Was David Wilkerson’s Death A Metaphor To Us From God? 05/01/2011
Sitting In His Presence ^ | 05/01/2011 | Pastor Cathie Miller

“For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God;
and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those
who do not obey the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17

“See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name,
and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished,
for I am calling down a sword upon all who live on the earth, declares

Read up on some of the prophecies Wilkerson was preaching on in the 1970’s, that is mind blowing.

Saw the live stream for Times Square Church Sunday service this morning and I can't stop feeling so sad. Pastor Carter Conlon was near tears remembering Pastor Wilkerson, known as Brother Dave to those who have been with him for years. He was a simple man, never wanted the spotlight, but had a BIG heart for the lost, the WORLD has LOST a tremendous man of God. The Church is hosting his Memorial Service May 14 at 2:00pm eastern time. They are expecting in the thousands so I believe the staff will be streaming the live event on screens in a bigger avenue for those who can attended the memorial. That area is still undecided tough and will be announced in a later date. Pastor Conlon few out of NY right after the morning service to be with Brother Dave's family for a private funeral. I will miss him terribly. EVERYTIME, without fail I remember praying for certain situations in my life when I needed an answer from God, God would use Wilkerson's monthly newsletter to touch my heart with encouraging words. I have been a member of David Wilkerson's via mail for over 25+ years. I will miss dearly! He had a servants heart! And a gifted ability to write what the Holy Spirit instructed...awesome spirit filled servant of Christ. :(

You posted my words. No need to add anything.

I agree 100%. My morning routine always began with his daily blog/devotional. I have 200+ of his sermons on my iPod. I met him once in 1991 only briefly.

I never knew him, but will miss him terribly.

He was a magnificent man. He and his group presented an assembly at our small parochial college in the late early 70s and it was very moving. From time to time I donate to a local venture that grew out of his ministry.

That said, it’s difficult to draw any implications from his death. He was 79 and died in a car accident. We were fortunate to have had him around as long as we did. Many wonderful people have been taken from us far earlier in their lives.

The prophets of the Old Testament were sent at various times when it came to warning Israel. Some were sent very early to warn those what was coming in perhaps 40 years, others right before and during. Listening to the 1973 prophecies (1973 was the year of Roe V Wade) it seems that if things don’t happen right away, everybody continues thinking they can get away with sinning. God gave Egypt LOTS of warnings and only those who obeyed God were saved from the plague of death.

There was one time in the Old Testament that God would not forgive Israel.

THE VOICE OF JUDGMENT

I will miss Pastor Wilkerson terribly. He had such a profound influence on my life. I’ve read his books and listened to many of his sermons, and right now, I am struggling as to what I wish to write about him and his message. The grief and shock are still sinking in.

THE voice of warning of judgment coming to America has been silenced. No one warned America like David Wilkerson. Starting with his book THE VISION, which was published in 1973, he repeatedly warned America that she faced the wrath of God if she persisted in sliding down the slippery slope of immorality that she was on. His last major warning was March 7, 2009, when he sent out his URGENT WARNING of a soon-coming earth-shattering calamity. David Wilkerson started World Challenge and in 1971 moved the World Challenge headquarters to Lindale, a city in east Texas. Now, in 2011, forty years later, he has been killed suddenly in a head-on car collision in east Texas, and his wife is in critical condition.

E.W. Bullinger notes that forty is connected with a time of trial and testing and with probation. I believe America’s time of probation is over.

Pastor Wilkerson’s death came on the same day that Obama revealed his long-form birth certificate. One door cracked open (Obama), but another slammed shut hard and violently (Wilkerson). I don’t know what that means, but having the two happen on the same day may mean something.

On the same day, the most violent outbreak of tornadoes ever recorded in Alabama occurred. (This is the same state that removed Judge Roy Moore for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courthouse in 2003.) As of the time of this post, 173 have died. That is unbelieveable!

The tornadoes hit a turkey farm, and 40,000 turkeys were “running amok.” The turkey is the bird that Ben Franklin wanted to represent America, but his effort failed and the turkey came to be symbolic only of Thanksgiving Day.

Many pastors today, either in fear of losing their congregations or because they simply do not believe that God will ever judge America, do not call out warnings to repent. Now, suddenly and violently, the only voice that ever did so has been taken home. I believe that God will no longer warn America to the level that He led Pastor Wilkerson to warn. I believe our probation of 40 years is over.

The only message is to remember to wear your seat belt while driving.

There is a bigger message - this blog is an excellent example of why women should not rebel against Scripture and claim for themselves the role of "pastor". (1 Timothy 2:12)

David Wilkerson died while in rebellion to the traffic laws. Furthermore, how can he be a "sacrificial lamb" when the Scriptures say that the typical life-span is seventy years (Psalms 90:10) and he lived nearly a decade after that? Do these people expect immortality ?

