Vanity: Is it just me or is anyone else seeing Ezekiel 38-39 shaping up??

Has anyone else read "Ezekiel Option" by Joel Rosenberg?? While I KNOW scripture will unfold EXACTLY as God fortold, it seems as though God has given Rosenberg a true gift. I can't help but think with the nuke treaty, this plane crash, they way Obama is turning his back on Israel, etc. that we are on the precepise of something HUGE and that it may be unfolding very close to what Rosenberg wrote. Rosenberg is not the authority, God's word is, but I really feel God has given him the gift to take scripture and current events and tie them together. Does anyone else see this?? What are your thoughts???

Feelings are for liberals. Being grounded in the facts of the scriptures is for the Conservative mind. For instance why just feel like you are saved when scripture gives us the facts, direction, and certainty if we are or not. This is the one thing I’ve always held against some of the Pentecostal church, they travel on feelings and emotion. That is okay for them but I don’t need that in my life. (like a scene out of Elmer Gantry)

Well, you go on cheering on Satan and his crowd. Go on drawing your pretty multi-colored maps of your imaginary futures. Meanwhile, the faithful saints will shape the future you are trying to predict, as they follow the King of Kings on his triumphal march through history.

When God discredited the Japanese Shinto cult, Douglas MacArthur begged America for 10,000 missionaries. What he got was engineers -- and today, Japan is one of the most materialistic countries on earth. When Soviet Communism fell, we were somewhat better prepared, and made it to the Eastern bloc just about the same time as the porn merchants. My church, for example, started planting daughter churches in Poland and Ukraine in 1990.

When Islam falls, and a billion people wander what to do with their lives, I pray we'll be ready. The fortune tellers, however, who have already conceded the game to the other team, should shut up and quit undermining the morale of God's people. See Numbers 13 -- doomsaying is not a safe occupation. I pray that the doomsayers will be speedily silenced, so that the faithful and faith-filled Christians can get on about their assigned tasks.

TO ALL: While this thread seems to have gone in some crazy directions (and I too am guilty) This was meant ONLY to provoke and add to the discussion of what MAY be happening in light of prophetic scripture. It seems to have gone the way of pre-trib/post-trib/no trib, etc...

Can we ALL agree (well maybe not all) that Jesus is the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE and there is no other way unto salvation and that He is returning and we need to be busy in spreading the gospel to a dead and dying world??? Sheesh!!!

Anyone who contemptuously dismisses the power of the Gospel in this life deserves to be hooted off the stage. Anyone who preaches, promotes, and celebrates an anticipated global triumph of evil is furthering the ambitions of Satan, and working against God and His people.

I find it interesting that I'm reading this, sitting in a hotel room in Nahariyya having spent the day in the Old City of Akko (Acre), walking the streets walked by Alexander the Great, Marco Polo, and Richard the Lionheart. A city peopled by the Phoenicians, the tribe of Asher, the Egyptians, the Trojans, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Saracens, The Crusaders, the Arabs, the Turks, the British, and now the Israelis. And ALL of these people, groups and individuals, as well as St. Ambrose, St. Augustine, St. Jerome and a number of modern-day bible-speculators each have their own ideas as to who Gog and Magog might be.

Myself, I always fall back on Ecclesiastes 1 - 9.

How is Gio a doomsayer in that he/she is only taking God at HIS word??? How is believing and stating what GOD states in His word being a doomsdayer?? By your standard, John was a doomsdayer, or even God for that matter. It is just ridiculous to call all of us who take God at HIS (not ours) literal word, a doomsdayer. I assume you believe in a literal hell, if I apply your standard I could say you are a “doomsdayer” by believing millions go to an actual hell. I don’t get how believing that at some point Jesus comes back as a warrior and smites his enemies once and for all and then sets up his kingdom is a doomsday scenario. Sounds like message of hope that Satan and all that follow him get what they are asking for and Jesus takes his rightful place. I think all Gio and I are doing is being what we are COMMANDED to be, watchmen on a wall. I would also hope that even MORE importantly, we are also being what we are commanded to be, salt and light and ambassadors of the gospel and taking the truth to a dead and dying world! I am NOT applying this to you, but I think, often times, those that don’t want to look at prophecy and see what is happening around them in light of scripture, do so because they are really too attached to this world and d are “sad” at the thought of seeing it come to an end.. FWIW They are more of this world then they should be, i.e. they like their material possessions, careers, etc. Not those things are necessarily evil, but their eternal perspective is off.

Besides , this is probably a very small part of our Christian walk, in that I, as I can only speak for myself, spend the vast majority of my time tallking to others about the plan of salvation and not the second coming and all that entails.

It's ironic that the Japanese are what they are today because they adopted Quality concepts originated by an American and rejected by American corporations: An exceptionally efficient society at all levels and a country a heckuva lot cleaner and safer than a significant portion of the good ol' USA. And God had nothing to do with it. Those who pretend to know the mind of God are full-blown delusional.

Reading fortunes and reading Scripture are completely different things. One points to God and His coming Glory, the other does not give God the glory and takes it from Him.

Jesus instructed us that we would not know the date or the time of His return, but we would know the season, and that we are to WATCH. That is all that is suggested. That we watch the signs and the times, and to look to the Scriptures, as Jesus commanded us to.

We are looking for His return as our Blessed Hope. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords, and He is returning. We know not know when, but we long for it, so we watch. At the same time, we understand the urgency in sharing the Gospel with as many as we can. Nothing will stop God’s Word from reaching the corners of the world. It is all in Scripture. Satan can’t stop God—just as Satan cannot stop Prophecy from being fulfilled.

All glory and honor to the Lamb that sits on the Throne!

