The Quizlet Story
For lack of a professional writer working for Quizlet, here are some ramblings from me, Andrew Sutherland, creator of Quizlet, president of Quizlet LLC, web developer, and college student.
Hello.
Quizlet is how I occupy my free time and even some of my non-free time.
My mission for Quizlet is to make learning not a chore. For example, I know a lot of teachers assign vocabulary to students, but few students actually "absorb" words into their vocabularies after they take their test. Which kind of defeats the purpose, right? So Quizlet is my response - it aims to make learning fun, thus make learning effective.
At the very least, it can help students do better on quizzes and tests even if they don't fully "absorb" their words.
I started Quizlet in October 2005, back when I was a mere 15-year-old (human years).
I had just received a list of 111 French Animals to memorize from my magnanimous French teacher. I was puttering along with my dad with some call-and-response type quizzing.
"Man, I love doing this" was NOT what I was thinking. So I put my thinking cap on, and the first line of code for Quizlet was written that night. Of course, that code was all deleted when I thought about what Quizlet would be. You really should plan first.
Quizlet is a lean, mean operation. For its first 420 days, it was the work of only myself.
I did all the designing, programming, debugging, and perfecting. The project had no product managers, no marketers, and no venture capitalists. It was just me and my testers.
Recently I've realized some things are out of my field of expertise. So there are a bunch of other people involved these days. In November 2009, Dave Margulius became CEO of Quizlet LLC after working with me on the site for 2 years, while I remain President and CTO. We now have an office in San Francisco where our small and growing team works on Quizlet every day. Together we're working on making Quizlet a great business that remains true to its roots.
Quizlet is free and will remain free to all users. We show advertising on our pages and also offer a premium service, Quizlet PLUS, which lets users upload images and browse ad-free.

Because there was a link to the quiz on the post you are disputing, please tell us what was in error about the quiz?
What are you arguing here, that the link provided by both you and the other poster are different? That the examples of the quiz are incorrect?
Two links to the same quiz, I am not getting what you are putting down here as incorrect about the quiz.
Making it sound like it came officially from the Church manual Missionary training when in truth it was the poster ones own personal paraphrasing on Missionary training!
Should one start the rope a dope or turning words or act clueless consider conversation over!

So prove what you are saying by posting what you think the “official” mission prep final from the “church” manual missionary training is so we can compare...
and please...
Long before Nana’s anxiously waiting skeleton turns to dust...
Remember the old song "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" that says:
I've seen several FReepers try to "spit into the wind" here....it caught up with them eventually.
(Oh sure, Resty...now you're telling us training missionaries "make up" or "screw up" test questions...pour over them like flashcards...what for? Just so they can sabotage themselves on the mission prep final?)
Also, what't this doing on the tail end of your article post: Created by Paldog on December 7, 2010 the mother of special needs children that would include the ones own paraphrasing which is not affiliated According to official Church teachings
Is that actually found at the Quizlet link you posted?
Yes Resty, why is this a new thread?
I know, what does that link have to do with the kid who invented “Quizlets”???????
OK, I think I get it now.
That kid invented the Quizlets program.
Anyone can use it to study anything but inputting their own qustions and answers.
That beautiful mom in the video is PalDog, who used the quizlet program to help someone study for the LDS priesthood “exam” or whatever.
Now, Resty seems to be discounting the flashcards as unofficial nonsense out of one side of her mouth and lifting up “PalDog” as an icon of Mormon motherhood out of the other.
So I’m confused.
Resty, are you claiming that really terrific woman is full of it or not? Are her quizlet flashcards BS?
Resty wants the light of Christ to shine and the prompting of the Holy Ghost to be present.
Therefore, the more threads that have imbedded the full linkages to Quizlet-revealing sites & coupled with my responsive commentary, the better!
Ergo...
* Flashcards: Mission Prep Final [MormonISM missionary - Open]
* Flashcards: Mission Prep Midterm [MormonISM - Missionary Prep Quiz - OPEN]
* Flashcards: Final [MormonISM Missionary - Another Final Exam- Open]
(BTW, Resty can you tell us a bit about this poster from this last link -- BBallin23?)
Thanks for all, Resty!
ALL: Be sure to check out ALL the links above if you want to know what the Mormon church is brainwashing their missionaries with via Missionary Training Center prep. The links to excerpts give a good indication what their missionaries are being crammed with prior to heading out for their two-year missions.
I almost saw a glimpse of an honest person until they spun.
How Sad so disappointing .
BTW there was nothing wrong with the mother paraphrasing according to her understanding as long as those reading the article understand it was not the official wording of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!
So she’s dishonest? Really Resty?
Be sure to point out what is incorrect so we won’t be led astray.
By the way Resty, what compelled you to name the source as "Paldog (mother of special needs children)", instead of just "Paldog"?
Did the fact that she has special needs children have one single thing to do with her Missionary training Quizlet?
Click on the image. at first glance it seems that her quizlet is word-for-word out of the manual. I'll look more thoroughly when I get home.
Mothers with special needs kids are not ALWAYS dishonest.
Resty,
Are you from Michigan?
We should make our own flash cards or better yet, a deck of cards. 52 reasons not to follow the book of mormon. Harry Reid could be the joker!
Now what is wrong with Michigan?
