Prayer for the Election of a Pope - Lord God, you are our eternal shepherd and guide. In your mercy grant your Church a shepherd who will walk in your ways and whose watchful care will bring us your blessing. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (Collect, Mass for the Election of a Pope, Roman Missal)

Yes, she's wonderful.
This is an especially beautiful Mass.
I am near tears :)

I like EWTN's coverage, there is a translator, and they put up on the screen what Bible book and verse that is being read.

Wow, this homily is amazing!

It is a full throated attack on individualism and the culture of death!

I love this Cardinal!

Yes it is great. History in the making .

On a side note I think a few of the Cardinals need a nap or are getting one :)

The only thing that remains is the soul.

--Could you say one really good Hail Mary for me tom.Thank you.--

You got it. Blessed Mother, consolation and help of Christians, watch over and intercede for your child Fatima. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our deaths, Amen.

--Thanks everyone. I will be keeping an eye out probably starting after 10. Since it is the first day tomorrow should I expect one vote or two?--

I read yesterday that they were going to have one more reflection after they were in conclave and then they would decide whether to vote the first day or start the voting tomorrow....suspect that if they vote, it will only be one vote.

I'm tired of hearing network airheads drone on about this like it's a presidential election. They cannot fathom the spiritual aspects at all.

Exactly! In a way, I prefer the refreshing outright vulgarity of the bookies laying odds -- at least they're not pretentious!

I've had such a rotten night's sleep...I didn't think I'd get to see any of this live...but I picked up a respiratory bug and the meds I took just haven't let me sleep...so I finally gave up, came into the computer and put on EWTN!

I hope you'll get to feeling better soon,
but I'm glad you're here! :) I didn't
know it was being televised until BigSky
told me... so I just had to stay up.

I can see on their faces that they're all very solemn.
They'll elect the right man. I am not worried.

I recognize a few of the Cardinals, aside from the presiding Cardinal Ratzinger. LOL :)

It's been wonderful seeing how serious they are taking all of it, how spiritual the process has been so far.

"Charity without truth is blind." Cardinal Ratzinger tells it like it is.

He also says "Truth is not subject to a majority vote" which I also like....even if the pollsters don't agree!
