If you can't compare it to Scripture...just be snarky.
And the last line would have a better flow with the tune if you changed it to, "They all would be lost".

Seems tolerably applicable to me . . . if one is going to deal in extremes.
Don’t understand the 3 hour trip thing.
Sorry.

Some folks have said that God made clear to them that electricity is a substitute for Holy Spirit.
Maybe the Amish feel that way. I don’t know.

Actually, I enjoyed Gilligan’s quite a lot. Much to the consternation of my parents. I’m 60 last month.
Doesn’t mean I carry all that around in my head in much detail. Sorry.

You are not taking my logic to the extreme...It isn't even my logic - It is a Biblical call to holiness (not mine).
For some reason you do not want to really discuss, and hash out, the practical application of holy living and being separate from the world.
That is fine...just say so.
unfounded complaint...really? Is it your contention that the Church, and individual Christians, are doing a really good job of living holy, separate lives? Why is the divorce rate in the Church the same as the divorce rate in the world, then (among other indicators)? Why do Christians know more about pop culture than they do about Biblical doctrine?

It is dealing in extremes to say that going to see the movie “Grindhouse” is not pleasing to God or Christ-like?

Of course I agree with Daniel, David etc. that keeping our eyes from evil is a high priority.
But the extremes folks have gone to
to trash RW is just as extreme as saying we shouldn’t use electricity produced by evil folks.

Hey Gamecock - you're Thurston Howell, and I'm Professor Roy Hinkley!
I can live with this!

Actually, I cast Terriergal as the Millionaire Gamecock is the MOVIE STAR much more glamourous!!!

We weren't talking about evangelizing.
We were discussing the practical application of holy living and biblical separation of the Christian...a call that you seem to be opposed to and one that you seem to find extreme.
So it is culturally relevant to sing "Purple Haze" and to see movies like Blades of Glory and Grindhouse...We entertain ourselves with such things as these to reach the lost?
