Go West, young man!
For most evangelicals, Jesus instruction in Matthew 28:19 to Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations is a serious command, and it is an integral part of the mission statement of most churches. A great many churches take up special offerings and allocate funds towards missionaries they support.
The western world countries (where Christianity once flourished) are still where the majority of missionaries are supported from, often by the prayers and small monthly donations from faithful Christians that want to be the hands and feet of Jesus in countries they will probably never visit. Without this prayer and funding from the western world, the heart of the support base that makes mission work possible would be removed.
Stab the Heart Many western world Christians look at Jesus command as if their own countries are somehow excluded, forgetting perhaps that in years past countless missionaries strived long and hard to convert the land they live in to the Christian faith. Its as if they think of missions as something that occurs elsewhere. But the command says make disciples of all of the nations . This includes our own!
The Christian church in the western world is shrinking rapidly. Up to 70% of young people from Christian homes abandon their faith. If this trend continues, where will the church be in 3 generations? Where will missionaries get the support they need to carry out Jesus command? How can Christians turn this trend around and reach the west with the Gospel?...

I will be gone for a few days. Would anyone be willing to post a few Creation/ID articles while I’m gone? It would be most appreciated.
See you in a few days :o)
All the best to you and yours—GGG
We need Catholics to go West and make the population Catholic. Having the World’s number one Religon Catholic is not enough...we need even more Catholics.
I read that Baptists are starting new churches in New England. I don’t care if it Catholic Baptist Methodist at this point just so long as Jesus Christ is taught
The US is rapidly becoming a missions field. So few out here in California seem to have any concept of what the Gospel is. We have a missions field on our hands folks!
I believe many churches already are aware of this and it has caused the trendy “seeker friendly” movement. Watered down sermons, don’t talk about the blood of Jesus, don’t mention sin unless you immediately follow it with grace, be accepting of everyone and their behavior. I do not think “seeker friendly” is the answer to the Christian church’s problem, it is a complete lack of respect for God and His ways in our society which is the real problem. Seeker friendly does little to fix that.
Excellent post. See my comments to my own post:

With the good mods indulgence to those that missed it here is what I posted the other day:
Considering Relocating? Think about Colorado Springs
Outside Magazine just ranking Colorado Springs as the best place to live.
http://outside.away.com/outside/destinations/200908/best-towns-america-colorado-springs.html
Outside Magazine lists as a drawback that it might be get this TOO CONSERVATIVE for some people.
As you know, Money Magazine consistently usually ranks it number 1 as well. http://www.ownyourownmountain.com/artman/publish/Gazette_Telegraph_Article.html
I f you or a CONSERVATIVE person is considering relocating, Id invite you to tell them about this family values oasis. Id personally suggest Northern Colorado Springs as being the best and the most conservative. And just to lay my cards on the table, I am not in the Real Estate business and make nothing off anyone moving here. I just know that Soros and others have dumped millions into Colorado and have succeeding in taking over the state government for the first time in decades recently.
The Springs loses out to Denver and Boulder in the state elections but it is still close enough to make a difference.
Pass this along.
This is an awesome post. Thanks GGG. My little city in the Bible belt is a mission field.
The idea of being sensitive to seeker is a good one, but so is holiness and separation. The fruits of taking both of them too far as produced what we have in our country now. I’m not advocating being moderate, I’m advocating doing what the Bible says.
well said, pc churches are poison.
Look for more Christian missionaries from areas that “used” to be missionary territory in the global south to come to the west to do the new missions fields in the USA.
Thanks for the ping!
None answered your call for help.
On what basis have you concluded this?
Please put this issue to rest. Do you, when you refer to the Intelligent Designer, absolutely believe that God is the Intelligent Designer?
Sorry. Wrong thread. I base it on the fact that none were posted. I asked one of your pingee's why he wasn't posting for you and he said that you could carry the load.
