Prophecy today, Zephaniah - Chapter 2 is happening before us
Eye witness news ^ | Aug 13, 2005 | American in Israel

Posted on 08/13/2005 2:31:36 AM PDT by American in Israel

The next prophecy of today is Zephaniah 2. It is another prophecy of the destruction of the Palestinians, and it specifically mentions the pullout of Gaza that has become the cornerstone of America's plan for peace in the Middle-East region of Israel.

Zephaniah 2:1 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O *undesirable nation,

This one is tough in Hebrew, the word undesirable is the word nethsath which means both with out shame and without feelings.

But undesirable Nation is truly a proper translation when it comes to "Palestinians. Who can imagine a more nefarious group of people than the Arab League immigrants to Israel who claim to be the long lost tribe of Falistea!

Zeph 2:2 Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the LORD's fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD's anger comes upon you!

This decree, is it the decree of their destruction by the lord, or is it the decree of the abandonment of Gaza? For here again is the warning, just like in Isaiah 14 to the Palestinian Christians:

Zeph 2:3 Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD's anger.

Who are the meek of the earth besides the Christians on the Palestinian side of the fence? Who has upheld Gods justice besides the Christians? For the Mulsims have another word for law, which is anything but just, it is called Islam.

The Palestinian Christians I have met have one thing I find hard to take, they often harbor ill feelings towards the Jews in Israel. They have been raised on replacement theology and like their Muslim Brethren claim the heritage of the Jews as theirs alone. They, like all replacement theology churchs are arrogant towards the Jews and Gods plans for them and like all replacement theology Churches ignore outright Roman's 11 demand for humility before God in our attitutudes towards the Jewish people.

But God promises, that IF they seek rightiousness and humility, they MAY find shelter in the day of his Wrath on the Arabs.

Next we have the lock to this prophecy that clearly marks it as NOW, if you can find the Key to it in your lifetime.

Zeph 2: 4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, And Ashkelon desolate; They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday, And Ekron shall be uprooted.

The word forsaken is azuvah, or left as in a passive action.

Is not Gaza being abandoned and forsaken passively right now, this week?

Tick goes the timer on the prophetic clock.

But the words for Ashkelon, the main oil pipeline city and power plant of Israel that is JUST NORTH of the border of the Gaza Strip is lashmama which means desolate, deserted and wasteland. This is not a passive withdrawal, but the destruction by war of these cities.

Clearly the Generals warnings to Sharon and Bush that abandoning Gaza will rain fiery destruction on the cities within reach of the Palestinian mortar crews is right here! Ashkelon with go up in flames quite handly when mortars begin to rain on the oil storage tanks and refinerys. What could survive the destruction? Ashdod and Ekron are citys right there in range too, just north of the northern border of the Gaza strip and right next to Ashkelon.

Zeph 2:5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, The nation of the Cherethites!

This is the very spot called the Gaza Strip today. Not nearby, but right there.

The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines: "I will destroy you; So there shall be no inhabitant."

Like Isaiah 14 says, there is an appointment for everyone in that cloud of smoke heading their way. It is an appointment for destruction, complete destruction. We bring not peace on the Arabs of Israel, but complete and utter destruction. And we, by interfering with Gods commands for the use of the land that He claims for himself, bring his Wrath on our Nation.

The prophetic timers have begun to tick my friends, and America is the single Nation most behind triggering these two harbingers of destruction. It is time to seek repentance on our knees, but we will not. Because we trust in chariots and men, no longer in the Almighty God.

I fear what will happen to American if Bush persists in this Palestinian state nonsense. We're in deep doo! Doesn't the man read his Bible concerning Israel? Or is he blind/deceived? His actions toward Israel have really bothered me. The only other thing I can think of is God is using him to bring about prophecy. Can you help me?

Pres. Bush has never indicated he thought Israel or Jews have any special role in history, much less a Biblical role. He has always acted like these are mere poiltical problems. (I'm willing to be proven wrong).

I've seen no reason to think the he shares a belief in dispensationalism with most American evangelicals, or seen evidence of any eschatological beliefs.

Seems to me that a lot of evangelicals jumped to unwarranted conclusions about the religious beliefs of GWB!

Do his statements that he has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ make him an evangelical?

BTW, if Hillary claimed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, would she be an evangelical?

