ahead with their threaten and promised lawsuits that claimed that mostly Democrat and minority voters were disfranchised because of punch card ballots. Mr. Jackson answered Mr. Hannitys question with a no.
You see it is only disenfranchisement, when Democrat Candidates lose elections and those of us who have been truly disenfranchised know this all too well. You see I was disenfranchised in the 2000 General Election as well here in the state of Maryland due to a computer error when I signed up under Motor Voter, but since Maryland went to Al Gore there were no Protest by the Maryland Based NAACP, No Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton lead protest and no U.S. Civil Right Commission investigation in to the matter.
In the months following the 2000 General Election I was asked to do a segment by the producers of the Armstrong Williams Show, while waiting the green room I had the chance to meet Congressmen James Clyburn (D-SC) and during the course of talking I asked the Congressmen and Congressional Black Caucus Member. If Al Gore had in fact carried his home-state of Tennessee or then President Clintons home-state of Arkansas and thus won the required 271+ electoral votes would the Congressional Black Caucus and allied groups had protested in Florida and demanded that Congress take up Voter Reform? Congressmen Clyburn mused my questions for a few second and answered with a flat-out no.
Liberal Democrat Activist and Operatives previously used the fear to motivate and drive minorities to the polls for Democrat Candidates.
Remember the now famous, but poisonous St-Louis broadcast Jesse Jackson Midterm Election Radio Spots of 1998 when he claimed That not voting Democrats means you let another church burn, let another brother get lynched and let another brother get shot. Nowhere in Mr. Jackson ranting did offer up example of other political parties engaging in criminal actions against the black community.
Now we have this term disfranchisement which truthfully is a cover for Liberals Democrat Activist to seek thru the courts with the help of like minded federal and state judges, what voters have denied them over and over at the ballot box.
The ACLU went as far as to go to federal court and seek to strip away from the residents of California their State Constitutional Right to recall the governor on the claim that any recall election that required mostly minorities and the elderly to still use punch card ballots, was disfranchisement to that community.
The ACLUs argument did not hold up in the full court and the California Recall Election was allowed to proceed and proved that people can indeed vote correctly when they are educated on the issues and not coached by telemarketing firms and political activist who seek with the help of friendly courts to overturn the a election and the will of the people of a state.
I call upon the producers of the Hannity and Colmes Show to turn over the Jackson interview to the Department of Justice and that there be a full investigation to see if there was a coordinated effort by Jesse Jackson and Gray Davis to intimidate the legal voters of California during a statewide election with the threat of a lawsuit to follow any results that were not favorable for Mr. Davis.
Voters should not be made to feel that their legal vote will be overturned by a band of extremist who seek to steal from them the most basic right that all Americans have and that is the right to vote and that is what this term Disfranchisement allows groups like the ACLU, NAACP, National Action Network People for the American Way, Rainbow/PUSH and those people who ally themselves with these fringe groups to do.
It is up to all Americans in every political party to ensure that the power to vote remains in the hands of people.

I wish you would come and plant your roots in Daytona Beach right now. We are about to go thru this for the mayoral runoff. One of the front runners was a one-time head of the NAACP in the S.F. Bay Area. She raised over $100,000 for her campaign this election here, compared to the average $20,000 for other candidates (*sniff*sniff...I smell a RAT). She was one of the loud mouths about "voter disenfranchisement" during the 2000 Prez elections in Florida, specifically Volusia County. Volusia went 66% to Gore and they had voter fraud, and the local Dems attempted to sue to stop the recount here.
Listen, I'll help you pack and move, and you can even bunk here for the time being!

Voter fraud, which is more widespread, is as much disenfranchisement as inhiting voting. If my vote is nullified by a fraudulent voter, I have effectively been disenfranchised.

You really hit the nail on the head. Jesse Jackson is an opportunist and shakedown artist. He actually claimed that voters in Los Angeles County were disenfranchised. How can there be a Republican conspiracy to disenfranchise the voters? The California Secretary of State (Kevin Shelly) and the Los Angeles municipal government (Mayor and City Council) are all Davis-supporting Democrats.
To: Trueblackman
claimed that mostly Democrat and minority voters were disfranchised because of punch card ballots. Why? Are punch card ballots only used in minority communities? If not, and everybody in the state uses them, do these minorities not understand that Jesse Jackson is basically telling them that they're too stupid to use these ballots, but that everyone else isn't?

Yup. That's certainly the truth. But unfortunatley, too many conservatives are afraid to challenge the assumptions of Je$$e. They're afraid of being called the "R" word, racist.
The Chicago media fawns all over Je$$e. They portray him as if he is royalty. The reporters never question the motives of Je$$e. The media bias is maddening.

Bravo Kevin !!
Your political commentary deserves to be read by a much wider audience. It is refreshing to hear the truth. I applaud your efforts to 'tell it like it is' regarding Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition. Keep up your great work.

Of course, Jesse is a shakedown artist!
Nobody dares challenge Jesse, because they are called racists whether they are correct or not. He is a big intimidator --- incidents with bullying the Rev. Jesse Peterson (BOND) in redevelop discussions in LA where the Rev. Peterson is a resident and Jesse Jackson is not.
Last year when the nightclub incident occurred, he came on the scene and left his car in the middle of the street. He was about to hand his keys to the new Chicago Police Chief and have someone park his car when the Police Chief just stared him down.
And nobody even audits the books of PUSH (either the Fed or Illinois) because they fear being part of the Vast Right Wing conspiracy which every liberal Demonrat calls racist.
In regards to the voting fraud, that is the whole intent of motor voter. Typically it helps the urban/suburban people who can't make it to the voter's registration even though they can make it to the typically crowded license branch. This is somewhat disingenuous since in the bigger areas, they are more likely to have some branches closer together.
It all just helps voter fraud which is so common in urban/suburban areas which are typically controlled by the Demonrats anyway. There is no effort by the local prosecutors to charge and pursue voter fraud because the bulk of them are Demonrats too (i.e., Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Chicagoland area). Voters rights are something to be used by them, not some principle which should be honored.
Oh, well, as they say in Chicago --- vote early, vote often!!

Sick of what? What he said is true.

volusia county was roughly 97,000 to 82,000, which is under 55%, not 66% for gore. And the recount in Volusia was completed within 4 days of the election, and I don't know of anyone trying to stop it, on either side.
To: BohDaThone
You're correct. I should have said "my area". It was actually 69%.
