Allahpundit had a nice roundup yesterday of the pre-crime trial of pastor Terry Jones. Today I came across this impromptu interview with one of the jurors in the trial. His name is Daniel Smith and hes identified as a juror in this clip by a local Fox affiliate. As youll hear, free speech in this case definitely took a back seat to concerns over violence, specifically violent reactions from Muslims:

Q: Was the weighing of the free speech question heavily ? Juror: It was an issue that we talked about but again we were we were there to really discuss whether it could, uh, provoke a, uh Q: Violence? Juror: Violence in the community.
So free speech was an issue but violence was the important issue. This is absolutely wrong and not how free speech is meant to work in America. Allah calls it the codification of the hecklers veto and thats exactly what it is. Weve now located that Mosque Exclusion Zone people were talking about last year. Turns out its real in Dearborn, MI where free speech has been excluded from the area around Americas largest mosque for the next three years.
I am Spartacus.
Cowards all.
So what have we learned here, kids?
The more violent your “Community” is, the greater chance that they’ll get their way.
“The more violent your Community is, the greater chance that theyll get their way”
Bingo! This is why the pinko commies have gotten away with this tactic for decades. They can organize a protest on someone else’s private property with no challenge from law enforcement. They can show up at townhall events and beat the snot out of someone with no repercussions. Yep, don’t you just love this new leftist civil society.
b
People living in the area need to take up the cause, and carry on with the demonstration at the mosque. Sitting back and doing nothing is not an option. If the new people are arrested, more need to step in. It no longer matters who the personality is in this situation, it is the principle of “Freedom on Speech”.
Not “on”, Freedom of Speech.
The correct answer is never to bow to violence or the threat of violence. The only response is concealed carry . . . and self-defense when the thugs get violent. Would I shoot a thug who attacked me or another person for exercising free speech rights? Yep. In a heartbeat - his final heartbeat.
Right on.
I missed this. What’s Pastor Jones being charged with?
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.

“The correct answer is never to bow to violence or the threat of violence. The only response is concealed carry...”
There’s a second necessary response: Elect a constitutional sheriff in your county. With that, you have the legal and martial tools to respond to violent threats. It also establishes a critical political base to meet threats from armed federal gestapo. A sheriff can also establish a 2,000 man auxiliary deputy unit for “emergencies.”
With this action, you’ll be well on your way to protecting your neighborhood.

This is not new to Dearborn. Dearborn is becoming the first US “no go” zone where US law and Constitution do not apply.
