Glenn Beck to Give Liberty U. Commencement Speech
Christianity Today ^ | April 23, 2010 | Sarah Pulliam Bailey

Fox News commentator Glenn Beck will deliver the commencement address at Liberty University's May 15 graduation.

“Beck is one of the few courageous voices in the national media standing up for the principles upon which this nation was founded,” Jerry Falwell Jr., chancellor of Liberty University, said in the school newspaper's story.

The baccalaureate address will be delivered by Paige Patterson, president of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, whom Falwell called one of the “patriarchs of Christian higher education."

In 2008, Focus on the Family pulled an interview with Beck over concerns with his Mormon faith. Christianity Today did a feature on Liberty last fall and has followed Beck's call to "leave your church" if it promotes social justice.

I know that, but wondered what your message was concerning the Masonic Symbols.

Beck has related his “six month conversion research story” many times on the radio. I haven’t heard it since he got the TV shows, though (I could have easily missed it). The “wifey told me to” story was a TV interview I think, after he got the TV shows, if I recall.

Nope, keep looking. You might try other sources outside your usual sites. ;-)

Of course I didn’t give you a source. Keep looking. You can find transcripts also on CNN, as he used to work there too.

True Christianity isn’t RELIGION, it is a RELATIONSHIP. But the LDS don’t ever get that.

Ah, the ol' pentagram/occult accusation. This one is always fun to see.

I put this one in the mote/beam category.

Here's a sample of pentagrams found in church architecture all over the world, across different Christian denominations, including Baptist. Note, none of these are LDS, you've already supplied those.

Well, you can start with the DVD mentioned in post #7 & the clip Elsie found in post #56. (And that’s just the tip of the iceberg)
_________________________________________________________________________

DVD? Like I said, proselytizing on the radio or TV. Nope.

The great irony here is that if you actually watch the DVD in question, it’s on there too, his futile effort to prove the church untrue through his research and even time on the sites you guys get your stuff from.

Just becuase he converted doesn’t mean he researched it thoroughly.

The LDS missionaries place an emphasis on feelings not facts.

I wonder how much Beck knows about the Kinderhook plates, or the Book of Abraham papyrus?

His faith in Mormonism shows he isn’t at all the researcher he claims to be.

Mind reading? I had what the LDS call a ‘relationship’ with the LDS ‘Savior’ while LDS, but what you don’t get is that that the LDS NEVER and CANNOT have a “PERSONAL relationship” with Jesus. The LDS church forbids it (See McConkie or I can post the source). You cherish something you cannot have in Mormonism

The LDS believe they have a relationship with ‘the Savior’ but it isn’t a saving relationship or faith at all. It is cold, distant, and formal, completely different than a true, personal faith.

The LDS Savior cannot save. Only the Jesus of the Bible can.

I often offer to post sources, and do so upon request becauese I can source my statments.

I asked you for a source yet you failed to provide it. That says very loudly you do not have one.

Put up or shut up.

News flash the “church of the Eternal light” isn’t a Christian church, it is an occult/spiritualist ‘church’, which proves OUR point.

AFA the other pics, please post which churches they are from so we can see just how many pentagrams are really on Christian churches.

Here is the beginning...more at the link...

I shall express the view of the Brethren, of the prophets and apostles of old, and of all those who understand the scriptures and are in tune with the Holy Spirit.

These matters lie at the very foundation of revealed religion. In presenting them I am on my own ground and am at home with my subject. I shall not stoop to petty wranglings about semantics but shall stay with matters of substance. I shall simply go back to basics and set forth fundamental doctrines of the kingdom, knowing that everyone who is sound spiritually and who has the guidance of the Holy Spirit will believe my words and follow my counsel.

Please do not put too much stock in some of the current views and vagaries that are afloat, but rather, turn to the revealed word, get a sound understanding of the doctrines, and keep yourselves in the mainstream of the Church.

Now, it is no secret that many false and vain and foolish things are being taught in the sectarian world and even among us about our need to gain a special relationship with the Lord Jesus. I shall summarize the true doctrine in this field and invite erring teachers and beguiled students to repent and believe the accepted gospel verities as I shall set them forth.

http://speeches.byu.edu/reader/reader.php?id=6843

There is no salvation in believing any false doctrine, particularly a false or unwise view about the Godhead or any of its members. Eternal life is reserved for those who know God and the One whom he sent to work out the infinite and eternal atonement.

True and saving worship is found only among those who know the truth about God and the Godhead and who understand the true relationship men should have with each member of that Eternal Presidency.

It follows that the devil would rather spread false doctrine about God and the Godhead, and induce false feelings with reference to any one of them, than almost any other thing he could do. The creeds of Christendom illustrate perfectly what Lucifer wants so-called Christian people to believe about Deity in order to be damned.

misplaced the link, the whole quote is McConkie, an ‘apostle’ and General Authority of the LDS church.
