You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. (Psalm 91:5.6)
As we gather together in agreement for our brave and courageous military, we are asking You for this freedom for each member of our defenders of freedom. Let Your peace that passes understanding flood each heart and mind. Give them clear, undisturbed thinking so that they can perform their duties without the hindrances that fear brings. Continue to send them Your Word through whichever laborer is going to be the most effective for each precious soul.
We continue to trust You for the protection of their bodies and souls this day and for wisdom and skill for leadership.

Along with the Presidential Prayer Team this week, we also pray for Representative Mike Rogers. Once again, we thank You for sending to Washington someone who is called by Your name. Because he is one of Yours, we know that You have given him Your Spirit to lead him in the paths of righteousness and to guide him in all truth. Give him the time he needs to listen to and hear this voice of Truth. Draw him by Your love into a closer walk with You and give him greater revelation in the knowledge of You and Your ways of doing and being right. We pray that you would grant him boldness and courage to act when he hears Your direction. Protect him and his family from evil tongues and deliver them from temptation.
We honor You this day and thank You for answering our prayers in Jesus name. Amen
Thank you all for praying in agreement for our troops and heroes.

I join in prayer for our heroes!
I ask in Jesus Name for the protection for our Soldiers,
Sailors,Marines,Air Force,Coast Guard and all those serving
in the National Guard that the Mighty Hand of God would be on their lives continually as they serve this great country and the Constitution of the United States. When they are weary, Jesus, I pray, they will call out to You for their needs. Thank You, LORD for men and women at such a time as this!
May Nothing or ANYONE cause them to ever doubt their faith in You or their country or the the people they are protecting. Please make us ever mindful of their needs and the sacrifices that they and their families have and have paid for!
May Your Love surround them by day and by night.May our troops be paid the respect due them by the citizens of this wonderful country everyday with handshakes, salutes, smiles and gifts that you make know through the Holy Spirit! May our American Heroes, know that they are heroes to US! Please cover them all where ever they may be with the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, May Jesus Christ be lifted up for all men to see and worshiped as the King of Kings and LORD of Lords,Praise His name Forever and ever, amen.
The following was originally printed in a daily devotional that my Mom gave to my Dad as he was shipped off on a minesweeper to the Pacific in WW II. The book is called Strength for Service to God and Country. This devotional was for SEPTEMBER 11!!
CHOSEN TO SUFFER
They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name. (Acts 5:41).
All of us are called upon to suffer in one way or another. Much of our suffering goes to waste because it is not geared up with an all-compelling purpose.
A great cause, such as liberty, chooses men who are big enough to suffer, men who can take it. It chooses men who have the stuff in them to endure hardships; who can laugh at privations; who are willing to give up privileges, comforts, and ease.
It chooses men like the apostles who, after being treated in a most shameful way and cruelly flogged, came from that experience rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer for the name of Christ.
Great causes have a way of choosing men who are worthy to suffer. And it is through men that suffer that great causes come to victory. The highest blessings that we enjoy today came in this way. Christ on the cross, Washington at Valley Forge, Lincoln baited by newspapers and even by his cabinet members, and a few among many who were chosen to suffer for great purposes and were found worthy bringing victory to the cause that chose them.
In these days, the great cause of liberty is again choosing men to suffer for its sake. Shall we who are chosen be found worthy?
Prayer:
Our Father, we are being called upon to suffer for the sake of all men everywhere. The great cause of liberty, with all that it means, is calling for men who are worthy. Wilt Thou make us worthy in every way. Keep the high purpose of freedom upper-most in our hearts, and cleanse us from all selfishness. Dedicate us anew to the high cause of world brotherhood, and give us the victory of an enduring peace. And so shall our suffering be not in vain. In the Spirit of Christ we pray. Amen
'I Trust in the Mercy of God Forever and Ever.'(Ps.52:8)
