Mohammed in the "Gospel" of Barnabas - ZOT for the Theologians

Posted on 07/17/2006 9:05:28 AM PDT by parakletos

The GREAT PROPHET MOHAMMED was mentioned by name in the forgotten gospel of Barnabas, who was one of the disciples of THE GREAT PROPHET JESUS CHRIST.

The gospel is here: www.barnabas.net/

in the aforementioned site, make a search for the word "mohammed".

heres a sample: from part 97

Then said the priest: `How shall the Messiah be called, and what sign shall reveal his coming?'

Jesus answered: `The name of the Messiah is admirable, for God himself gave him the name when he had created his soul, and placed it in a celestial splendour. God said: "Wait Mohammed; for thy sake I will to create paradise, the world, and a great multitude of creatures, whereof I make thee a present, insomuch that whoso bless thee shall be blessed, and whoso shall curse thee shall be accursed. When I shall send thee into the world I shall send thee as my messenger of salvation, and thy word shall be true, insomuch that heaven and earth shall fail, but thy faith shall never fail." Mohammed is his blessed name.'

Then the crowd lifted up their voices, saying: `O God, send us thy messenger: O Mohammed, come quickly for the salvation of the world!'

what do you think?

Hey Face!

That she has. Apparently, she got her first official haircut a couple days after these photos were taken. Zon got a perm too. Big loose curls. Yummy... I can hardly wait for Friday.

Gald to hear you are getting more sleep. Hope the new place works out well for you.

It's rather like trying to convince the two sides of a chess game that a compromise is in order.

"Can't we all just be gray?"

The real barrier to communication on those threads is the smug, condescending, supercilious attitude of superiority of those in attendance.

An attitude of appreciation for wonder, awe, and mystery is given very little coin, yet that is the path that wisdom would follow.

That's why I usually just glance in the door, smile, and walk away whistling.

Is your family coming to see you Friday, or vice-versa?

Verse vica. I'm heading up there. Got all kinds of fun things planned up there. I get to be a blacksmith for a day. Zon and I are taking off for four days, just her and I in the North Woods in a cabin while the Grandparents watch our darling Hellion. A family trip to a Zoo. Apparently Ana loves to watch the polar bears do laps in their pool.

Probably add in a couple days at the Lake and a Father/Daughter day where Momma gets a day to go shopping or head for a day spa.

All in all, much fun all around.

Sigh. Sounds wonderful!

We used to go to the Tulsa Zoo every couple of weeks so that Sally could watch the penguins swim :-).

It does sound nice. This is my first Official Vacation since 1999. Ie; employed, more than just an extended weekend, getting paid for it via accrued vacation time.

I love going to Zoo's. MN has both Como Zoo and the Minnesota Zoo. Very nice.

:nods in agreement:

KP I respect you for standing up for what you think but the cretin v. evil threads are not for learning, debating or even fighting. They are for swarms and the only thing you will get is stung.

We need more people like you around, not less. The board would be poorer for your departure.

And people wonder why I no longer post on CREVO threads or even bother to venture into the Religion forum.

This month's UT is in Religion! :P

Religion has cleaned up surprisingly well.

The "no trolling on devotional threads" has done quite a bit to maintain civility.

Also the mod has teeth.

I noticed. I was a bit nervous at first. I kept expecting to burst into flames or have lightning strike me out of a clear blue sky.

The Viking Kitties must be smiling on me. Hail Odin!

It would be the Mod I'd be worried about. One of those "non-Judeo-Christians need apply" kind of things.

I'm happier this way. ;-)

Non-charbroiled? :)

Actually I was hoping some Zoroastrians would show up. I like to hear what other people believe and why.

Quite so. We'd be a poorer Republic without your unmatched verbal felicity.
