A documentary look at some of the breakthroughs in modern science that have led many scientists to acknowledge the existence of God, or at least verify an intelligent design behind the universe.

A half-century ago, in 1955, Professor Antony Flew set the agenda for modern atheism with his “Theology and Falsification”, a paper presented in a debate with C.S. Lewis. This work became the most widely reprinted philosophical publication of the last 50 years. Over the decades, he published more than 30 books attacking belief in God and debated a wide range of religious believers.

Then, in a 2004 Summit at New York University, Professor Flew announced that the discoveries of modern science have led him to the conclusion that the universe is indeed the creation of infinite Intelligence.

Last week, Richard Carrier, a writer and Columbia University graduate student, posted new material based on correspondence with Flew on the atheistic www.infidels.org Web page. Carrier assured atheists that Flew accepts only a "minimal God" and believes in no afterlife.

I sure hope that all the atheists who stubbornly cling to their faith in the face of science's inexorable advancement will find that comforting.

Shalom.

This guy decided there was no God at the age of 15 and went till he was 81 before he realized.

Good he realized, but he might’ve considered at age 15 did he really collect enough data at such a young age to make a qualified decision to base living his whole life on.

Took him all his life to be confronted with facts that made him realize his mistake.

The question is; does God recognize HIM?

And henceforth his much needed opinion God is not actively involved in human affairs...because if he was then this guy would have to face the fact that he has lived a lifetime blindly as to the consideration and care as to the meaning of his existence.

Like Detroit manufacturing a car and distributing an instruction manual as to how it was designed to work and how to care for it, instead he just took the car and figured he knew all about it.

Good thing he lived till 81. Maybe that was not incidental.

A very well done film called “God of Wonders” demontrates without a doubt the existance of God. You cannot watch this film and still come away thinking it was all some sort of cosmic accident. And the cinimatograpy is as good or better than anything out of Hollywood.

View the trailer:

God’s wonders surround us. And these marvels reveal much about our Creator. Through creation we glimpse His power and wisdom, His majesty and care. Creation is speaking to those who will listen…

Join us on a remarkable journey of discovery as we explore the Creator’s handiwork and what His creation reveals about His character. Survey the unimaginable size of the universe and ponder the vast energy present in all matter. Examine the elegant water molecule essential to all life and discover how God combines these molecules to form beautiful and symmetrical snow crystals. Learn about the incredible complexity of DNA and the miraculous workings of the tiny seed. From the design functionality of birds to the incredible transformation of butterflies, these and many other features of creation are highlighted in this visually stunning presentation.

God of Wonders is a breath-taking tour of God’s creation wonders, visible and invisible, and the greatest wonder of all – His redeeming love!

“Declare His glory…His wonders among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3

Recognizing there is a god is not the same thing as knowing the one true God as Savior and Lord. Even the demons know there’s a God. Doesn’t help them, won’t help this guy.

I hope He comes to the conclusion Christ is who He said He was. Right now this guy said his idea of god is far different than Christianity’s God. Intellectual assent to a notion of god won’t help anyone, in terms of his own eternity he hasn’t progressed.

Thanks for the ping, Buggman.

I hope it doesn't take Professor Flew another 81 years to come around to a belief in a Theistic God, the understanding that an omnipotent God is not "uninterested" in His own Creation.

Flew has acknowledged the existence of an Intelligent Designer.
However, Flew still insists on designing Him to his own specifications.

If somebody just bought this guy a block of wood with which to fashion his own Idol, it might simplify things. Incense is cheap, too.

I wouldn’t even say he’s designing his god to his own specifications. He may be just thinking his god must be this and that by his own discoveries, accurate or not.

Whatever he’s doing, it isn’t going to get him to the true God. And it’s a shame too because as a scientist he would love the intricate, complex, designing, mind of God as well as His other attributes.

Our church is currently hosting The Truth Project series. Fascinating, and a clear campaign on a national scale through the nation's churches to counter the decades long rot of the universities.

I plan on buying the whole series, which I don't tend to do. It's that excellent, especially if you have kids and people in your sphere of influence who shy from anything academia.

The Good Shepherd will gladly recognize him. A lost lamb was found.

And, as we learned in the Prodigal Son, better late than never.
