Pray for our Nation & President-Elect Obama

A FEW NOTES TO THOSE WHO ARE VISITING THIS THREAD FOR THE FIRST TIME:

1) YES THIS IS A SERIOUS PRAYER THREAD. WE ARE COMMANDED BY THE LORD TO PRAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE OUR ENEMIES AND COMMANDED IN HIS WORD TO PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY THAT WE MAY LIVE PEACEFUL LIVES

2)YOUR RESPECT TOWARDS OUR DESIRE TO BE OBEDIENT AND TO SEEK THE LORD'S BLESSINGS FOR OUR NATION AND FOR THE CONVERSION OF OUR PRESIDENT-ELECT IS APPRECIATED

3)WHAT IS, IS. HE IS THE PRESIDENT-ELECT AND IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR US IF HE IS ON GOD'S SIDE RATHER THAN IF HE IS NOT.

4)THANK YOU FOR REFRAINING FROM RUDE COMMENTARY AND VULGARITIES. MANY FREEPERS TRULY FEEL LED TO PRAY FOR THE PRESIDENT-ELECT AND AMERICA ON A DAILY BASIS. THIS THREAD ALLOWS THEM TO DO SUCH, AND MANAGEMENT AND THE RELIGION MODERATOR WILL VIEW ANY RUDE OR VULGAR COMMENTARY ON THIS PRAYER THREAD AS A VIOLATION OF FREE REPUBLIC RULES IN THE RELIGION FORUM. YOU ARE FOREWARNED.

Dear Heavenly Father, This prayer thread will cover the end of the first week since we found out that America had elected Barack Obama as our President-Elect. And, today, we watched as he met with our current President, a man whom many of us have labored over in prayer for many years. We have seen Your grace upon this land during President Bush's time in office; and, we ask for more grace still under this very different administration.

Father, Barack Obama is slated to take over the most powerful position in the world. The kings and princes of Europe do not have the stature that this seat of authority has. The kings of the east do not have the influence either. America's fate truly is one which affects the entire world in one way or another. And her downfall would cause astonishment from East to West. Knowing this, we pray.

We pray first for forgiveness. We pray for putting money ahead of life. For putting popularity above justice For putting salaciousness over morality. We confess to You that this country has tried to fill its life with everything but You. We are drunk on our bigger cars, our bigger homes, our bigger paychecks and our bigger celebrity. We are rich, and increased with goods, and think we have need of nothing; and know not that we are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. We set up for ourselves idols of every stripe; and ignore You as the One True God of Heaven and Earth. How angry You must be with us. How Your heart must break when You see our depravity. Lord, we confess for our murders and our blasphemies, for our adulteries and fornications; for our greed and for our robbery, we deserve to be destroyed. And yet, the fact that You haven't done so up to this time is a testimony to Your grace and longsuffering mercy. And now, we come to this fork in the road where right is betrayed and wrong exalted, and where the whole world seems topsy turvy as the sheeple follow after a mere mortal as if he were god, and we wonder, is our time up? I couldn't blame You if it were. Still, I lift our nation nevertheless on the hope that Your well of mercy has not run dry. Save us, Lord. Save us from ourselves.

The more I hear Lord of the man that this nation just put in office, the more it is clear that our worst fears about him are true. A Marxist who has no regard for human life, who is an extremist in so many ways is now poised to take over the helm of United States of America. Along side of him he has a collection of extremists, both shrewd and dull, whose policies will further drive this nation towards the abyss. They have open arms for justice for terrorists. Yet, they have completely cut off the rights of the unborn in both their fully developed and embryonic states. The arrogance we are seeing is possibly indicative we may have as one represenative said, a potential dictator on our hands. We pray not for Obama in so far as he wishes to do that which is evil. We pray against these schemes and ask that You would shield us from harm. We do pray for his soul. As one captured by Satan's philosphies and appeal, President-Elect Obama needs You as his Savior to correct what is wrong. He is an empty but ambitious man. May his utter emptiness speak to his soul day and night until he is right by You. Change the heart of the President-Elect, Lord; and the people who got him elected. And for those who did not vote for him, change our hearts well; that we may be truly obedient to our Lord and Savior's command that we love our enemies. That we do good to those who despitefully use us. That we pray for our leaders and all who are in authority - that we may have peace in our lives.

Go with us Lord. Lord, get into Barack Obama's head and cause him to make good choices; choices which may even confound himself. Give him good counselors, not evil. And open the eyes of the American people before it is too late.

We love You Lord. We need You.

It is in the precious name of Christ Jesus my Lord that I pray these things.

Amen.

I pray, Lord, God Almighty,

that you will insure that the Supreme Court pulls the SElection out from under Obamao EMPHATICALLY with great finality and embarrassment for him and all those who support him.

Let him fall in the pit he and they have dug ASAP.

Let the ills and destructiveness he has planned for this nation befall him and all who supported him.

Let the curses he and ‘minister’ Wright have pronounced on this nation fall on them and on all they hold close and dear.

Let all his lies and deceptions be exposed in vivid neon light clarity.

Let all his associations be exposed for the destructive evil they are and represent.

Let the Supreme Court Justices have backbones of titanium and wills set for the truth like flint. Let no puppet masters manipulate nor threaten them successfully. Let them guard their authority zealously and insist on their ruling being carried out.

Let McCain and Palin take his place.

Let his response to the Court’s demand for a birth certificate be haughty outrage consistent with his character and major ways of operating most of his adult life. Let him presume to snowball, ignore, manipulate the Supreme Court and may he be reviled accordingly.

Cause every falsehood to be discovered early; exposed and rejected in the whole matter.

May the forces of darkness gnash their teeth on each other and destroy each other in their blind outrage at Obamao being dethroned.

May it happen in such a way that those with the least bit of discernment in the land and the world will KNOW THAT GOD ALMIGHTY HAS DONE IT.
