When are we saved?
Antinomianism and Salvation ^ | November 19,2010 | Gart O'Toole

But "legalists" wants you to live under the Old Testament law in order to get "Tithes" to pay their mortgages as "professional Christians" and to do this they reimpose the falsehood that you must live a"sinless" life. Sin is undefined but they want to throw you back under the law to get you to pay money and feel guilt when your salvation was a free gift from God. The key to this argument is Paul in Chapter 7 of Romans.

This was evidently not Ananias’s understanding of water baptism, as he told Saul/Paul, who had come to belief in Jesus on the way to Damascus, “And now why do you delay? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.” Acts 22:16.

Even the Disciples themselves disagreed on some legalist points. Christ didn't save the thief by water Baptism but by His blood. Salvation came to Nicademous {sorry for spelling} before Baptism. Actually his Baptism is not mentioned.

You may do the Eucharist daily ... it is a great way to humble yourself and keep Him ever in mind as your soul hournies tot eh end of the bodily trip. I start my day and end my day with prayer to the Lord, and that serves a similar function daily for me. But I do receive the Eucharist when I can because Jesus suggested we do that particular ritual in remembrance of Him. If you need to partake of the bread and wine so often to keep Him ever in your mind and heart, by all means do it. But don't fault those who understand this issue differently, who have excellent exegetic reasons for their belief.

The bread and wine do not save you nor will eschewing it a particular number of times dissolve your salvation. The day I got born again, I started counting the days until I could be baptised in the Church I chose for that obedience. The Lord told me to say aloud a particular thing at my baptism and I couldn't wait to get it done! I couldn't even quote the particular passage where the saying is found at that time, but when I came to the baptism pool, the Pastor stopped the process and asked me 'Has God given you something to share with us?' It was an extraordinary thing because it was not a part of the usual procession. I turned teary eyed to the congragationa nd said what I was told, then got baptised and sprang fromt he pool like a new man ... 'cause I was! nad I still am, thanks be to God.

The thing I was to say is found in Matthew chapter ten, verses 32 and 33 IIRC.

Few Catholics, if any, would go to daily Mass if the Host wasn't real. There would be no reason for a Mass actually; it would just be a service, and we can easily read our Bibles, and pray at home. The Church draws the big numbers daily, because Jesus IS there, in both real and symbolic fashion through the Eucharist. (Lord knows I wouldn't roll out of bed at 5:00 a.m. every day to receive a "cracker.")

I don't fault those who believe otherwise (I was a Lutheran for 33 years), but I don't sit back when others tell me that Jesus is not in the Eucharist, because He IS, and He stated very clearly in the Bible that that was so.

That being said, I am happy to hear you are a new man. Praise Jesus!

As Father Corapi says, “I won’t know I’m saved until I’m looking Jesus in the eye.”

Well bless his heart!

I prefer what Paul said in Ephesian 1:

As Paul sez:

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known [3] to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

So there is the answer: We are saved before the foundation of the world!

I agree. He who does not believe in Jesus is going to Hell pronto.

Anyone putting up lame articles on the pope, and not requesting they be dumped after finding out they are untrue, should be a little more concerned about whether they are saved or not than you are. And Fr. Corapi most likely will die a saint if he stays on path; in fact a martyr is probably more like it.

Please don't take it personally. I was responding to the thread started by Persevero. The majority of my point was directed @ the last one to respond in it. I think you and I mostly agree.

I’m not even going to waste my time looking. Whether it was Peter, Paul, Thomas, etc, they preached ONE Body & ONE Faith. Salvation is found in Jesus Christ.

Gal 3:26-29 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”

Concur, though many confuse sanctification with salvation, and sanctification is a continuing process while we remain in fellowship with Him.

Hagiasmos: Consecration; dedication, sanctification, holiness. Just for clarity.

If you place “your trust” in the gospel message that Christ died on the cross paying your sin debt in full, was buried, and on the third day rose for your justification....you will immediately receive the gift of eternal life.

Romans 4:25
“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

1 Moreover, brethren, *I declare unto you the gospel* which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also *ye are saved*, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how *that Christ died for our sins* according to the scriptures;
4 And that he *was buried*, and that *he rose again the third day* according to the scriptures:
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4 The gospel of Christ)