I know he's a Methodist. That alone gives me pause, but I did become a Christian when I was going to the Methodist Church. However, I didn't stay there for long after that. You can be a Christian and still be ignorant of the Bible and eschatology. I don't know his heart so I can't answer you about his evangelicalism.

Amos 1:6,7 is also about this "pullout". I have been heartsick over the expulsion of the Jews until I read your post and read the Amos chapter. I had seen the deportation as Sharon's/Israel's doing, but I think perhaps God sees it as the Arab's.

6Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Gaza and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they deported an entire population To deliver it up to Edom.
7
"So I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza And it will consume her citadels. (NASB)

More clues! Outstanding! Man, lets hear it for Freeper!

I was joking with my wife last night about Gaza. What if the wind is blowing south when they mortar Ashdod? That is the main chemical plants and refinery city in Israel. It will go up with a big bang and the smoke will be very toxic. What if the Arabs blow it up and the smoke engulfs Gaza. Now that would be a literal happening to the prophecy that not a one does not have a appointment in the smoke from the north.

Would be poetic justice wouldn't it?

One thing to keep in mind, Edom is the part of Jordan that is American controlled, Moab is the part of Jordan that is Palestinian controlled. While in the prophecies of Isaiah 15 Moab is wiped out like in a nuclear war, Edom is unlisted. I always wondered about that and thought that perhaps because Edom is an "American economic zone" it was spared in the war.

By mentioning Edom specifically it points to America again.

As for Gaza being delivered up to Edom, this is the Flag that flys over present day Jordan:

And this is the flag of the Palestinians:

The only difference is that the star of the Hashimite King has been removed. So you can see, we are indeed handing Gaza over directly to the Edomites.

Sorry, I was in error. The following from Jordan: Jordan Flag Meaning: It is often believed the seven-pointed star represents the first seven verses of the Koran, which is the Islamic holy book. The official website of King Hussein (1953-1999) states: "The Jordan flag symbolizes the Kingdom's roots in the Great Arab Revolt of 1916, as it is adapted from the revolt banner. The black, white and green bands represent the Arab Abbasid, Umayyad and Fatimid dynasties respectively, while the crimson triangle joining the bands represents the Hashemite dynasty. The seven-pointed Islamic star set in the center of the crimson triangle represents the unity of Arab peoples in Jordan."

That means that the Palestinians chose to remove unity from their flag. Which is wise, because if they included it they would be admiting that Jordan is where they should be, not Israel as Jordan was created as a homeland for them.

I just read Obadiah the other day and the similarities to the disengagement are a bit chilling. Does this sound like the settlements and the Palestinian reaction to them or what?

12 But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
13 Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;
14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
15 For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

From the very beginning -

Obadiah 1:1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
2 Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.

The Land…

Joel 2

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion,
declare a holy fast,
call a sacred assembly.

16 Gather the people,
consecrate the assembly;
bring together the elders,
gather the children,
those nursing at the breast.
Let the bridegroom leave his room
and the bride her chamber.

17 Let the priests, who minister before the LORD,
weep between the temple porch and the altar.
Let them say, "Spare your people, O LORD.
Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn,
a byword among the nations.
Why should they say among the peoples,
'Where is their God?' "

18 Then the LORD will be jealous for his land
and take pity on his people.

19 The LORD will reply to them:
"I am sending you grain, new wine and oil,
enough to satisfy you fully;
never again will I make you
an object of scorn to the nations.

20 "I will drive the northern army far from you,
pushing it into a parched and barren land,
with its front columns going into the eastern sea
and those in the rear into the western sea.
And its stench will go up;
its smell will rise."
Surely he has done great things.

21 Be not afraid, O land;
be glad and rejoice.
Surely the LORD has done great things.

22 Be not afraid, O wild animals,
for the open pastures are becoming green.
The trees are bearing their fruit;
the fig tree and the vine yield their riches.

23 Be glad, O people of Zion,
rejoice in the LORD your God,
for he has given you
the autumn rains in righteousness.
He sends you abundant showers,
both autumn and spring rains, as before.

24 The threshing floors will be filled with grain;
the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.

25 "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm —
my great army that I sent among you.

26 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,
and you will praise the name of the LORD your God,
who has worked wonders for you;
never again will my people be shamed.

27 Then you will know that I am in Israel,
that I am the LORD your God,
and that there is no other;
never again will my people be shamed.