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20

There have always been earthquakes in diverse places. He didn’t say that these things were omens of the End. He said we would experience them or learn about them but the “end is not yet.” I take that to mean that we will have a tendency to fear the End when we see all those things but that they do not signify the End.

Regardless of how we live our lives, we still fall short in the eyes of God. Jesus Christ came to this earth for the sole purpose of taking on our sins and dying with them.

Salvation is a gift of God that can not be earned or bought. We can not take credit for any of our salvation, it is attained through faith in Jesus Christ and that faith is a gift from the Holy Spirit.

Good works are a result of this gift, but not a reason for salvation.

God bless

In my reading of all scripture on the subject there is the Tribulation and the Great tribulation.

7 yr Trib and 3.5 years of the Great Trib. The point at which the antichrist is revealed and the fullness of God’s wrath is poured out on man.

............”It doesn't take very long to realize that a thorough understanding of the Bible — and this would actually apply to any complex work from any culture — requires specialized knowledge, and a broad range of specialized knowledge in a variety of fields.”............

I will disagree that the bible requires a “specialized knowledge in a variety of fields” to understand what is written. A child understands many of the verses and yet a theologian can spend hours referencing verses to gain an enlarged understanding. The Bible itself oftentimes interprets its meaning.

The problem some face is realizing it is a Book as none other, and that isn't even open for debate as it's history reflects it's passed thru generations and still stands as the most popular read.

I think rather it is with ones attitude and how the scripture is approached that can determine what will or not be understood. You can read it as a record of History and it will prove to be interesting in that respect, you can also read it for comfort or encouragement and it does this as well, you can read it to find out about God and He will surely reveal Himself thru it's pages, or you can search it for answers and they will too be revealed with time.

Hi Princess.... Your question of where to go is not unusual when one wants to discover more about God and just what their own standing might be. This in itself is often times evidence God is moving in a persons heart and mind and that’s a very good thing. We simply on our own do not desire to know apart from His drawing us...so this is actually exciting and a beautiful thing to have occur in our life. But the questions of where to begin remains.

In my opinion you cannot go wrong by starting to read the Bible. Don’t be concerned with what you might not understand rather pay more attention to what you do understand. Ask God to show you what you should know and about Himself...I promise you He will not disappoint you and you will be quite amazed.

As for a church to go to....even that will be revealed in time but I generally think it is very wise to begin with you and God and the letters He wrote to us as a compass to discover what He desires we know.

There are many who attend a church but lack the relatioship with God He desires...so beginning with Him is the perfect place to start. Just read and talk to Him about what you are reading...then read some more. The book of John is a great book to begin in for it reveals Gods love to us in so many ways and is a comfortable read.

I think when people mention a Bible believing church ...well that is church talk though they are quite right to say that. It just means the leadership and the people believe in the scriptures, what is written and the pastor preaches and teaches from the Bible.

I understand that. And I am not suggesting a “good Christian” for lack of a better word will be spared everything going on. However, I would rather try (and understand I am saying try, not accomplishing) to be the best I know how per the teachings of Christ than to assume there is on point in tryinig. And yes I will fall short. I am deeply grateful for the Atonement- I understand the principle but I certainly do not understand the process.

I just know Christ died for men’s sins and did something for me I can not do for myself. And that is precious to me.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I deeply apprecaite your perspective.

Eschatology is one of the most precarious aspects of theological thought since it attempts to explain things that have not happened yet, and even when they do our language and understanding might be too limited to fathom them.

My main problem with the topic is that the west has often view the “last days” through an American perspective. The middle east climatic battles are read on what is America’s role.

My Orthodox Christian beliefs tend to view my Church’s role which says that we are Christians first, and nationalist (Americans) second.

Hello anti-hillary.

I enjoy very much Rosenbergs books and as mentioned before have his most current articles and alerts e-mailed to me as they happen. Indeed He is very much aware of prophetic events but does not go off into the hyper state that some do every time there is something that might mean something prophetically.

We are called to be aware but more so be wise in our understanding of the times..... that means though we understand the times we are not to be hasty to think ahead of God as some do...as He could and has slowed things down or speeds them up in the past and as He chooses.

Earthquakes and that mentioned in Matthew have and will be with us...these are the birth-pangs and the beginnings. I generally focus on the alignment of nations and watch the world stage in that respect....and it is continually in motion.

But it is most interesting how things have shifted since BO took office and the overall opinions of world leaders concerning the moves Bo makes... or better said lacks making. The US has always been in the forefront and has many times used it's powers to put pressure on rouge nations and such.. to keep the lid on otherwise volatile situations. It is obvious our leadership now has no aspirations to do this and other countries see this quite clearly, so they are on the move in a big way while the door is open to do so.

Bo is giving a free pass to all while he suffocates the United States. But even this is prophetic....the Us will loose it's leadership role among the nations and we see this happening under the leadership of this President....so it could be for only a time the nations will move as we see them doing now, only to see that window close down after we elect the next Pres. And then things may calm down once more....or they will errupt even further....time will tell. For now I am looking still for His return...each and every day as I have done now for several years.

As many years as I have known the Lord I would have to say it this way....I am so looking forward to finally seeing Him without the hinderances we have in our earthly life. He is the love of my life.

You see it’s rather like a wife greeting her husband after he has been away so to speak. Though she has been occupied and doing work while he is gone...she anticipates his return....the longer he is away the stronger the desire to see Him again. Though you stay in contact through communicating you just want so much to be together. So it is a longing for the Lord one has within themselves. “ a heart panting after God” as is written...the more you get to know Him the more you want to know and love Him.

I am ready to go any time He wants me to go....but not until all who want to come to Him have done so, which is the only reason He hasn’t come for us so far. There are people He is still drawing to Himself and we don’t know when that will cease.
