3 old dear friends in Tucson -- all report to me that he is a living composite icon of Bernardin and Jadot.

The Vice President has to be elected. I can't find it anywhere that George is automatically the VP because he came in second.

But, he may be.

"I am not sure why I am cncerned about Wuerl,I really don't know too much aboout him."

Nor do I.
But my recollection is that he is the guy sent to Seattle to straighten out Hunthausen's mess.
When he left Seattle the mess was still there and so was Hunthausen.

"Pilla,Pilarcyzk,Clark,Hubbard,Lynch,Friend,Mahoney,McGrath,Brown,Pellote,Kelly,Grahmann,Fiorenza,Flynn,Adamec,Imesch"

What a list! I am surprised you haven't put my bishop (Vlasny) on that list. He is one of the original Bernardin's Boys.
Also what about Sylvester Ryan from San Jose?

No, I'm not sure of anything. I was actually quoting from another article on the meeting.

Sadly, it looks that way. Surely somewhere, someplace, there is some standard where a bishop is elected because of a long record of outstanding holiness, piety, and defending the Faith handed down once for all, instead of "politics." I suppose I'm silly to expect such a thing, but then again, being a new convert, I keep hoping the leadership at large will wake up to the serious problems that exist. Silly me, what was I thinking?!?!?

At this point in the revolution, always go by the thinking that anyone who is any good will either not last very long, be smeared into hiding - or both. The guy they placed in charge should be considered a foe until proven otherwise. The battle is real.

You are right 52% is not that great. And the more I think about it,putting on my rose colored lenses with the broad and long view perspective the more I think that it (Skyllstad's election) will serve the Church in the USA well.

The media is pro-choice,pro-homo and generally just pro the Culture of Death. He is much more to their liking than an orthodox Bishop or Cardinal. Meanwhile the good Bishops and Cardinals can go about cleaning up their dioceses and Skylstad can perform ballets and operettas for the press.

If the scandal were over and if several of the worst offender, imposter bishops had exited embarrassed and humbled then a good Cardinal/Bishop could work in relative peace.fighting the press over legitimate issues, issues where all good Catholics would unite behind the B/bishops and C/cardinals who follow Peter, who follows Christ. That is how the Church will come back strong and healthy. I think we may have a bigger problem making sure the country holds together and can save Western Civilization. Otherwise what happens to the Church here will not matter much to any of us,we'll be in trouble.

I have great hope and I am now satisfied that Skylstad and his ilk are going to take a beating as the scandal points more and more clearly to the problems the homosexual element in the Church have caused.

It looks like the bishops were quite evenly divided between Skylstad and George.

That's the impression I've had of George.

At least the Vatican has already cracked down on ICEL. But there will be problems ahead. Big ones, such as euthanasia.

God help us.

Also what about Sylvester Ryan from San Jose?

Ryan is in Monterey. McGrath is in San Jose. They are both awful as are most of the California bishops.
