Your post and the debate which followed will be pulled. But go ahead and repost the verses if you’d like.

Psalm 140

Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men who devise evil things in their hearts; They continually stir up wars. They sharpen their tongues as a serpent; poison of a viper is under their lips.

Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men who have purposed to trip up my feet. The proud have a hidden trap for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me.

I said to the LORD, “You are my God; give ear, O LORD, to the voice of my supplications. O God the LORD, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle. Do not grant, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not promote his evil device, that they not be exalted.

As for the head of those who surround me, may the mischief of their lips cover them. May burning coals fall upon them; may they be cast into fire, into deep pits from which they cannot rise. May the slanderer not be established in the earth; may evil hunt the violent man speedily.

I know the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted and justice for the poor. Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name; the upright will dwell in your presence.

Beautiful Psalm. Pray for our souls as we prepare to do battle with the evil ones.

No Debate Allowed...

- snicker -

I shouldn't chuckle, but the 'No Debate Allowed' exhortation for prayer made me chuckle.

We are commanded by God to pray for our leaders, and if the Hebrews in exile in Babylon were told to pray for peace in the country which destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple -- then of course we will pray for our leaders.

Dear Heavenly Father. We take comfort and joy knowing that it is you who is in complete control. You set up kingdoms, and tear them down 'that the living may know that the Most High rulest in the kingdom of men and givest to whomsoever HE will, and settest over it the basest of men'...LORD, your mercies and blessings have been bountiful onto this land. We pray for our President-elect Obama, and that you guide him to do right. We beseech you to turn his heart against the worship of Molech that causes our infants to be sacrificed on the altar of convenience and 'standard of living'. We pray that you give him eyes to see and ears to hear to revere the only true God, and our Saviour - Jesus Christ our LORD. We pray that you make us into a people who revere and fear your NAME, and become worthy of Godly leaders. We pray this in the Name of our Lord, and Saviour - Jesus Christ.

I am not a very conventional religious individual. I was raised Christian, and believe in a Creator who is my God, and I do pray when moved to do so.

Your daily prayer thread is truly inspiring, and moving.

I pray for my Nation, that she survive the coming administration as she has survived previous administrations both good and no-so-good.

I pray for President-elect Obama as I prayed for President Bush and President Clinton before him, that he may have his eyes opened and his mind cleared and his heart made true by the grace of God, to see what is right and good, and act accordingly.

I pray for my fellow Americans, that we may find the strength and courage to do what will be necessary in the days and years ahead, to put our great Nation on steadier feet, and move to greater achievement, and to help the cause of peace. We do not seek war, but if we must wage war, I pray that we do so with honor and that we are victorious.

I try not to pray for things, or for outcomes. I try to pray for understanding, for wisdom, for clarity, for peace of mind.

God's grace is beyond my understanding, but I ask it, for Barack Obama, for our other Presidents and leaders, for all Americans, for myself.

And, dear Blogger, especially for you, who shows such wisdom and humility. Thank you.

Thank you for your beautiful words and for your prayer. There is a lot of wisdom in what you prayed...particularly about not praying for outcomes.

It is always challenging for us when we realize we aren’t God and that He doesn’t always think like we do. We know His ways are perfect; but sometimes His actions are beyond that which we can comprehend. So, we just trust Him to work everything out in His own way and time. Not sure what that means for our nation right now, but I don’t know that we are to know that piece of the puzzle just yet.

Again, thank you for your kindness and humble spirit.

LOL! I didn’t catch the humor in that title, but I get it now. :)

Your prayer seems so appropriate. It appears we are living in the days of Molech.

Thank you again, blogger for this most difficult thread. We need to persevere in what is right.. This is not easy when we are frustrated and angry. I do believe God hears our prayers.

And so, Heavenly Father,I ask that you will teach us your ways. Help us to know how to act and what to say in the face of our enemies. Please do not allow our country to be taken over by these enemies, liars and cruel men, who seek to kill infants in the wombs of their mothers. Keep us strong, dear Lord and help us to remember that You are a good and gracious God with whom we will one day spend eternity. That is our real hope! Help us to be patient with courage, knowing You are the source of real help in times of trouble.
Amen

I was glad for the cordial meeting between President Bush & President Elect Obama. It has been my continual prayer that O will have encounters with men of God who will influence him in the positive way he apparently has never experienced.

When I hear of others who say he is beyond hope, I recall Saul/Paul.

Now if he is the “beast”...well, Gods plans for us are still okay with me.

The kingdom of God surpasses the “’kingdom” of the USA

I wont post here every day but will come here every day & i pray many times a day — for oh so many things

I know a lot of people are very angry over this election - the results, the lies & the fraud. I guess I am too...we need to pray for ourselves for peace & clarity to see the next BEST steps for us

check your email later today blogger & thank you for your faithfulness in/with this thread
