This is what the LORD says:
Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. (Jeremiah 17:5-8)

Father, we thank You for this past year, and for how You have kept and blessed us to this day.
Lord, we pray that You would give guidance and success to our military in all they undertake. We ask that they would never be given a mission that displeases You.
Father, as America enters a new and momentous year, we ask for Your mercynot because we deserve it, but because we need it. Thank You for all the good things we continue to enjoy.
LORD, the one who trusts in man is cursed; he whose heart turns away from You will be like a bush in the wastelands. He will live alone in a salt land, in the parched places of the desert. But blessed is the man who trusts in You. He whose confidence is in You will be like a tree planted by the water. He will have no fear when heat comes, and he will not worry in a year of drought, for it is You who makes the leaf green and causes the tree to bear fruit. We trust in You, the Spring that never fails, and drink living water, through Jesus Christwho is the same yesterday and today and forever, Amen.

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE
In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.
In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.
WREATHS AT ARLINGTON
Heavenly Father, at this time when we commemorate the Nativity of your Son, Jesus the Christ, we pray that you vouchsafe the souls of our Fallen to dwell eternally in your Divine Presence, Amen.