The author then comes up with some nonsense of there being a "prophecy" of his regarding a tornado outbreak, but somehow she misses the greatest tornado outbreak in a single 24 hour period back in '74 and the longest continuous outbreak in '92. (Remember, God only cares about the united States and Israel and no where else) The reason why this inconvenience was ignored is because nothing else came about and these Premillennial Dysfunctionalists are eagerly expecting global destruction and turmoil to satisfy their blood lust for death, carnage and divine Judgment.

Many of Wilkerson's fantasies about a fallen earth were already well underway in Europe and in many leftist urban areas of the US, and thus his "prophecies" were nothing more than exaggerating all of those things already occurring. Nevertheless, people who think all history begins the moment they were born eat this dreck up and that is why David is venerated - because he hated America and deeply hoped that God would kill us all in vengeance.

So you’re saying that God is punishing the US by taking those who didn’t fall away but served Him ardently? Can you find scripture that shows that God punishes the nation by taking the faithful?

I thought you were a

If ya wanna discuss it, ya gotta at least post it.

*******

“For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17

“See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all who live on the earth, declares the Lord Almighty.” Jeremiah 25:29

Being too weak to go to my desk, I asked my husband to pull out his older original Mac laptop for me. He was kind enough to do it. Yes, I could have waited until I was stronger. I just wanted to get this message out while it was fresh upon my mind as God gave it to me.

I have asked God for insight into the death of Pastor David Wilkerson. I want to discuss things frankly with you. In doing so, I do not want there to be any misunderstanding. Let me say, here and now, that I am not in the camp with anyone who thinks David Wilkerson committed suicide on April 27th, 2011. Instead let me say that I believe that God used David Wilkerson as a sacrificial lamb.

I make my case by stating that not once have I heard of any “hanky-panky” in his ministry! Not one time. He was a “holiness” teacher who practiced what he preached. Secondly some well meaning person was concerned that he was down and depressed in his last few messages and that “most pastors write from their own heart.” The man stated that in encouraging others David Wilkerson was trying to encourage himself.

To that theory I say “BALDERDASH!” I know in my own ministry I have written to encourage people more than I ever have in these past few weeks. I know that God spoke to my heart to do so, as there are many hurting people that are close to giving up on God completely. Now, in doing so, as I search the scriptures I too am encouraged. There is no doubt about that. I am not, however, suicidal. Neither, in my humble opinion, was David Wilkerson. Because of the life he had lived, as well as in my own life, he had learned much compassion for the hurting. Show me an uncompassionate, cold person and I will know immediately that sorrow has not touched them much, if at all.

I think that for those who have “ears to hear and eyes to see” April 27th of 2011 was a significant date. The judgment of God upon our country, the United States of America has begun, beloved!

My reasoning is that the tornadoes hit in what is affectionately referred to as “The bible belt.” Just about every person I have seen interviewed, that survived, has given the glory to GOD. If you have the chance look up the audio version of a vision given by David Wilkerson in 1973, you will be amazed at how the things that he saw in the vision are now a reality. In this vision God showed David Wilkerson a clear vision of killer tornadoes coming upon the earth, amongst other things.

Why was David Wilkerson’s death on the very same day the tornadoes hit the South? I don’t believe that there are any mistakes with God. What better day for Pastor Wilkerson to go home to be in God’s presence! I believe his death brought attention to many regarding his 1973 vision. People read about the death, and in researching the man have found information, including the audio of the vision. God always uses more then one thing to bring a point home to us!

Look at this death as a metaphor, if you will. David Wilkerson crossed the line and went into the direct path of destruction. I believe God is telling us that as a country, we also have crossed the point of no return and we are heading into a path of destruction of mighty proportions. David Wilkerson did not have his seatbelt on. He was not prepared for that moment, as many of us are not prepared. There may be things that are holding some of us back from fully surrendering to God, and yet we think, “God is going to protect me, these things don’t matter I will still go to heaven.” We can’t take chances anymore and God wants us to wake up now!

The more I reflect on how God put this whole thing together that day, I am more in AWE of Him, then ever before. What an AWESOME, LOVING God we serve.

God has this whole thing planned. His timing is perfect. We are His children and He is giving us signs! What should we be doing? We should be encouraging the weak, the sick, the hurting. We should drop our spirits of pride and let others pray for our weaknesses. In doing so the whole body will remain STRONG in these days of unexplainable tragedies coming upon the earth.

Someone said to me, “I wonder what we did to Israel to bring this on?” Well, I am a supporter of Israel, but truthfully I feel in my spirit that this is about US. This is about the murdering of innocent children on our shores; this is about the lewd lifestyle of our society, the immorality of our leaders, and the watering down of the gospel in our churches in an attempt to grab money from parishioners. No, in my opinion, we need look no further then America. As the Reverend Billy Graham once said, “If God lets this continue He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

I believe that God looked at David Wilkerson on that day and said, “Well done good and faithful servant!” and loved him so much for speaking His truth and prophesying in His Name, that He took him home in advance of the real, hard days coming upon the earth.

In Obedience to God I wrote this message!

Pastor Cathie Miller, His handmaiden….
