Pray For America's Heroes and Our Nation
Oh LORD, Our One and Only God!
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
How Wonderful, How Holy, How Righteous and How Just and True You Are!
For You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise and Worship,
And You Alone Transcend Time and Space,
For You Alone Are The Creator of All That Is!
Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
With Our Whole Soul, Mind, Heart, and Strength,
With Everything that has Your Precious Breath of Life,
We Love You!
We Thank You For You Righteous and Holy Word,
Your Perfect Precepts and Judgments.
In Our Hearts We Know That No Human Being Could Ever
Live Up To Your Holy Standard of Purity and Holiness.
We Know You Have Given us Your Law To Teach us How Holy You Are,
And How Sinful We Are.
We Thank You For Your Precious American Heroes,
Who stand on the front Lines Between us and Terror.
Dear Jesus, We ask for forgiveness for ourselves,
As we Pray for Our Nation.
We ask You to reverse the trends of evil and selfishness
that have taken hold in our own Land.
We beg that You will restore Faith in You,
The One True God,
and that Our own Nation will Once Again be Known as one
who keeps Her Promises to Her Friends and Allies,
and NOT as A Truce-Breaker.
We pray for an end to the evil practice of abortion in our country,
And a Restoration of Faith and Righteousness.
We Plead with You,
That You will Raise up Godly Leadership to lift the People out of bondage.
Beloved Holy Spirit, Our Comforter and Friend,
Bring Your Message of Love to Our Dear American Heroes on silken wings.
Whisper in Their Ears Your Salvation and Your Promise.
Keep Them All in Your Tender Loving Care.
Be With Their Families and loved Ones as Well.
Let Them know we have NOT forgotten Them.
In Jesus Name
Amen

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND NATION!
THE TWENTY-THIRD PSALM
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

Garlic And Sapphires
If you show partiality, you commit sin. James 2:9
In her fascinating book Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise, Ruth Reichl reflects on her 6 years as a New York Times restaurant critic. Because she was the most influential critic in the country, top restaurants posted her photograph so their employees could recognize her. Hoping to earn a high rating in the New York Times, the staff intended to provide her with their top service and best cuisine.
In response, Reichl developed a clever strategy. Hoping to be treated as a regular patron, she disguised herself. On one occasion, she dressed up as an old woman. The restaurant made her wait a long time to be seated and then was unresponsive to her requests.
In the early church, James spoke out against favoritism: [If] you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, You sit here in a good place, and say to the poor man, You stand there, or, Sit here at my footstool, have you not shown partiality among yourselves? (2:3-4).
When people attend our churches, are they treated impartially? Or do we show favoritism to the wealthy or elite? God calls us to show concern for and interest in all people, regardless of their social status. Lets welcome all to join us in worshiping the King!
Dear Lord, You welcomed us into Your kingdom, not because of who we are but because of who You are our loving and merciful God. Help us to open our arms of fellowship to all who enter in. Amen.
God lets us into His fellowship. Who are we to keep others out?

Amen to that precious lesson about The Restaurant Critic!
As I have grown in years, I have noticed a distinct difference in the way I am treated in businesses, so this really rang a bell with me.
Thank you, Mr. Mayor for your prayers for Our Nation and Our Troops, and for the lesson in civility,
which is a good one for all!
And of course, the Hot Cup of Joe!
