Blood moon eclipses: 2nd Coming in 2015?

Will Jesus Christ return to Earth in the year 2015?

And can studying NASA's website provide evidence for such a scenario?

A minister who promotes the Old Testament roots of Christianity suggests a rare string of lunar and solar eclipses said to fall on God's annual holy days seven years from now could herald what's come to be known as the "Second Coming" of Jesus.

"God wants us to look at the biblical calendar," says Mark Biltz, pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake, Wash. "The reason we need to be watching is [because] He will signal His appearance. But we have to know what to be watching as well. So we need to be watching the biblical holidays."

A good example of why ministers should say away from science.

A good reason why some ministers should stay away from the Bible.

This is the sort of nonsense you get when you cross the “Jewish roots” folk with theological extremism.

If you read the article, that actual quote is talked about. I am not saying this guy is right or wrong, and I don’t pretend to know any particular date or time; however, everything is coming into alignment. Time will tell.

And you, in your infinite wisdom, will recognize them, because you're special.

No, I am not special. I do hope and pray that I will be able to recognize any forwarning God gives us. I honestly don't know what then to do, other than pray.

20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. 25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." 29 Then He spoke to them a parable: "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.
No astronomical charts or rabbinic traditions required.

You are not supposed to know the day or the hour, numbskull.

Anybody who thinks they do is attributing God-like powers to themselves.

The word for that is "blasphemy."

PS - I predict that you will die thousands or millions or billions of years before the end of the world.

I am a lot more likely to be correct than you.

Harvest moons are the fool moons following the autumnal equinox. Because they rise with the sunset, they prolong dusk (and, therefore, harvest festivals); the closer one gets to the equinox (or the equator), the closer to the sunset is the rise of the full moon. A harvest moon is associated with being red simply because most attention is paid to it while it is on the horizon, when the prismatic effects of the Earth’s atmosphere make any celestial light appear reddish: the atmosphere bends red light more than other light. At dusk, light traveling to earth passes through much more atmosphere, so red light gets bent around even to the side of the Earth just entering darkness.

A blood moon is a lunar eclipse. (All lunar eclipses haooen during full moons, so a blood moon may be a harvest moon!) They appear red because they are in the Earth’s shadows. The only significant light which reaches the moon is that red light which was slightly bent by the Earth’s atmosphere so that it can reach the moon, which otherwise would shield the moon from all sunlight.

So a harvest moon just *looks* red to those people on Earth experiencing dusk; a blood moon actually *is* red because the only light it gets is from the dusky edges of Earth.

Fool moons? How did I make THAT typo from “full moons”?

So, the second coming will be during the harvest moon, during the corn harvest?

Uh, the point was that it caught the whole world unaware, except for one person. I’m guessing that Mark Blitz ain’t that one guy.

They would have laughed at Noah as well.

And as Carl Sagan would remind us, they also laughed at Bozo the Clown. Your point?

I'd stay away from astrology, which in Scripture is always associated with the Babylonians.

There were eight people saved and a lot of animals saved;

Seven of the clean and two of the unclean.

Carl Sagan was a poor soul who rejected
the free offer of salvation from the Creator of the Universe.

Celebrating the Holy Feast Days commanded by YHvH
is not associated with astrology.

No.

But it will occur on a Holy Feast Day commanded by YHvH, the creator of the universe.

Yeah, you cling to that as if that saves some shred of your propsterous argument, or informs anyone else of anything.

But it will occur on a Holy Feast Day commanded by YHvH, the creator of the universe.

There is no such command or idea in the Bible.

Those who look to the feast days of rabbinism for these ideas are described by apostle Paul as being in bondage.

21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar-- 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children-- 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written: "Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband." 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman." 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. (Galatians 4)
The feast days of rabbinism are part of the old covenant and are represented by earthly Jerusalem and Hagar the bondswoman. Those who look for answers in shadowy feast days are demonstrating their allegiance.

But the Jerusalem above is free. The inhabitants of the New Jerusalem have no need of looking for answers in astronomical tables or rabbinic traditions.

Our hope is a sure one. It is based on the testimony of Christ Himself, not the predictions of men.
