A High Point pastor faces misdemeanor charges after being accused of soliciting sex online.

Randleman police said they arrested Otis Durham outside the Wal-Mart here at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Durham, 55, is pastor of the Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church in High Point. He was charged with solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of crimes against nature and is free on a $1,000 bond.

Det. R.K. Hardy said today that a Randleman woman contacted police Friday after getting an unwanted sexual solicitation online. Hardy said he posed online as the woman and arranged for a time and place to meet the suspect, who called himself "Jim" online. Durham was arrested when he appeared in the parking lot Tuesday morning.

I'm shocked I tell ya, the usual suspects are silent. I thought they would be posting some vile comments, but NOTHING....I can only surmise that this pastor is the wrong religion!

God seems to be shaking the church and exposing these people in their sin. I guess “exposing” isn’t the right word to use. LOL It’s just unfortunate that Christians keep showing the secular world that the church is full of hypocrites.

In today’s society nothing is sacrosanct my friend. No religions are completely innocent and all are guilty to some degree... We don’t have to like it though! Its individuals like you and me and our families that make the difference in the much bigger cause. Keep praying my good man; He’s listening!

Every forgets that the Church is made up of human beings, including our leaders. Because someone stumbles does not mean you just chuck it all....

I hope I don’t need to remind you of all the “hypocrites” in the secular world as well.

Yes, I know, but they are not professing to be Christians. We are even supposed to "avoid all appearances of evil." IF we are in sin, it's hard to attract people to Jesus. He expects us to be above reproach.

Geez, what's with all your Catholic molestation threads?

Are you angry at God? The Church? That you're alive?

Wonder when the Florida police will get around to setting up a sting to take down all of the employers that actively solicit illegal immigrant labor.

As much as I love my God, my Family and my Country; even I can not put myself above or beyond reproach. That’s why He did what happened…Isn’t that the essence of Christianity?

Right. I'll bet you were never even aware that there were so many.

Perhaps you weren't around here when it was open season on Catholics during the height of the Catholic clerical abuse scandal. Without trying to minimize the wrongdoing of the Catholic clergy, the scandal was seized upon gleefully as a club of convenience with which to beat the Catholic Church by a group of non-Catholic Freepers who loathe the Church and never miss any opportunity to trash it.

Coleus' threads highlight their pitiful hypocrisy and faux self-righteousness. Firstly because they rarely, if ever seem to find these news items themselves, despite their keen noses for any type of Catholic scandal, and secondly, by their conspicuous absence from these threads when they are posted.

I know you won’t answer but I think it would be a good idea to compile a link list of these articles that you can post like Salvation does. It might get way too long though.

Well, I wouldn’t say the “religions” are guilty unless they have doctrine that says this is OK, or unless they continue to accept someone who does this and refuses to stop, or even worse, abet it by helping keep it secret as the Catholics are accused of doing. Would you blame Wal-Mart if one of their employees propositioned a hooker after hours?
