Learn how to use the Bible and Bible Scriptures and the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit as the evangelist preaches the grace message.

Wait -- bbtut, didn't you say that the Psalms are not meant to be used by Gentile Christians? Also since the Old Testatment, the Gospels etc. were written for Jews primarily, that means that Gentiles shouldn't read them , eh?

What about Gentiles who had a Jewish ancestor in 1189? Can they read the Psalms in their prayer services?

Cronos continues to post UNRELATED replys to posts such as this correct Biblical evangelism post. Why? Because he\she cannot with any Bible verse competently and honestly discuss the topic at hand. Cronos has an axe to grind. He\she does not wish to contribute to the topic, this behavior is revenge focused and grind the topic out of context; true grace believing Christians don’t act like this. I bid him\her I Corinthians 15-3-4.

Good point.

Whenever I hear the phrase, “invite Jesus into your heart!”...I think of a barker outside a strip tease joint trying to rustle up business, yelling something like “...Come on in Jesus,...we want you in here so we all can have a good time!”....not exactly the same situation as first turning back to God, thinking about what He has provided in Christ at the Cross, then talking to God in your heart and telling him about the ways we know we have failed to do what He wanted us to do in His Plan,..then by 1st John 1:9 he’s fair and just to forgive us our sin, or for the new believer, similarly focusing on what Christ provided on the Cross, while facing God and laying whatever we have done which is corrupt from His Plan with Him, in faith allowing and recognizing Christ has already paid for all those sins.

Then when God the Holy Spirit is in fellowship with us, Christ also may indwell us.

So, before one goes evangelizing, and quoting numerous different passages from an unidentified version of the Bible, wouldn't it be better to first establish which version of the Bible you are using, and why that particular version?

Really?

From what it appears from the post, could you please identify a common translation that does not have those passages contained within? Granted that dynamic equivalences such as the "Living Bible" and "The Message" are not Bibles, but rather the predigested words that have passed through the system of veritable reprobate authors available for the consumption of the Rick Warren types, these passages here maintain roughly the same thought no matter what version.

What is likely most relevant to you is the 1 Corinthians 2:14 principle, whether read in the original koine Greek or one of a myriad of translations the message is the same: The Bible is a closed book to you.

Unrelated replies? Do you mean to say that it's ok for Psalms to be used by Gentile Christians?

You posted an article that said Psalms are not our mail for Prayer today

The Psalms are an excellent source of truth on how David prayer was to work by, but not for today's prayer pattern for the church today. Psalms are primarily Jewish. Psalms outlines the Jewish Davidic Mandate.

Of course the problem with your posts saying that the Gospels and all the non-Pauline epistles are for Jews only, that asks the question — what of people who have some Jewish ancestor from 1293 — can they read the psalms as part of their “mail to God” today?

yup, there are only 2 destinations, heaven or hell. Final Sanctification aka Purgatory is not a destination, nor a duration of time, but the end stage of the process of purification by the blood of the Lamb, by the Holy Spirit due to the grace and forgiveness of God.

cv: While it is academically laudable to seek a well translated version of the Bible, the real focus should be on studying His Word in fellowship with Him, allowing God to perform His work in us.

oops, you better tell that to bbtut whose posts insist that anything else than the KJV is utter heresy and the work of the devil, right bibtut?

Do not make this thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

all well and good, but your individual Freeper was clearly out to make it individual against me; to which I would say you should make a fair and honest warning against that Freeper also, since he/she instigated this un-christian behavior by making it his/her UN-RELATED argument against me - an individual Freeper also. This individual Freeper has also individually labled me a "heretic" - so you should also review past posts by him/her when I was falsely labled a "heretic" - such behavior certainly does not reflect the mark of a christian Freeper who simply goes around and disagrees with everyone and labels everyone "heretic"

Go ahead, I haven't used that term against you or indeed anyone for years.

Those are false accusations

Secondly, it's normal in open threads to have folks call a cult such as yours a heresy etc. (which I haven't as it's too small to bother) -- if this is too barb-filled, then for the thin-skinned there can be caucus threads. I guess you could start a "Only Pauline Epistles from the KJV bible believers caucus" if you so wish.

oh, and by the by, I think you had once defined heretic as
A HERETIC = A person who professes to believe the Holy Scriptures, or the major doctrines (i.e. the “Fundamentals”) found therein, but who believes, embraces, and espouses a LIE (at least one and possibly more) which is clearly contrary to sound and pure doctrine. A Heretic will maintain the appearance of “Orthodoxy” on all the major doctrines (i.e. the “Fundamentals”), but upon close examination will prove to be a LIAR and a DECIEVER concerning at least one of the major tenants or doctrines
, correct?

so anyone who says that Christians should not be reading the psalms is a heretic by this definition.

Anyone who says that the Gospels are primarily for Jews and not for Christians is a heretic by this definition.
