MetMom Serious Prayer Need--EATING threatened [Update @560]
Curious space between Quix's ears & consulatations w MetMom | 18 AUG 2010 | Quix

Posted on 08/21/2010 9:18:48 PM PDT by Quix

Metmom has had allergies and food allergies her entire life. In the last few years they have gotten steadily and progressively worse. Foods have been dropping out of her diet until she reached the point she is at now and can only eat rice, chicken, lamb, and venison. Anything else causes her to react rather destructively, debilitatingly.

The problem is that the repeated continual exposure to the few remaining foods, could lead to a sensitivity to those as well, which has just happened to two foods she had been safely eating since October.

There are options for nutrition should she start to react to all foods, but they are used only in the most dire situations. She's concerned about reaching that point--and frankly has been feeling more than a little discouraged by all such.

She has undergone extensive medical testing which has all been inconclusive. Almost everything comes back normal or negative, and the few things that she does test positive for aren’t what causes her the most problems.

She is attempting to get into a regional medical center for more specialized medical evaluation to see if they can determine the cause and possible treatment, if any exists.

She has been prayed for and anointed numerous times over the years, however, she would appreciated continued prayer for complete healing.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND HER PLIGHT with as much empathy as you can. She's been through a 1,001 suggestions and tried a LOT of different things. She's been through the Henry Wright seminar and prayers extensively. I don't think she is quite up to handling any more suggestions currently. Those who've been through such can understand such a feeling. She just greatly would appreciate your understanding and PARTICULARLY YOUR CARING PRAYERS.

This summary is per my understanding and might be stated somewhat differently were she writing it herself. I believe she'd affirm the truth of what I've said but these are essentially my words.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

You know about the whole "leaky gut" thing, right???

Oh, yes, I am very aware of it, and it likely plays a role. The issue is getting enough probiotics in me to help.

You do learn a lot by yourself. The internet is a great resource.

To: mdmathis6; I still care

That sounds just like what the doctor was talking about.

He said that sometimes a few months off food seems to let the body adjust itself and when you go off it, you can eat again.

I noticed that he said *sometimes*.

And if it doesn’t???

I didn’t ask....

I’ve been taking Vitamin D, although not that much. And been getting plenty of sun this wonderful summer.

I’ve had blood work for that and it shows normal levels, just like everything else....

There has been no diagnosis other than allergies. It’s been a life long thing and I do not take much in the way of medicine. Right now, it’s a couple standard anti-histamines, Singular, abuterol for a few weeks (until weed season is over) and some CaMg supplements and vitamin D.

This is not side effects to medication that I can figure.

I did do the allergy shots route and that helped TREMENDOUSLY for my pollen allergies but during that same time the food reactions have continued to worsen.

Prayers up, Metmom.

Since you and your husband have allergies (and from what you say, your daughter having issues), have you tested your residence and surrounding area (underground waste, old mines, drinking water, molds, etc)for possible causes.

I’ve been tested several times in several ways for different forms of celiac and all have come back negative.

I actually don’t mind the suggestions on the forum. You never know when it might be able to help someone else.

I disagree only because there are a lot of other people who will benefit from what is shared = esp the non traditional medical helps.

At many threads I learned a whole lot in these issues that would not have been there had it all just been shared by FR mail

There ... that is probably the only time in this lifetime I will disagree with you. I am normally 100% with you on things

Hugs to you this Lord’s Day

Praying hard.

I wish I understood the biology of auto-immune attacks. A lot of us have small versions of the extreme, life-threatening one you have.

I note that a lot of people find their child suddenly gets strong allergies right after a vaccination. Is there any time-correlation for this beginning after the same for you? A flu shot? The 4th flu shot? Just wondering.

Will keep praying. This is not fair and you should not have to suffer this.

There are allergic responses which I am grateful to have never experienced, migraines being one of them. My heart goes out to you.

Thanks for the prayers.

Yes, D3 is miraculous. I hope MetMom can find a way to up hers. If not lying nearly naked in the sun, then maybe the clear tiny drops that have no added cr@p in them. They have 2000 units per tiny drop. But not sure she can take anything by mouth, so it might have to be sun exposure.

That’s very unusual for Wegman’s.

You might want to consider contacting someone in upper management in Rochester NY and complaining.

Wow, prayers up! Perhaps an online search of exotic farmers in your area might turn up something you can handle. Maybe you can go directly to the source.

You’re a precious Dear.

And, actually, I agree with you about that.

However, my preference and tendency is to defer to the person concerned.

I REALLY DO try very hard to DO UNTO OTHERS as I’d want in their shoes. And when in doubt, I defer to their preferences even though mine in their shoes would likely be different.

We’ve both had allergies from birth. His have improved. My have worsened.

We have moved a couple times and it hasn’t made any difference in my food problems.

FWIW, although nobody has brought it up yet, organic doesn’t help either. I have a vegetable garden and grow everything organically (I could make a fortune if I got certified) and even that doesn’t make any difference. I react to those vegetables just like I react to all others.

My problems aren’t to the classic allergy provoking substances, surprisingly, it’s to everything else; stuff usually nobody reacts to - like virtually all vegetables and most fruits.

The threads I’ve learned the most on are neverdem’s health threads. He posts a lot of cutting edge stuff that has been very useful.

Surprisingly, my reactions are not the anaphylactic variety, no hives, no swelling, no asthma attacks.

I get eczema really badly and my digestive track just burns along with my mouth, like the same reaction on my skin is happening internally. I have other symptoms as well that are not classic allergic responses.

I feel like I’m going to die when it happens, but obviously :) that hasn’t happened yet.
